  1. Wilson and King would be too good for pretty well every Championship level back four.
  2. With players at Bournemouth desperate to get out what do you think their team will be ?
  3. Rather than not doing anything maybe he's looked at what's happening elsewhere in the economy and come to the conclusion that it will be more cost effective for the club to do its business online.
  4. In the modern world the only players who will really want to be t the club will be those who do not receive higher wage offers elsewhere.
  5. Running away is not "leadership". It's the easiest thing for you to say that somebody else should give up their job without another one to go to. "Fans' esteem" doesn't pay the bills.
  6. Which player can "guarantee" promotion ? Could get injured in his first game.
  7. If we'd "left it" you and others would have been on here and complaining about "lack of ambition".
  8. This is just the violent unthinking language and has no place in a discussion amongst rational adults.
  9. Precisely - much better to get the right players in eventually than engage in some macho nonsense in making the first raft of signings. Look at Stoke last season.
  10. It's blindingly obvious that Kipre and his agent were playing a long game - waiting to see if a Premier League came in for him with the resulting increase in wage offer - whilst knowing that we and probably others in the Championship were there as a backstop.
  11. I don't think the agents for those players would have been doing their job properly if they had signed for us when more lucrative offers were coming.
  12. If we sign him I hope you are proven right that he is an improvement but I would point out that his whoscored.com rating is inferior to Walton.
  13. Whoscored.com gave Kaminski a rating of 6.39 for his performances in the Europa League last season.
  14. Pleased that he's a gent - wouldn't want someone common.
  15. I didn't say it was due to the football side of his life - nor has he.My initial comment was made to illustrate the effect that Covid can have on the finances of even the wealthiest which means that those relying on them to continue providing finance may have to learn to be disappointed.
  16. His racing interests are a hobby not a business.
  17. Good post and see my earlier post about Trevor Hemmings.
  18. Those still thinking billionaires are unaffected by the Covid crisis might want to buy today's Racing Post in which Trevor Hemmings has announced that he's selling about 50 of his string of 75 racehorses. He cites his health(he's 85) and the effect that Covid has had on his businesses. That doesn't sound like good news for Preston fans hoping for an injection of funds to finance transfers.
  19. Yes - we can clinch the title then.
  20. Could be a good time to catch them as they are losing players left right and centre.
  21. This is correct. If the Indian auditors are operating to the same standards as the UK Venky's interests in the club - whether in the form of equity or loans - should be included in their accounts at the lower of cost or open market value. I would estimate a debt free Championship club like ours to be worth approx £35m so that rather than the £200m they've put in is what should now be the carrying value in their accounts.
  22. On the whoscored.com website the ratings for these and a couple of goalkeepers last season were : David Raya 6.68 Christian Walton 6.63 David Marshall 6.47 Keiran Westwood 6.41
  23. I would imagine that clubs where the owners' businesses are suffering particularly will be the ones where the owners are not injecting funds for transfers. Seems logical.
  24. No - I would imagine it has caused a number of clubs issues.
