  1. Without going back through a list of defenders we have signed but of the top off my head I'm sure that Scott Dann, Shane Duffy, Derrick Williams and Amari'i Bell cost a lot more than £250K combined.
  2. Who was buying though? If they wanted to leave then their agents will have been offering them around yet no bids were made for them as far as we know. Also all 3 have been given new contracts recently.
  3. You talk as though they could have just up sticks and left because they didn't want to play in League 1, all 3 were under contract. So I would give the 'credit' to whoever gave them their contracts.
  4. In other words no, you have made a complete misinterpretation of what I said. I firmly believe after yesterday's capitulation and Mowbray's comments that it is time for a change as he is not the man to sort out the fallings that have been clear since the end of last season. And why the hell are you comparing us with Burton Albion who until 10 years ago had never been in the football league, we are Blackburn Rovers have a bit of ambition rather than using Burton as a barometer. I'm sure Burton fans are delighted to be in League 1 considering 16 years ago they were in the Northern Premier and let's not forget they are also in a League Cup semi-final.
  5. I'd say that Lambert is as good a manager as Mowbray but who like Mowbray his best years seem behind him although his did last longer. To me Bowyer is a very similar type of manager to Mowbray except Bowyer had far more success in the transfer market, both will probably keep you up and around mid table but their conservative approach will stop you progressing any further. Sunderland will get promoted, Burton are overachieving by being in League 1 and Barnsley have yo-yoed between League 1 and the Championship for a while now. But let's be honest any half decent manager would have got us promoted with the squad and budget that we had. The only club of those 3 you can compare us to is Sunderland and I fully expect them to get promoted. I think that there are managers available that are significantly better than Mowbray whether or not they would be appointed is another question. Do you think that Mowbray should have a job for life because you don't trust that anyone better would be appointed?
  6. Bennett played right back at Swansea and was an aberration he was at fault for the 2nd and 3rd goal. He played right back against Sheffield United both goals cam from their left side. At Bristol it was 2-1 when Nyambe went off and Bennett went to right back and he was completely missing for their 3rd goal. Bennett can play in plenty of positions effectively but full back is certainly not one of them he dives into often and his positional play is awful.
  7. If there is no get out of this deal in January then whoever negotiated it should be sacked. Committing £7 Million on someone who by the time the deal is completed isn't even good enough to get onto the bench with no get out clause available, it's negligent. That there appears to be no get out clause inserted I find staggering Forest must be laughing all the way to the bank. Surely you'd put something in just in case you realise he's not god enough and don't want to commit such a sum for him.
  8. I don't think we are inexperienced at all there is plenty of experience in this squad. Graham has played over 100 Premiership games and even more than that at this level. Mulgrew is an international footballer who has played in Celtic title winning teams and played over 30 times in the Champions League. Corry Evans is another international footballer who has played over 200 Championship games. Elliott Bennett has plenty of Championship and Premiership experience, Conway has played over 200 games at this level. Jack Rodwell is an England international with who has won the Premiership. Lenihan and Williams are both now international footballers who have played a fair bit of football at this level. Smallwood has played nearly 200 games at this level. Not what I would call an inexperienced side.
  9. If you are conceding half your goals in the last 20 minutes then fitness is clearly an issue. For the last 20 minutes against Norwich they were absolutely knackered, only one team was ever scoring in those last 20. Yesterday for the winner Bell just tiredly dangles a leg rather that chucking himself at the ball to block it and then Roofe gets a good leap to head the ball whereas a tired looking Lenihan barely gets of the ground. Middlesbrough had 10 men for 75 minutes yet come full time they were the side that looked fresher and were pushing forward to win it.
  10. The game lasts for 90+ minutes though and we don't have the bottle or the fitness levels to see it out for 90 minutes.
  11. He's had 3 transfer windows here an still hasn't realised it, even though it has been abundantly clear
  12. Lenihan has been a big disappointment this season, he's so rash in his decision making and he's not a youngster anymore 25 soon yet I think he looks a poorer player now than he did 2 years ago at this level.
  13. When we went 2-1 my mate said to me at least we will get a point now.
  14. I think we will just about stay up due to our good start and the fact that there is a lot of rubbish around the bottom but I do think that come March we will be in the middle of a relegation battle, unless we recruit well in January.
  15. All 3 promoted clubs started the season well, they have the momentum and element of surprise. But by this time of year the momentum has gone and sides have worked them out and now all 3 are looking over their shoulders towards relegation.
  16. He is Bowyer MK2 and we will get as far with him as we got with Bowyer, nowhere.
  17. How many more points do we have to drop before at least some responsibility lies with the manager, its been costing us points since the first day of the season and it still hasn't been addressed. As for getting rid of Mowbray if we keep sliding down the table the way we are then he will be gone, if there is one thing we know for sure with the owners' it is that they are not afraid to sack a manager.
  18. I never had any faith that we would see out stoppage time for 3 points and when I looked and saw there was 3 minutes left after they equalised I feared the worst. I said when the players we celebrating like mad when we scored I wouldn't celebrate just yet we've got all of stoppage time to go. Sad.
  19. He's no Warnock when it comes to on the pitch though. If we had a manager like him then we would be in the play offs.
  20. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17320535.leeds-united-3-blackburn-rovers-2-tony-mowbray-reaction/ Does Mowbray not do in game management? Hardly surprising that a goal down in stoppage time that they stuck a centre half up front. Why not react tell Williams to go in at centre back and put Bell at Full back (what exactly was Bell's role in the game today anyway?).
  21. Away to Bristol Rovers a 93rd minute equaliser. There were also a couple others games towards the end of the season where we got lucky, MK Don's missed a sitter in the last minute and how Southend didn't score in stoppage time I will never know. It's not something that has just happened this season but it is costing us more this season as teams have the quality to make us pay.
  22. We're only going one way in the table and I don't think Mowbray has what it is required to turn it around. I just hope that we have established a big enough gap and can clobber together enough points over the next 4 months to keep our heads above water.
  23. If it was a one off perhaps but it has happened repeatedly this season and he hasn't been able to address it, instead he shrugs his shoulders and says 'that's where we are'. POOR! As for last season with the budget and the squad we had any half decent manager would have got us out of League 1.
  24. He's out done himself in the negativity stakes today. Amari'i Bell on the wing, what has he ever showed in nearly a year at the club to suggest that he is a winger.
