  1. With that lot the team come out on to pitch for games to "Living In the Past" by Jethro Tull.
  2. Thanks for being polite with your reply. My posts were more trying to point out to Mercer that the comparisons he was making were unfair regarding relegation and were in my opinion complete nonsense regarding our promotion season when you looked at the facts. I think some of the criticism of Mowbray is grotesque because frequently it is based upon that sort of bending of the facts. I also dislike the personalised abuse of him - "feck off" etc- which I think is totally undeserved. I actually think Warnock has a superb record as a Championship manager although I suspect he won't get Middlesbrough up this season.
  3. O'Neill took over Stoke with 31 games to play so had plenty of time to turn things around. Warnock took over Middlesbrough with them outside the relegation zone. In contrast Mowbray had 15 games in which to save a team that were 23rd. The facts don't lie.
  4. Who do you think there is at Ewood Park who would have heard of the managers at Barnsley and Reading ?
  5. How did we "unconvincingly" limp home in Division 1 - we got club record numbers for points and wins. Mowbray didn't take us down with 22 points from 15 games - Coyle did with 29 points from 31 games. If Mowbray is so bad why do you keep placing bets on his team to win ?
  6. We've conceded 27 in 23 games so if that rate is maintained will concede 54 this season. Coyle did nothing better.
  7. Good day and Dack's return to goalscoring hopefully indicates that we will be better from now on at getting that crucial first goal which usually leads to us winning.
  8. Flattered to hear you are hanging on my every word but have been with family as in the immortal words of Noddy Holder "It's Christmas !"
  9. The biggest attendances in British sport came immediately in the years after the Second World War when people were desperate to get back to entertainment.
  10. I can't see what other pastimes people will have discovered in a pandemic.
  11. Giggs has some issues that mean the Wales job could become available in the next year or so. I suspect Hughes has his eye on that.
  12. Problem is that Magloire isn't in the starting line up with Hartlepool which does not bode well for appearing in the Championship.
  13. You would normally get 3 minutes for the substitutions that were made plus there was quite a long stoppage for an injury to a Rotherham player and a bit of time wasting. On another topic relating to time I have never seen players(ours) allowed to take so long over throw ins.
  14. It's a results business - we got the result.
  15. What I find extraordinary in this is that if last night had happened in reverse and we had lost to a team after having the better of the game - particularly if it was a team managed by Warnock or Bilic , or whoever the latest flavour of the month is - people would have been demanding that we get a manager who can chisel out results against the odds. Yet when we manage that with Mowbray people hold it against him.
  16. Your idea of the right team was to take off the player who had the assist for our first goal and then scored the winner.
  17. Exactly. This is the league where everybody beats everybody else.
  18. If you don't research properly don't criticise.
  19. Which games did we concede late goals last season ?
  20. Congratulations to the players and the manager for the never say die fighting spirit that is the hallmark of every successful team.
  21. I was responding to a post that cited a club who are on their fifth permanent manager since June 2016
