  1. From what I've seen of Hirst, he doesn't exhibit a single attribute - not even a glimmer of one - which makes me think he'll make it as a Championship standard player. We just need to cut our losses, send him back, and find a proper replacement who can make an impact now.
  2. I don't think any of our centre mids are consistenly good enough for a team looking at promotion.
  3. If we needed further evidence, last night's game showed, to myself at least, that... Mola and HIrst are beyond terrible. There's no point expending any more time on them. Szmodics is no where near sufficient quality. All he does is run down dead ends as he's so one footed. A pauper's version of a poor man's Dack. SWharton is going backwards at a rate of knots. I don't know what's happened there. AWharton needs to learn that, when it's not going for him, he needs to drop his languid style and roll his sleeves up. I was pretty disappointed walking off the ground. Forest weren't all that much, I didn't think.
  4. There is no pricing strategy, it's all off-the-hoof, short term thinking that starts off at the beginning of each season with how to fleece the core season ticket base. I thought that they should have done a combo ticket deal for the Preston and Forest games. Something like £20 for PNE and get a Forest ticket for a tenner. That would have seen bigger home gates for both matches. Opportunity missed....yet again.
  5. After the Norwich game, I'm looking forward to this now (yes, my mood changes with the wind!) I hope we put them to the sword and send their gobby nouveau fans home with their tails between their legs. 2-1 Rovers
  6. I've belatedly reached the conclusion that it's impossible to have an adult, reasoned debate with him. How it took me so long to realise this, I'll never know!
  7. Well played Argentina. Well played France. And good for you, Lionel Messi.
  8. I popped down earlier to pick up Forest tickets. I wanted a calendar as a present for someone, but yeah you guessed it, a week before Christmas and they have none left.
  9. That's not what I said. Rather, I implied that 'if' your attendance was affected, you would have a different take. You know, a hypothetical situation.... I enjoy reading a lot of your posts, Chaddy, But more often than not, you either cannot see, or refuse to see, the opinion and situation of others. It comes across as all about you, I'm afraid.
  10. So answer the queston yourself then! Should the current women's manager be in situ or not? My guess is that you won't directly answer the question for obvious reasons.
  11. It's not a case of whether you've personally seen the women's team or not; rather is a matter of principle. You're evading the question. Should the women's manager be in place or not? Per your logic - that England managers should be English - then the answer will be 'no'. Unless, of course, you're applying different selection criteria to the men versus the women.
  12. I suspect that - should home fixtues be altered at the whim of Sky which impacted Chaddy's ability to attend - his tune would change. 'I'm alright, Jack', used to be the phrase, I believe.
  13. Eek. There's barely a tackle in that side. Prove us wrong, Rovers.
  14. 'Exceptional' is how I'd describe the majority of Sean Dyche's signings at Burnley, and certainly not a word I'd use to describe more than a small handful of Mowbray's signings.
  15. If you think about it, the number of shirts the club thinks they can shift will correlate to the number of supporters they think they can atract. If they can't be arsed with being proactive in increasing the latter, then implicitly they'll never need to increase the former, so they just lazily carry on as-is.
  16. It could be rephrased to 'They're not bothered if a decent number don't turn up', hence the lack of effort.
  17. FWIW, my opinion is that - with all other aspects and abilities being equal - it's preferable to choose an English manager over a foreign one, as they'd naturally be more invested etc. However, to choose an English manager over a foreign one, purely because they're English and not necessarily the better choice otherwise, is short sighted.
  18. I think Middlesborough are one to watch. They seem to be on a roll and have the Clampets up next.
  19. Presumably then, you are of the opinion that the manager of the women's team should not be in that role, even though she's just won the Euros, purely because she's not English.
  20. In what will be a backs-to-the wall game, I'd be bringing Ayala back in as he's the best we've got when it comes to dealing with pressure in our box. As for the midfield, we need someone who can harry and play out-balls, so Adam Wharton. I can't see beyond anything other than another pasting. 3-0 Norwich.
  21. Chaddy moving the goal posts. Shock. Horror.
  22. Tell that to the Lionesses.
  23. He's not even been in the squad for a lot of games recently. That suggests to me that Tomasson doesn't rate him. If he's not playing, it's only a matter of time before he goes somewhere where he is.
  24. Every chance. Buckley is a professional footballer. He'll go whereever to get game time.
  25. JDT must sign off on them though, otherwise the whole thing is unworkable. But then again .... 🙂
