January Transfer Window.
Angry_Pirate replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Does Van Hecke qualify for tribunal compensation if he leaves on a free? Would be one of the smartest signings in our recent history. Brighton would be smarter to ask for £0 and a sell on % then sell him for £1m. As others have said, Ayala has 6 months left at Rovers. At 33, he won't take a 1 year deal and no way we offer a multi year deal at his wage. Van Hecke, Hyam, Wharton as starting options, with Phillips and Carter in reserve would be an immense central defense room. Dare I say, this has Sunderland written all over it. -

The red card was about as aggressive as when two opponents slap each other's arses after a challenge or when a keeper playfully slaps a teammate on the back of the head. It was naive - sure, but how that can be deemed a red when the players laughed after. The ref went with the advice he was given and probably isn't best pleased when he sees it back. Good job that 4th official wasn't at the World Cup (especially Argentina vs Holland) as that game would have been abandoned due to 29 red cards. The Argentina player literally smashed the ball at the Dutch bench after a foul, and wasn't even booked for it (Booked for the foul). Shambles officiating by a Billy Big Bollocks 4th official. -

Whatever is left in the mythical Transfer budget has to go on a quality CM or we've no chance of amassing anything in 2023. We also need a proper winger as an option, and proper depth at both full back options, but the CM position is bleeding from the eyeballs. -

Ref is a massive homer here. -
As all have said, Mola defensively is as suspect and out of his depth as they come as a LB. Though dare I say (as an option) as the LWB in the infamous back 5 formation, he could be okay. Brennan Johnson and Nico Williams are good players. Wharton (Scott) has been utterly woeful too. Yes he scored, but his defending has regressed to Owen Coyle era this Autunm/Winter. Markanday is no worse than Dolan for what I've seen here. If we can stop defending like we're 1-0 down in the 90th minute, we might have a chance here. Forest look suspect in defense.

Think we all expect a defeat here, but I'm desperately hoping for some improvement - especially in XG -and of course avoiding the stupid suicidal defensive possession/mistakes. Looking at that XI, if Gallagher isn't the 1 in a likely 4-2-3-1 formation I despair. Just to put some fear in the group... JRC was RCB with Ayala in training this week, imagine if it's Dolan RWB and JRC playing as a CB in a back 5! ☠️ -

Jon Dahl Tomasson, more like Ton(y) Dull Mowbraysson. I wanted Mowbray out, glad he's gone. But I didn't think we'd replace him with his inferior Danish equivalent. -

This club still reeks of Tony Mowbray. Lowe, Johnson and Benson need replacing. No way the false 9, 5 at the back, Gallagher RW nonsense has transferred naturally between manager changes. -

Maybe we'll get a few matches without non-stop Burnley chants from the BBE after that ass-raping. -

As much as you'll take 0-0 at half time, we need to do better. Suicidal play at times sprinkled in with good solid defending and daftness. They are not in Fulham 2021-2022 quality. Burnley 100% should have a penalty and a worldie save from Kaminski - all brought on by brainless foul on Travis. Brereton WAS fouled, but you never get those. Garrett and Morten struggling. Front 2 look capable, someone needs to realise direct football is how you beat these bastards. Benson currently playing like Reda Khadra is helping us here. Can we survive, will we improve? -

Could be one of 3 formations. Inverted wing backs with Hedges and Brittain. Travis in a 3. 4 at the back with Mola LB. Travis RWB? With Hedges further up. Benson vs Hedges? Who the F 100% knows. -

Jesus Christ I wish we could take advantage of these overloaded counter attacks. Make so many games so much harder when we can't score gimme counters. -

Angry_Pirate replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Oh dear, you've got it all to come. It takes the Dinosaur a while to settle into his false 9, wide striker's, and general tombola team selections. I'd get prepared for 5'6" Pritchard as your (false) number 9 going forward. Least you have two amazing wingers to blitz balls into the box for him. If only you still had Danny Graham. 🤣 What you said about Roberts though is spot on, the guy was largely invisible in the first 45 mins, but for 30 mins in the 2nd half it was like watching prime Carlos Villanueva (in joke). But he was superb, just typical Tony having wingers and no striker's. -

Was nice to enjoy a Mowbray team from the other perspective, watching two wingers blitz the ball into the box all night to only 5'6" Alex Pritchard 🤣 Only 1 moan for me, why I have to hear Vincent Kompany's name chanted from the BBE about 18 times, plus infinite other anti Burnley chants, I do not know. Can we stop with the Burnley fascination, its stinks of inferiority, we're top of the pissing league! -

That had to be Ayala's worst performance in his professional career. But tactically he is set up to fail. You have to laugh by how shit that was. I genuinely think some of our players and staff would try to put out a forest fire by blowing at it. -

This is infuriatingly woeful. The recent first half "tactics" continue to be (dare I say) worse than Mowbray. Buckley, Szmodics, my god. Hope they enjoy it back on the bench for the rest of October. -

Angry_Pirate replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I remember when we played Luton on the last day of "lockdown" season and they had to win to stay up. I was okay with that as I didn't know enough about "little old Luton". Well since that game I've just started to more and more despise them, their Gollum manager especially. If there was ever an away game I'd love us to stuff a team by 4 or 5, his team would be it. Can't see it, a win would be fantastic given the venue and an opposition tactics/mentality we always struggle against, a draw would be the minimum here. A crap loss wouldn't shock me. £10 on Luton. -

JRC is likely staying due to a unfortunate injury further down the U21 RB depth chart. -
Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?
Angry_Pirate replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Likely scenario: Treading water in January and Brereton gets his £6m - £10m move. Best case scenario: We're knee deep in promotion hunt, and he stays, maybe signs. PL push? Worst case scenario: we don't go up and he leaves for free. Nightmare scenario: He leaves for free and we get relegated. None of those scenarios are worth Fulhams £6m in August 2022.
