  1. But if they don't pick up the phone................. ?
  2. The best managers don't have a "style" - they work on the basis of what suits the individual best. Some people need kicking - some need cuddling..
  3. Best was finished at the age of 27 - he went out drinking for an evening with my father at the age of 25.
  4. I think to date anyone who has let the owners "know in no uncertain terms" anything at all has lost their job shortly afterwards so why should anyone now ?
  5. Nobody will blame him for being as good as Raheem - who is one one of the world's best players - but he can make as much effort and have the same attitude. Sterling had some space in his garden at home and set up a mini-pitch so he could practice his shooting - Chapman would set up a mini-bar.
  6. The owners paint the landscape - the manager - whoever it is - just has to add the finishing touches.
  7. But what about tracking back, tackling , being fit enough to keep moving off the ball, having the discipline to defend set pieces ? Qualities that the likes of Raheem Sterling have but can Prince Harry make the effort ?
  8. Waddling on to the pitch with a physique last seen on Cyril Smith might be the reason ?
  9. The owners have no shortcomings at all then ?
  10. If he doesn't know his budget how can he make the early moves in the market that people want ?
  11. Correct - but there will be people coming on here to blame Mowbray for that.
  12. According to The Sun Cowley has said he wants to take a break from football.
  13. Mowbray's waiting to hear his budget.
  14. That's a blast from the past.I think it was just the one or maybe two seasons although as you say he could score goals from midfield. He has gone on to have a successful career in the brewery business.
  15. Won the Derby yet again this year.
  16. Kiefer Moore was sold yesterday to QPR.
  17. Yes - Coventry and Wycombe are 2 of the clubs whose own position means that they are likely to oppose proposals to relax the FFP rules.
  18. If we're buyers you are correct. The question is : will we be in that position ?
  19. It's probably going to prove the case that with many clubs forced sellers transfer fees below the very top level will reduce.
  20. Another poster made a statement about the Bank of India. Nobody has queried that statement. I drew a conclusion based on that statement - fail to see how that is "hypocritical". Of course there will be a barrow load of applicants - most of them presently unemployed. You are living in hope that somehow one of them would be better than Tony Mowbray - who would be expensive to move on with 2 years left on his contract. I am afraid that I am not as optimistic as you.
  21. Noticeable that you don't address the actual point that was made.
