  1. Thanks @Gav I went to all of those - great memories. I remember 'standing' on the terrace behind the goal at Goodison, couldn't see a darn thing!
  2. Hyam being out is a big miss. 2-0 Robins
  3. Dyche for Tomasson? In a heartbeat.
  4. Whereever the fault lies - be it the owners through to our hapless exec team - it should not be acceptable, in any way, for several high value players to leave a FFP challenged club for nothing. The club will tell us that there was nothing more that they could have done, when actually, it is precisely their responsibility is to make sure that something else was done, to serve the best interests of BRFC. Some people choose to believe them; I for one, don't.
  5. Exactly, which harks back to my original 'dimwit' comment.
  6. Absolute tosh. Brereton has had nothing but support from the fanbase right throughout. If you go to Ewood, you'd know this. It's funny how most other clubs find a way to trade players and realise some value back. Not us though, for some reason. You just keep on believing what they tell you.
  7. Quite the opposite. I'd argue that it was very, very fortunate how it turned out. Brereton changed from an absolute donkey with no value, into a 15m player in a matter of months. The dimwits in charge didn't recognise and capitalise on this, hence we are where we are.
  8. The supposed model is all about effective succession planning. Buy low, sell high, and replace ad infinitum. We're light years away from this.
  9. I'm 54 and don't expect to see us play PL football again - certainly not any time soon - thanks to the idiots who run the show. But at the end of the day, it's our club. It's not Venky's or Waggot's club - it's ours. Even though I'm not as emotionally invested in Rovers as I used to be, I'm not letting them stopping me from doing what I've been doing since 1975. One day they will be gone.
  10. Would it? We're only 5 points better off than 10th.
  11. I personally don't mind Morton. I think he's decent enough on his day, but has a tendency to drift out of games and lose the ball in dangerous positions. He's no better than Wharton though, yet Wharton is one of ours and should start over Morton for that reason (IMO). I don't think any of our midfield options - Morton/Wharton/Garrett/Travis/Buckley - are strong enough or consistently good enough (yet) for a side chasing the play offs. To push for a top 6 spot, an additional, solid midfielder, is a necessity.
  12. Ah cheers - it was Emerton I was thinking of, not the Greek guy (Donis?)
  13. Was the Wolves game the one where that Greek winger of ours (can't remember his name) did that amazing dribble and scored? (I could be thinking of some other game)
  14. Isn't Serie A on BT Sport?
  15. None of them will be easy. There's probably only Burnley in this division who I'd put money on winning 4 games on the spin.
  16. I don't expect us to finish in the top 6, so I won't be disappointed if we don't. If we do, however, I'd be ecstatic!
  17. I'm certainly more confident than I was at the start of the season, when I genuinely thought we'd struggle. Tomasson has definitely exceeded my expectations on that front. I think we'll finish around 8th or 9th. Norwich, West Brom, Watford and Boro will strengthen and take the play off spots, I reckon.
  18. It's all about timing with the Super League. They got the timing wrong last time, trying to rush it through. If they bide their time and find the right moment, it will no doubt happen. Money talks.
  19. My view would obviously change should we ever get back there, but I have next to no interest in the Premier League. It's just a shopping competition between the mega rich and their play things. Outside of watching the Rovers, I get my football fix watching La Liga. The error strewn Athletico/Barca game last night was quite exciting.
  20. It doesn't make it right for those supporters who paid good money to see Tommsson put a competitive team out. I recall that you didn't attend the Forest game, so - as per - no doubt that you didn't care one jot about those who did and spent good money and time doing so.
  21. I was referring to the Forest game. I've not seen the predicted line up for today.
  22. Well said. They've had a reprieve this time around, and possibly for another season or two in the top flight, but their time will come. Just as ours did.
  23. For me, if the club choose to sell Brereton now, then the difference to our league position is finishing around 8th (with), or 10th (without). I genuinely don't think that keeping him will make that much difference to where we end up this season. Banking a few million for him gives us the opportunity in theory - yeah, yeah I know... - to get 2 or 3 players who could improve the team all round for next season.
  24. That doesn't make it right.
  25. I wasn't expecting it to be as changed as it was, certainly with the opportunity that a win would present. More fool me, I suppose.
