  1. Relegated with his team in the 1st division of Polish football last season.
  2. Steve Kean was an economic basket case who asset stripped the squad of value and Premier League talent leaving us in state we are today which resulted in our previous relegation to League One. 3. Just trying to remind people of what was previously stated as per the 3 lists and how things stand right now. We have been linked to several players who are just agent speak trying to get renegotiated terms or a free transfer move.
  4. Agent talk about at the moment. As of the day before yesterday Mowbray hadn't been told how much money he was going to have available to him this summer in terms if transfer fees, agent fees and wages. He still has those three lists. Cheap players, more expensive players and top target players. But hasn't a clue what he can search for as yet.
  5. Wish Matty Platt all the best with his move. But was astonished when I looked at his profile earlier and saw that he was 22. I thought he was 18. Compare the number of competitive games he played to Wharton who is the same age and you will realise that this was probably the best move for all concerned.
  6. Tom White has signed for Bolton Wanderers on a season long loan. Tom teams up with the Trotters
  7. Just re-signed for MK Dons after being initially released by them at the end of the season. He only signed for them on a short-term deal and managed to play more games (10) for them in 6 months than he did for us in 36 months (8) due to injuries.
  8. I said it the other day. If King and Raya both make moves this summer, the usual comments about money being available if needed will be made. But we will rely on free's and loans again. Might be a signing here or there on minimal fees and maybe even sign a player for half a million or less. But we won't make any signings of real cost and value. The club is hemorrhaging money. Edit: In fact I will go further and say that if we sold Dack/Travis/Lenihan/Armstrong, we would still be looking for the same framework of players. Free's, minimal fees, half million types and loans.
  9. I would put hard cash on our total budget being less than that.
  10. A couple of players refused to play following the end of the lockdown as family members, especially children had vulnerabilities including lung issues that could potentially kill them if exposed to Corona. This meant the players continuing the full lockdown with the agreement of clubs. Sensible measure until a proper treatment for the disease is developed if you ask me. Football isn't as important as a persons life.
  11. Could somebody answer 4 questions for me? 1. What is Bennett's playing role at Rovers? 2. How many assists has he gained in the last season? 3. How many goals has he gained in the last season? 4. How many decisive defensive performances has he put in this season? When you answer the above questions and realise he is one of our highest earners at the club. Surely you have to ask yourself if there is anyone out there who is available and better?
  12. Couple of players off the list I think might be worth a trial are Tom Carroll and Alexander Milošević. Carroll could be a steal if he can get back into form/fitness and has plenty of experience. Milošević at 6ft 4in would add to our tall defensive backline and give us a further threat at set pieces. We definitely need 2 CB's this summer. More if as expected Mulgrew, Williams and maybe even Wharton depart. Couldn't hurt to bring them in for a trial.
  13. Jordan Archer is the player I'd like to see Rovers sign. 27 years old. 6ft 1in. Classy player. Plenty of experience at different levels. Impressed during his short spell at Oxford and signed up by Fulham on a short-term deal. Should be free or available on a minimum fee.
  14. In a Championship challenging team he can't be a starter and his wages couldn't justify his presence as a bench option. Wish him well.
  15. For me this summer we obviously have some hefty work to do. But I would still like to see a couple of departures. Have obviously read people's views over the last week or two and bit my tongue waiting on the final list of confirmed departures through expired contracts. My thoughts are: Sell/Release: Derrick Williams (injury prone / inconsistent / wages) Charlie Mulgrew (injury prone / inconsistent / wages) Elliott Bennett (wages / inconsistent / poor in natural posion + worse in other) Players some want to depart, but I think would be a mistake: Bradley Johnson (experience needed) Harry Chapman (can come good) Sam Gallagher (tall option) Ben Brereton (ball play option) Players I want retained: Stewart Downing (experience / leader)
  16. From what I gather, Mowbray will be relying on Free's and Loan's to patch together a working squad next season. Shall post the top two division Released Lists to give an indicator of what we have available to us. Players on high wages or are above our station can obviously be skimmed over by readers. Also expect Tony to make use of the International Market this summer, with Germany a country of interest. 17. I'm still here. Became a father back in August moving in with my partner and football rather went on the back-burner.
  18. Bad. Focus of last seasons failings was defence. We ended the transfer window letting five 1st team defenders go and only bringing in two. Including Harrison Reed, we had three 1st team midfielders depart, and we had two 1st team midfielders brought in. Our front-line saw one forward in, and one forward out. In terms of depth and quality. We failed on both counts in my opinion.
  19. Summer Ins: Stewart Downing Bradley Johnson Sam Gallagher Christian Walton Tosin Adarabioyo Greg Cunningham X 6 Summer Outs: Craig Conway Paul Downing Jack Rodwell Ben Gladwin David Raya Joe Nuttall Scott Wharton Tyler Magloire Charlie Mulgrew X 9 Wages could be offset in January from players being loaned out. On the otherhand, it could also be offset by not being relegated! ?
  20. As I just said in the Mowbray Out topic. Starting to think we should go back to a 442/4411 formation and play players in the roles they are accustomed to. To have enough players to make this happen and be comfortable for the rest of the season. We could sign the following now. Jordan Archer (GK) Danny Simpson (RB) Ashley Williams (CB) Lazar Marković (LM) These players signed on contracts until the end of the season can do so with the understanding that if they perform they will get new lengthy contracts. When January comes around we can look to move out Jayson Leutwiler, Sam Hart, Matthew Platt, Richie Smallwood and Dominic Samuel on loan or others who aren't cutting it or not getting a 1st team look-in.
  21. To be fair. I had this earlier. If you type out Chris Hughton on a mobile. Auto-correct rather bizarrely adds a 'o'. Question for all on here. Do people believe that the formation changes over the last few seasons have worked? When Mowbray came in, he kept our basic shape and gave the team better direction. Now he is changing the shape. tactics and method of the team for a second time in two season's and like last season it didn't work. Mowbray's attempt to change the player positions for me has been bizarre and bordering on a bonkers waste of talent. Personally think we should go back to a 442/4411 formation and play players in the roles they are accustomed to. This is what I would do if the Rovers manager at present: Goalkeepers: Christian Walton Jayson Leutwiler Andy Fisher Jordan Archer (bring in on a contract until the end of the season) Right back: Ryan Nyambe Danny Simpson (bring in on a contract until the end of the season) Left back: Greg Cunningham (start ahead of Bell) Amari'i Bell Sam Hart Centre back: Derrick Williams Tosin Adarabioyo Darragh Lenihan Ashley Williams (bring in on a contract until the end of the season) Joe Grayson Matthew Platt Right midfield: Harry Chapman Elliott Bennett Left midfield: Stuart Downing Lazar Marković (bring in on a contract until the end of the season) Central attacking midfielder: Joe Rothwell Bradley Dack Central defensive midfielder/central defender: Bradley Johnson Richie Smallwood Jacob Davenport Lewis Travis Corry Evans Joe Rankin-Costello John Buckley Forwards (who should ONLY be played as FORWARDS): Adam Armstrong Sam Gallagher Danny Graham Dominic Samuel Ben Brereton Those players signed on contracts until the end of the season can do so with the understanding that if they perform they will get new lengthy contracts. When January comes around we can look to move out Jayson Leutwiler, Sam Hart, Matthew Platt, Richie Smallwood and Dominic Samuel on loan.
  22. Ashley Williams Younès Kaboul Ondrej Mazuch Joel Lynch Danzell Gravenberch Jonas Olsson Will Packwood Jonathan Spector Gareth McAuley Greg Halford Delphin Tshiembe Matthew Kilgallon Anton Ferdinand
  23. 4 goals conceded in 2 games = Goalkeeper/defence isn't the problem Had the minority of possession and failed to create clear-cut chances = Midfield isn't a problem 0 shots on target, whilst four forwards were on the pitch = Everything's fine!
  24. He was sacked by Brighton earlier this summer.
