If he's not involved in cup games then he really should be looking for a loan move

Brereton will be Danny Graham's long-term replacement. Possibly a couple more players coming in on loan before the window shuts as well.

Very interesting that Sam Hart and Peter Whittingham don't even make the squad against Lincoln. No mention of any injuries as far as I can see. Hart has been on the bench over the last few games in the Championship so raises question marks why he wouldn't be given a runout this evening. I expect Whittingham will terminate his contract by mutual consent or the club are looking for another club to take him on a free. Hart will likely go out on loan now we have cover.

Reed has only just signed. Rodwell hasn't played so much as a behind closed doors game in yonks.

Sam Gallagher on loan until January could be an incredibly shrewd move. Especially if we loaned out Nuttall with a recall come January. Sam Gallagher could offer us a more complete forward option.

I expect Caddis, Hart, Whittingham and Gladwin will leave come the end of the season. Rovers will offer new contracts to Mulgrew, Evans and possibly Rodwell depending on how well he does. Downing, Conway and Graham have options for a further 12 months on their contract. Again, Palmer and Reed might be subject to bids by Rovers depending how well they do this season. Granted I think we will struggle to sign either. Nuttall signed a new contract last January that will keep him at the club until 2021.

Cracking signing! The team needs layers and options. Reed is exactly what we need in a long season. Travis should be loaned out until January with an option (Rovers allowing) for the loan to be extended until the end of the season.

Why would we sell him as a proven footballer for £10 million when we are spending over £6 million on Brereton who is largely unproven. If Dack goes for anywhere under £17 million then the club may as well remain where it is right now. Ie: The Championship. A previous comment said that they could see Dack in the Premier League in 2020. Wouldn't it be nice if he was in a Blackburn Rovers shirt. Show some ambition and retain players of good quality. Sometimes it is better to deprive yourself of a few transfers to peak the excitement and hold on to a good proven footballer who makes the world of difference.

Having a couple of injuries and then looking at the bench shows that we are lacking in numbers. I still hope Reed comes in as an option. I can't help but feel we could do with a backup attack minded midfielder to compensate if Dack picks up an injury.
