Summer transfer window 2021.

Have a gut belief that this off-season will make the summer of 2015 feel like the Uncle Jack years. For reference: Enjoy our last season in the Championship peeps. 👎 -

I think I wrote that post 🤣 think I also christened TM the Dinosaur around that time too. Since, not sure I've cheered a goal, and "boo" whenever it is warranted. One fan doesn't quite work like the theoretical butterfly effect. -

I was curious to look back to when I realised Rovers were on a figurative (slower sinking) Titanic with Mowbray: Wish the majority saw what the small minority of us knew 2.5 years ago when we had the chance to change it in the stands. I don't know if I've really enjoyed being a Rovers fan since. -

I don't begrudge Mowbray and Waggott their holidays either... but the season did end (for us) over 7 weeks ago. School kids have less time off for summer. Yet another excuse BRFC get to hide behind for lack of free agent activity. Ps. I am aware of the irony talking about holidays, as Mowbray and Waggots jobs at this point are basically well paid holidays. -

Can we not just sell Buckley for £1.75m and a 40% sell on? 1) He's crap (except to Data nerds). 2) I literally once saw the wind blow him off the ball. This is his make/break season. No way he doesnt see massive game opportunities after we've lost so many players. (Holtby, Dack, Elliott, Evans, Trybull... probably Rothwell). Prove me wrong John... also, maybe eat a steak of two for Christ sake. -

100%. People say "look at how he coached Dack and Armstrong though". Dack was L1 player of the year (at a rubbish Gillingham) before Mowbray got him and always looked a strong player. Armstong, came from a PL academy, and yeah he flopped at Bolton (who were rock bottom btw) and you can argue if you choose to (though lightning pace helps... and you can't coach pace). What you can't argue: Go online and watch the following two Ewood matches: Travis in the WBA 2-0 and Rothwell in the Derby 1-0. Both players were getting one of their first starts for the club (after MONTHS of fans wanting it), both players were electric, energetic and easy MOTM. That form continued for a period of time too. Now look at how both play after 2 years of additional Mowbray/Venus/Lowe. Chalk and cheese. Mowbray and his team are detrimental to player development. -

😉🙌 Only Lenihan Nyambe, Rothwell, Brereton and Armstrong to go. Good news 👍 though JRC was probably max 5th highest priority on that list. -

Whilst I agree, the fact is I doubt many teams (outside of L2) have 6 of their starters out of contract in 1 seasons time. (Which would sell for £30m+ under long-term contracts.) Nyambe, Lenihan, JRC, Rothwell, Brereton and Armstrong will not all resign, and we will be millions out of pocket as a result. Do you think any of those 6 names have to prove themselves this season? But I agree, a Rovers player, without tinted glasses... I'm outta here. Why sign on for more Mowbray years? If we can see the iceberg as fans, you better believe players and their agents can. -

Losing Armstrong at a reduced value is only one piece of the monumental issue we face. Rovers out of contract XI: (2022) Kaminski* Nyambe - Lenihan - Magloire - JRC Johnson - Davenport - Rothwell Butterworth Brereton Armstrong Brereton cost us £6m+, Nyambe, Rothwell, JRC, Armstrong, Lenihan and Kaminski are all "sellable" assets (probably £40m combined) who we'll likely lose tens of millions on either by free transfers in 12 months (or petty tribunal fees), or selling now at a deprecated value, due to only having 1 year to run. Throw in Dacks injuries shredding us of his £15m-£20m value from 18 months ago. We could be looking at a £50m hole worth of players walking next summer. Resign your fucking good players before they get to under 2 years. Or sell them then. Not rocket science. Travis has 2 years to run - a "good club" would be resigning him up to 3 or 4 years this summer too, let alone most of the 11 above. The people running this club make my blood boil. (Least we gave "Stewy" 2 years of twilight money, Ayala a stinking 3 year deal, Smallwood (et al) that bonus 6 weeks of wages, Pears a 4 year deal and are getting "Benno" and "Jonno" back.) -

"Why would he leave Barnsley for Blackburn Rovers" as a rhetorical (he wouldn't) statement, has got to be another low point realisation of our journey. Remember when players like Shearer, Jansen, Mccarthy etc would choose us over the Chelsea's and Man Utd's of the world. Bauer chose Preston, McGinn chose Villa, Kirpe chose WBA. Mowatt likely to chose Barnsley. Barnsley, who were in L1 two years ago and survived due to a financial deduction over Wigan last season... are now lightyears more desirable than us? Sad. -

Wonder how this would go down. The 2011 contract offer is probably still on his desk at home somewhere. Lots of negatives about him leaving, but you have to factor in the Kean/Anderson/Venkys/Relagation aspect of the 18 month cluster fuck that was occurring as he left (for the Premiership). Would you have stayed??? Can he actually still play though? -

Wasn't my point. During a covid "summer" during a lockdown without "holidays" 🤷♂️. We signed Tyrhys Dolan. We singed 4 players on deadline day (Pears, Elliott, Trybull, Douglas) Even had to play our first cup game without a proven keeper as Kaminski was quarantined until 1 day before we played Bournemouth. Ayala was signed after the season started. -

I always "enjoy" this period... we assume nothing is happening because Mowbray and Waggott are on holiday, hence why all the "good" "Bosman's" get snapped up over the next 2 weeks by other clubs... Only to be told by the LT in about 2 weeks time that the transfer activity will increase a week later once Mowbray and Waggott are back from holiday, and after they speak to the owners a week after that. I await the usual shambles. -

100% Yes completely. I listed 20+ players there, but only a half dozen would be realistic for various reasons. Vrancic, Mowatt, Diedhiou or Assombalonga would be ones i look at, plus the Watford 2 if there is even 1% chance. Then there are Adelakun and Harris who could be worth a year or 2 prove it deal given our lack of wingers. Pearson could be the backup CB we need. -

Some interesting names on the retained lists around the league being released. Shame Rovers are the opposite of proactive... Shows they're are improvements out there. Mario Vrancic - Norwich Alex Mowatt - Barnsley Christian Kabasele and Kiko Femenia - Watford Yuri Ribeiro- Notts Forest Hakeeb Adelakun, Henri Landsbury, Famara Diedhiou and Jamie Paterson - Bristol City Alex Pritchard and Oscar Niasse - Huddersfield Jack Wilshire- Bournemouth Henrik Dalsgard - Brentford Junior Hoillett (👀) - Cardiff Martyn Waghorn and Andre Wisdom - Derby Britt Assombalonga - Middlesbrough Matty Pearson - Luton Kadeem Harris and Jordan Rhodes -Sheff Wednesday Andre Ayew and Kyle Naughton- Swansea Could build a team that finishes well above Mowbrays Rovers with them cast offs. -
Mate sent me this picture today. I've asked for updates. Might be the most exciting and progressive part of our summer.

4 pages dedicated to "Armstrong or Rothwell". Knowing this corrupt club and arsehole manager, we'll sell Rothwell for £1.5m (max) in a few weeks to a top six chasing CH team, then "try" to resign Armstrong all summer before selling him in the dying days of August for £15m (max) as we "have to" cash in now. (£10.2m coming to us.) Then... according to Mowbray we won't have time to get a replacement in for either Rothwell or Armstrong as other clubs want "too much money" (thanks to our windfall) or (unlike Rovers {Raya}) will need "a replacement signed first". Long story short and reading the tea leaves - were selling Armstrong AND Rothwell. Spending £0m. Don't get too excited. (At least we'll have Bennett and Johnson at £15-20kpw combined). -

Or even better hope Brentford get promoted - pay us that fee - THEN they sell Raya at a more inflated price. Not that we'll spend it. -

So, working on the assumptions that Mowbray stays, the 3 contracts get triggered, Johnson stays, Wharton and Dack are injured and Armstrong leaves... (ignoring U23s yet to play). We have: GK: Kaminski, Pears RB: Nyambe*, Rankin-Costello* LB: Pickering, 👀 CB: Lenihan, Ayala, Carter, Magloire, 👀, 👀 CDM: Travis, Johnson*, Davenport CM: Rothwell*, Buckley 👀, 👀 WF: Gallagher, Brereton, Dolan, Chapman, Butterworth, 👀 ST: 👀 👀 We have 19 players for August-January (4 technically are out of contract next month). Bleak. Ps. Bannan=Yes, Reach=HELL NO. Wouldn't mind a cheap punt on either Dominic Iorfa or Moses Odubajo if we were shopping Sheff Wed - though both have been injured most of the season. Does anyone know if Harry Cornick (Luton) or Connor Chaplin (Barnsley) are in contract next season? Both really impress me everytime I see them. Surely we'd be interested. -

Can't wait for Mowbray to cry/complain about us having no money to spend < Sell Armstrong for £30m > complaining that clubs are asking for too much money as they know we have sold Armstrong. = 5 loans, 3 free transfers, 1 £400,000 signing (and 3 ex boro players) as the £15m* transfer fund disappears forever. Can't wait. -
"I pigeon-hole Corry as a destructive, simplistic footballer rather than being creative.” Doesn't sound like Tony to pigeon-hole a player (incorrectly.) 🤡 For what it's worth, my ITK down at Ewood gave an "Oh, absolutely, 100%!" repsonse to if he was under the impression DinoMowbs would be Rovers manager next season. 🤮 Officially DONE. 4,000 ST sales - if we're lucky.

Rovers v Rotherham
Angry_Pirate replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
✅💯 Agree with each paragraph there. l'll be sticking £10 on a Rovers/Derby/Forest treble hoping to reverse psychology positive results for Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday... and awful results for Derby and Mowbray. -

Derby need to win all 3 games or we are officially safe. Bennett, Downing, Trybull, Johnson, Elliott, Douglas, Bell, Harwood-Bellis, Branthwaite and anyone else not contracted to BRFC in July 2021 should be sent on holiday tonight and the likes of Pike, Davenport, McBride etc need to get these next 3 games. Oh, and Mowbray should be sacked and forced to walk back to Middlesbrough from Sheffield. -

If anyone accuses anyone of not being a "real fan" for being okay if we lose today... you simply cannot see the forest for the trees.
