  1. I think we lack real height and raw strength at the min in the 1st team, aside from Gallagher (who never seems as strong as a bloke his size should be) and Ayala who is quite the beast (looking an absolute crime that he was never played when fit under the last bloke, twice the natural cb and leader that leninhan is/was!) And sczmodics isnt going to increase our average height at 5'6 (not knocking him he looks a tidy player) The liverpool lad looks tall but a bit lanky still, Just think we could get muscled of the pitch at times this season if we dont get a bit more meat on our bones 😄
  2. Believe it or not. Not all post on here are directed at you specifically! I don't really care for your opinion as i could simply predict it if i wish so (just as most can predict chuddys bum lickery at the other end of the spectrum)
  3. Hard to knock Vale, young lad making his debut after earning it through hard work in pre season and lack of other more experienced choices up front. For me he didn't do anything wrong specifically for a centre forward (ie. he didn't miss any easy chances on goal) he just didn't really have any effect the game though, but i don't think he looked too out of place out there for the most part. On another day I would have had Dack or Markandy out there wider and gallagher more central... But either way we won the game and made them look pretty poor. (be interesting to see how boro get on against them next week!)
  4. Our short corner routine was causing a real threat every time yesterday. That said we need more than one routine or we will quickly get found out 😂
  5. hahahaha JDT and the incredible actor Mads Mikkelsen have now sort of fused into the same person in my mind, I'll never watch hannibal the same way again now
  6. but when he can't find it he just invents it (or vastly exaggerates it) 😅
  7. you're not right you! I mean theres having an "opinion" and then theres talking absolute bollox.
  8. That would probably be my biggest grip of the afternoon to be honest🙈 There's absolutely no reason for the music/pa system to be that fkin loud, you literally couldn't here the person next to you speaking, just completely unnecessary and mind numbing, drowns out all the atmosphere in the ground
  9. Main plus points of the top of my head... Ayala & Wharton easily our best centre back pairing since Dann & Hanley Brittain (on this performance alone!) the most complete RB/RWB we've had since Emerton (actually reminded me a lot of Emerton in his build, style of play and energy levels) Great goal for Travis obviously and generally very good display, he was absolutely exhausted by the final whistle Hedges really good technical ability on the ball, didn't offer much off it but was always making himself available (technically got the assist with the nod down to Travis) Overall we started off pretty slow and played deeper than im sure JDT wanted, but as the game went on we pushed higher and made qpr look very poor even though our passing was generally pretty sloppy(hopefully that's mostly just down to it being the first game back) for a first game of the season with a new manager that's only been here a month can't really complain, just need to strengthen a few positions and we should do well. One clear negative from me! If Jason Lowe did Left backs.... Harry Pickering. (And I'm actually disappointed to say that because I thought he had more to offer, but on that performance I cant see it)
  10. I think Vale and hedges have earned their starts through their performances in pre season
  11. Benni Mcarthy just been appointed a first team coach at united! Good look to him, got his work cut out there with that circus https://metro.co.uk/2022/07/30/man-utd-hire-former-premier-league-star-to-work-with-clubs-strikers-17096295/?ito=newsnow-feed
  12. Yeah but JDT will never be as good as Duncan Ferguson 🙄😅
  13. Pretty sure Davenport was snapped up, can't remember by who of the top of my head EDIT! No sorry you're right hecis still out of contract! He's got a lot of talent, just needs serious game time somwhere to build his confidence i think, especially after all the injuries and being dicked about by our previous manager.
  14. Yes I'm buzzin too 😃 new exciting manager, a rare pretty much fully fit squad, square pegs in square holes regardles of which formation we go with... happy days The foundations are looking good, sprinkle a few more signings in there over the next month 🎉
  15. Sorry but the the constent changing of the title has become a little tedious! 😄😄
  16. Well I'm there for the opener and plan on going to a good handful of home games in the coming months, then maybe a half season tkt at Christmas First time ive excitedly wanted to go to games in years, would have got a season tkt if money wasn't so tight right now and i work odd weekends... My last season ticket was for Bowyers first full season in charge! We had a great bunch of players that year and if i remember right there was also a massive incentive of a vastly reduced season tkt for the following season if we where to get promoted! Sadly we know how that went, Bowyers lack of tactical know how and match day management skills being very amature.
  17. To be honest I'm not sure why we're so eager to move him out, he gives a bit of competition to brittain down the right and offers adequate back up if brittain misses games
  18. Really not getting good vibes about this Morton, seems a bit of a laxadasical Leighton Clarkson, i just think centre midfield is the one area that you need your own men giving everything for the club, not loan players that have the option to just hide away when the going gets tough
  19. What have you got yo contribute thats so flippin enlightening?
  20. 😂 🤣👏 (jokes only 90s folks will get👌😄)
  21. Seems a good lad, Needs to step up his game a gear this season though (but then tbf so do a few others in his age bracket at the club) That's if we want to progress anyway🤷‍♂️
  22. Naa i think it's best to keep our very best youngsters close to our chest! The lower quality training and facilities at a div 1 or 2 league club would only hinder his progress. Don't want him to end up as another Maguire in a few years! He was very highly thought of in his teens
  23. If he's not going to be a starter at Brighton I think he'll be back one way or another🤞🤞 Not sure a season long loan would make much sense from Brightons point of few though if his contracts up in 12 months! So that makes me think Nico is on the wind up this evening.
  24. No i agree in this instance, but it does bring to head a major flaw in relying on our youth system for the future and spending so many millions each year on the Accedmy and keeping category A status, when all the real cream of our youngsters get virtually stolen by the big clubs before even really breaking into our first team and we're just left with all the average players. I think like most aspects of rovers these days the only way it could improve would be if we became a respectable Premiership club again. 🙏🙏
