  1. That’s good. no thanks, no desire to read 37 pages. I had mine as well, but not on this thread.
  2. Who would that manager & staff be?
  3. Allardyce... Do I detect some wishful thinking there? 😄
  4. Well, maybe Mowbray can get Branthwaite and/or Pickering, get Nyambe back, perhaps Dack & Travis pep up our attack, etc. There are no miracles here. But, we can hope for improvement. I know nothing short of Mowbray being sacked will satisfy many of you. Whatever happens the rest of the season, mowbray needs to be re-evaluated fairly at seasons end.
  5. Douglas on... meanwhile, dingles losing to MK Dons, 0-1
  6. I’m afraid I bought Mowbray’s line about his love for the FA Cup, hook, line & sinker. I’m not seeing evidence of it today. Methinks we need to see Elliott & Arma, & perhaps Gally in the 2nd half, if we hope to advance in the Cup.
  7. I see the need for Arma to get a rest; Douglas hasn’t featured as much.
  8. quite damning, with so many out, Douglas cannot make the 11.
  9. It would have been easy to be a Liverpool fan. Our son got his Master’s at Reading, and he adopted them quickly while in England (but the first game he saw was Reading/Blackburn, with a Jordan Rhodes Game winner). I began learning about the game, studying the teams & players, and I kept going back to Blackburn Rovers. The first game I saw on TV was an FA Cup match, Rovers vs ManC, the first goal was by Scott Dann. I was born in Dallas, two years after the Dallas Cowboys were born, so we grew up together. My earliest memories were 1969, Roger Staubach & Calvin Hill’s rookie seasons, & “Doomsday, that great defense they had, so the Cowboys were already winning by then. It would have been easy to pick a “massive” PL team to follow. I still think it ironic the last time the Cowboys & Rovers hit Paydirt was the same season- 1995. My wife & I got a personal tour of Ewood last September. I also went to the Anfield museum, got my picture taken with the six “big ears”, etc. But I treasure my pic with Rovers’ PL trophy, much more. CoYB!
  10. Friendly issue.... I’m just saying beating or losing to Stoke isn’t dependent on what happens tomorrow vs Doncaster. Mowbray says he loves the FA, & has since he was a kid. Playing Dack & Travis proves he takes this seriously. As far as the FA Cup as opposed to the EFL Cup, no doubt the FA is more prestigious. Rovers won a passel of ‘em, prior to 1930. But, I have to believe any Rovers fan since 2001 holds EFL Cup win over Tots as as big deal. As for winning the PL again, I just want us to be promoted in my lifetime (I’ve only been a fan since 2013, & I’m 58). I will accept whatever happens afterward. But it would mean as much, if not more, to this generation of fans to win it, as it did to those in 1995.
  11. Dack & Travis In the 11 should insure we move on in the competition. As a Texan latecomer to Blackburn Rovers fandom, I love the domestic Cups, but I’m much more concerned about fielding a quality club vs Stoke.
  12. Absolutely... I simply meant there’s no way I expected this bunch to keep a clean sheet. Doubtless, Birm are a poor side, but we’ve lost to worst sides this season & last.
  13. How about this defending today? The biggest surprise I’ve had all season is today’s defense
  14. Elliott continues to be one of our best, most consistent players, if not the best.
  15. We could win, easily. Rovers are not totally dependent on Arma... we have BB, Dack, Elliott, etc. But, we could just as easily score 2, and lose, 3-2. Our defending is a shambles. We have been conceding a goal a game, far too easily. I have no faith in our backs.
  16. I’ve come around to this position myself since the game ended. Tony has had plenty of time to improve the club, both in acquisitions and coaching them up. I won’t mean-mouth Mowbray, but I won’t defend him anymore, either.
  17. Welcome aboard, I am glad there are fans who love the Rovers enough to post during the lean times. I have low expectations. we will eventually hit a run, just to get our hopes up, then the bleak period of results and disappointment which follows.
  18. Life in the Championship is not odious, as long as we win games we’re capable of winning, and are competitive in the others. But today was a kick in the crotch, and it’s becoming quite commonplace to experience that this season. If any team in the division gives us a thought, it’s simply Rovers are limited by a Manager who employs a defense they can break down. We are limited by an unimaginative, uninspired, and poor technical manager.
  19. Welcome aboard, have a good cry with the rest of us. I see a team with some really talented players up front, and deficient ones at back. Lenihan is serviceable, & Nyambe, alas, I fear Nyambe exit when his contract is up. Bell is League 1 material, but our best today, that says it all. Ayala is a wuss and Douglas may well be on his way back to Leeds.
  20. I endorse Rich Sharpe comments.
  21. It’s all so depressing. There’s no recovering from this. Rovers are 1st in our hearts, but 14th on the table. We’ve got several players who can win at this level, but I’m convinced with poor to nonexistent leadership, there’s no hope for advancing.
  22. All that this means, is in the January transfer period, mowbray will regrettably say he came up short landing any defenders. We’re cooked. No way there’s any playoff hope this year.
  23. No, I’ve given up that hope. I’d say, let’s finish strong, a solid top third, but I’m afraid That would give mowbray ammo that he can say he’s very close. I always want Rovers to win, but this shows we aren’t close at all. Dacky may well regret his decision to re-sign.
  24. H’fld joyous, at the prospects of a defense without Nyambe. The team has to feel gutted
