  1. Under the current circumstances that would be the most sensible decision. The way that the Australian government quickly closes down not just towns or cities, but entire States really puts the whole Ashes tour under threat even if the players families are allowed in. If both countries can rearrange their 2022 schedules then that would be the way to go. I’m just as gutted as anyone about this as I had arranged to visit my son and family in Oz, taking in the Adelaide and Melbourne Tests. But, more importantly, I won’t be able to give my 6 year old identical twin granddaughters lots of hugs and kisses. 😩

  4. Brilliant shirts. All we need now are some decent players to wear them.
  5. I always have a little schoolboy chuckle when I see his name 😂 Queen - Another One Bites The Dust.
  6. Prenton Park on a Friday night was an education too.
  7. It’s jobs for the boys. Just like Ewood 😡
  8. Excellent report. That is exactly how I see it.

  10. I can’t believe what I am reading. The Captain of Lancashire deserting his duties to sign up to the sheep worrying Tyke outfit. Loyalty, my arse. This type of mercenary behaviour is the thin edge of the wedge for the longer versions of cricket as we know it. The management of Lancashire C.C. should be hauled over the coals for allowing this situation to happen. It’s also a kick in the teeth to the loyal Lancs supporters too. Not only that, what sort of message does this send out to youngsters, who the E.C.B. purport to be wanting to engage in the sport? They will think that this type of money grabbing behaviour is part of the game. I’ve previously had my say about The Hundred, and this latest episode is another example of what is wrong in cricket, and sport in general in this day and age. 😡

  14. Based on the standard of Scottish International football, Gally will walk straight into the starting line up in any defensive position he fancies.
  15. Apparently, in a bid to fleece our loyal supporters even more, Waggot is pushing to make this shirt compulsory attire if the temperature goes above 20 degrees C.
  16. Roger Daltrey - Giving It All Away
  17. Absolutely. Brilliant knock of 86 by Lamb with support from Bailey(45). Lancs have good strength in depth which is necessary when players are called up for International duties. Let’s hope we can collect some silverware this season.
  18. The Hundred is definitely not an English version of the IPL. The IPL is a full on T20 competition, with an array of International and local cricketing talent that runs with the same rules as other T20 franchises around the world. I watched the men’s match last night also, and though there was more action than the women’s game previously, it still is a poor alternative to T20. Unfortunately, the ECB thinks this is the way forward in encouraging future generations of youngsters to pick up a cricket bat. As I said in my previous post...Bollocks.

  20. Indeed, a thought provoking look at what is happening within cricket at the moment. I watched The Hundred last night, mainly to see what all the fuss was about. I am an avid fan of the T20 format, especially the IPL and Big Bash competitions and I thought this latest “innovation” would grab my attention in the same way. Sadly, I just see it as just a watered down version of T20 with too many gimmicky changes for the sake of it - 5 bowl overs, two overs bowled from the same end etc. I am also a passionate Lancastrian, but I find it difficult to support a team called Manchester Originals, even if they are based at the home of Lancashire cricket. The ECB assume that throwing a shed load of money at this pantomime, more young people will become interested in cricket. Bollocks. I was involved in Junior Cricket long before these shorter versions came along. All the clubs in the area had very healthy groups of Under 11,13,15 and 18 players. But on top of that there were many youngsters, boys AND girls who turned up on a Friday evening just to have a knock about and a game of Kwik cricket. They didn’t need disco music or fireworks to entice them there, they came because they liked it, whatever their capabilities. So, instead of ploughing millions of pounds into a pointless competition which only benefits players bank accounts, channel that money into the local clubs around the country so they can provide better facilities for the local youngsters, the professional cricketers of the future.
