  1. According to the last pre Venkys set of accounts in 2010 there were 253 employees compared with 221 in 2023 so a loss of 32 jobs over those 13 years. I don't think anybody is suggesting that the club should just exist to provide employment but it seems to me to be callous to be actively hoping for a course of events that will cause some people hardship.
  2. Last season was 15,583 so down 5% or so but home games against Burnley, Leeds and Sunderland coming up in the next few weeks which will push the average up.
  3. We played friendlies in the periods now set aside for the Nations League
  4. We wouldn't be able to pick other times - they are taken up by club competitions .
  5. But the South American, Asian and Oceanic countries are currently playing World Cup qualifiers, the African nations are playing African Nations Cup qualifiers and the Central American nations are playing in their own Nations League. So you are left with the likes of Brunei and Hong Kong to play against ! Tuchel would not be impressed.
  6. According to the Venkys London accounts for March 2024 published earlier this week the debt owed by the club stood at £134m. Some of the money initially injected as debt has been converted in to equity. Having said that, given that the club's turnover is less than £30m there is not much effective difference between that number and £250m.
  7. You think a club playing in the West Lancashire League will have over 200 employees ? According to the club's 2023 accounts the number of employees at the club increased from 209 in 2022 to 221 in 2023.
  8. I don't think we can pick when we play. Certain periods of the season are allocated for internationals. Also, if all the other countries are playing in the Nations League who do we play against ?
  9. You might be happy but all the people who lose their livelihoods as a result would not be. A very selfish attitude on your part.
  10. Superb win. That first goal - with 42 passes - if the Dutch team of the first half of the 1970s had scored it would have been shown on television for the next 30 years.
  11. You'll be leading this disruption then, will you ?
  12. I wasn't referring to the people on here. I was referring to this wider audience that KHod wants to reach out to - and what they might think.
  13. I think if you really want to go to a wider audience you are going to need to be a lot more specific about things that you think are not right about the club if you want to be taken seriously. At the moment it's so vague that people are just going to look at the recent run of disappointing results and think "just another entitled supporter who can't deal with defeat".
  14. I've been a Rovers fan for over 60 years so require no lectures from you as to what they say or feel. For your benefit, and others above, I think the club has been run very poorly by the owners. My reply was to a very vague posting about bringing our "plight" to "wider attention", apparently through disruption to matches, which I pointed out has in the past led to points deductions and criminal prosecutions . What plight and whose attention was not explained. Given that in the next few months the government are bringing in legislation for some form of regulation of football under the aegis of an Independent Regulator those arguing for "action" would be best advised to work out what grievances they might want to take to the Regulator.
  15. What exactly do you mean by "our plight" ?
  16. "Constant disruption" leads to points deductions for the club and criminal prosecutions for those involved. Your suggestion would not help anybody.
  17. A goal involvement every 254 minutes for the the marauding midget is better than that of Todd Cantwell who has 2 assists in 530 minutes.
  18. Comments like that can have a nasty habit of coming back and biting you. Moran has a record for Stoke of 2 goals and 1 assist from 763 minutes.
  19. You are concentrating on FFP but isn't it the case that a new test is being introduced restricting wages to a percentage of turnover ? I thought I'd read there was an EFL meeting in February to hammer out the details.
  20. The fact the debt is still on our balance sheet suggests the owners still harbour hopes of repayment.
  21. Debts north of £150m probably don't, though.
  22. That doesn't answer my question. Majority fan ownership starting now would begin from a position of the club having annual operating losses running in to several millions - as is the case for almost all Championship clubs without parachute payments - plus facing the regular demands to "show some ambition" by embarking on a transfer spree with no guarantee that it would lead to promotion. Where does the money come from ?
  23. Yes - he's currently some way short of last season's form which is why he's not been in the England squad.
  24. How would majority fan ownership work for a club like ours which is dependent on funding from the owners to the tune of millions of pounds a year ?
