  1. They are obviously trying it on. No way do you pay that for a player whose contract is up in less than 12 months.
  2. Nixon also saying we've a bid in for another midfielder
  3. If we are after another midfielder someone like Alan Browne on loan could fit the bill. Sunderland happy to let him go, he's another in the Travis mould, bit of a shit houser and someone opposition fans hate. Not sure where all this leaves Forshaw tbh unless it's as cheerleader in the dressing room
  4. Wonder if this guy stood out for Legia when we were scouting Kapuadi and came onto the radar that way.
  5. He's not wrong about the pancakes either 😀
  6. Have to say, for better or worse, this is the most interesting window I can remember in all my time watching Rovers (apart maybe from the early Uncle Jack era). Looks like a complete overhaul of the squad when most people were thinking about a bit of tinkering here and there. I realise certain circumstances have maybe forced the issue with players leaving but the complete change of policy to permanent signings rather than loans is in my opinion sensible. Sure, not all of these are going to come off, but if 75-80% are a success than the club has been vindicated in my eyes.
  7. Nixon also saying Buckley to Saudi Arabia is possible £1m + extras. Take it and run
  8. Did Ismael have anything to say on transfers after the game ? Not seen anything mentioned so far
  9. Brilliant performance today. Have to say Cantwell was unreal, giving him the captaincy looks a masterstroke from VI. Also special mention for Hedges today, he was great and looks so much better on the left. Overall everyone did their job COYB
  10. Just paid around £20m for the keeper from Leicester. Making Pears look like Brad Friedel.
  11. No he doesn't. Just done his Rovers interview in French which had to be translated. Tried English first few words but switched to French
  12. Nixon also saying Baradji needs minor surgery which will rule him out for a "couple of weeks at least" But with the international break after next week shouldn't be too costly
  13. Blackburn Rovers have agreed a deal to sign Moussa Baradji from Yverdon Sport in a move to replace captain Lewis Travis. Rovers have agreed a fee to sell their 27-year-old midfielder and he will become a Derby County player after weeks of negotiations. The deal will rise above £3million and includes a sell-on fee. As a result, The Lancashire Telegraph understands Blackburn have reignited their pursuit of Baradji with the player in Lancashire finalising his move to Ewood Park. Baradji could've been a Rovers player earlier but failed part of his medical in July. He went back to Swiss side Yverdon Sport and featured in their first game of the league season but a deal has always been on the table. READ MORE: Blackburn Rovers agree Lewis Travis sale in multi-million Derby County deal The exit of Exuace Mafoumbi has also freed up an ESC slot, which would be needed to register Baradji. Ismael did not confirm the Baradji news but gave a good hint that Rovers' interest remained earlier on Friday. "It's still a possibility because we think a lot of positive things about him," Ismael told The Lancashire Telegraph. "I truly believe that he is a very, very good player. So the possibility to get him for the club, we always be aware of the opportunity." Rovers are still pursuing a right-winger before the September 1 deadline. They have made progress with a target but a deal is not done at the time of writing. "We are a little bit closer than last time you asked me," Ismael said with a smile. "But not so close that we can tell you that he will be here. But we are working hard. The board is pushing really, really hard to get the deal done. So I am carefully positive." "We expect it, yes. For sure. We expect more signings," Ismael added. "He (Mafoumbi) gave us the opportunity now to be more flexible on the transfer market. "It's clear. So, now you are not only focused on the player who can get the GBE points. You are more flexible, yes. "It's an attacking player we are looking for. I think it's not a secret and as I say, we will see if players are leaving, we need to replace them and which opportunities we will have on the transfer market. "What we said as well is that we prefer to buy the player to avoid going on the loan market at the minute. We stay that way. But you never know what can happen at the end if we are not able to get the player we want. "I think it's a good scenario to have, as I said. One position, it's clear. We have to do it. We want to do it. "As I said from the beginning, if a player is leaving us, then we have to replace, to make sure that we keep the stability in the squad with the numbers and we will get some players back from injury as well. "It will look much better but the minute we want to finish our job on the transfer market, we are pushing really, really hard. As I said, the minute is some light in the tunnel, but not completely bright."
  14. When Mafoumbi arrived I don't think the plan was to look abroad for signings particularly Obviously Eustace was in charge and we all know the age/ profile of player he wanted and it wasn't foreigners. The change of thinking to overseas players has only happened this Summer
  15. Seems like fans on social media are pretty much the same whoever they support 😄
