  1. I don't think anybody on here was thinking that way in 1995 ! The Premier League has seen the general interest in football increase significantly as evidenced by much larger attendances.
  2. Yet you consistently call for firings of practically every member of senior management at the club for which the bill would run in to millions of pounds - why do you think that is affordable in the present circumstances ?
  3. Will do when it's kick off time for then.
  4. The Times have nominated Christian Walton the Championship player of the week for his performance on saturday.
  5. Yes - will be forever - so boring.
  6. I did say "If the keeper is good". I was referring to the principle of using loanees.
  7. Which supporter owned clubs cannot challenge.
  8. With only one club ever winning the title - so boring nobody outside Germany is interested in their football.
  9. Spot on. This is why supporter ownership models don't work.
  10. If the keeper is good - no problem if not ours - eg Henderson with Sheffield United.
  11. "Spending in line with income" - do you ever see the comments on here which overwhelmingly consist of supporters urging the opposite - "roll the dice" etc
  12. How would the government stop something like this ?
  13. If you've got something to buy with.
  14. I concur but if nobody's buying there's nothing to sell.
  15. Bury went under due to overspending, their supporters didn't try to stop it. Here the whole time we see Rovers supporters shouting for millions to be spent on new signings, getting rid of TM, hiring some glossy successor . The source of the money to do this under your scheme ? Nowhere to be seen. Only possible for rich owners; rich people like to control - no different in 1991 to 2000.
  16. Who would fund our losses ? You ? Owners will only put money in if they decide how it is spent .
  17. Where does the money come from to finance the "investment" - in reality excess of expenditure over income - that fans demand for their club under your proposal ?
  18. Fan ownership would make that outcome more likely.
  19. With the same club champions every single year.
  20. How do you define "fans" for this purpose ? On the face of it what you are proposing would have prevented Jack Walker from funding our success. I don't think rich people would ever fund a club without control.
  21. Fair question. Firstly I think the economic storm that is hitting is such that just surviving for the next couple of years will put us in front of many others. For those worried about us going down I would go so far as to say that in the divisions outside the Premier League just not going bust my well be sufficient to avoid relegation due to there being so many clubs who will go under. The present owners are useless and I never "defend" them. Progress is only likely to occur when they go but I would like there to be some kind of face saving deal for the next ownership group to move in, easy to say of course with there being no evidence that the owners think like that- I just can't believe that going in to administration can be the way forward. With the present owners under current economic circumstances I think moving on TM would be a mistake - the replacement is more likely to be a Phil Brown than a Chris Hughton and FFP constraints are a further deterrent to someone good. With new owners and a better financial outlook I would agree that it would be best for TM to go and move for a proven promotion specialist like Hughton.
  22. Isn't there a covenant over it which severely restricts the possibility of development ?
  23. What assets can they cash in ?
  24. We'll see over the next 12 months or so how "serious" those offers turn out to be.
