  1. A faux pas to quote myself I know, but just need to add; I've never understood this mentality of "it happened before I was born so I don't know about it" It completely and utterly moronic. It's anti-intellectual. It's complete fucking bollocks. The Holocaust happened before most of us were born, does that mean we shouldn't know or understand what it was or why it happened? No. There is no excuse for such levels of ignorance and stupidity. (Obviously I'm not comparing Rovers to the Holocaust, it was an example)
  2. Naturally I would expect the Rovers Trust to be well underway with this process already, forming a strong union with other fan representative groups. Whether that's actually happening is another matter. They're not big on communicating with the membership unfortunately. The only solution is to take the fight to the very top with a united front.
  3. The difference is though that the 1960 FA Cup final was a one off event. This has been continuous for 15 years.
  4. The only solution is a change to the way football clubs are owned and operated. They absolutely should never be allowed to be fully privately owned as they are our national and cultural heritage and a cornerstone of local communities. This change can only be brought about by fan organisation from all clubs demanding this. The 51% model that operates in Germany, although not perfect, is a good way to fo this as it allows for investment and involvement from outside capital but gives the membere, i e the fans, majority control over their own club. Before the naysaying lemmings chime in with "£20million a year", there'd have to be a transition period from private to fan ownership whereby the membership is not liable for debts and losses accrued under the old ownership. This would be to allow the clubs to financially get themselves together. Or we could just carry on doing absolutely nothing....
  5. The club dies a slow and painful death when cowards sit there in silence and do nothing.
  6. For it to be dead that would mean it was alive in the first place.
  7. It's ok, plays fast and loose with the actual facts though.
  8. The Wildhearts - Red Light Green Light
  9. Hahaha. Blowing a whistle a criminal offence? Even for you that's absolutely one of the most brainless things I've ever heard.
  10. Agree with that. My favourite album is probably For Your Pleasure then the nex maybe Manifesto.
  11. That's not going to happen. Keep throwing stuff on the pitch to get the game stopped. Whistling throughout the match, you can get packs of 20 or so off Amazon for a tenner or something. Try and get the games called off by causing as much disruption as possible. Make it so a match at Ewood Park cannot be completed. The tennis balls last season were a good idea. Tennis balls and whistles, venkys out banners galore.
  12. I actually really like the later stuff. It was way ahead of it's time. One of the rare occasions where every release by an artist is essential.
  13. Ultimately, supporting this club whilst venkys are here is completely and utterly pointless. Nothing will ever be achieved and even if it could be they'll put a stop to it. I'll never step foot in Ewood park again whilst they have anything to do with it.
  14. I think he's suffering from being the only person on the pitch with any quality. Certainly missing Trav and Tronstad feeding him the ball and when he does get it who can he give it to?
  15. I'm calling bullshit. If it did actually happen and it did fall apart at the last minute it will be because our owners once again reneged on part of the deal at the last second.
  16. I compiled a breakdown of every major event that happened since 2021 onto a spreadsheet and posted it on here about six or seven months ago. It'll need to be updated but I can post it again. It shows in no uncertain terms that they are not fit to be a part of this club. The whole idea of it was that people could update it as things happen and it can be used as the basis for writing articles about the state of things etc.
  17. Wasn't the rumour that they couldn't afford the compensation?
  18. Even then we had good scouting setups. We spent a lot but not every player we got was a first rate superstar. If the club's just meant to fund itself now then there is literally no reason for the owners being here. I would 100% be a better CEO or COO than Shadow and that fat cunt and I'd cost a fraction of the money they're stealing from this place.
  19. Been listening to this absolute belter Phenomenal stuff from John McGeoch. I remember years ago in the Napier some guy, who strangely looked like Howard Devoto, would always enthusiastically tell me about how great Magazine were and that I should listen to them. They were pretty great to be fair.
  20. And here I was thinking that all our shit transfer dealings were entirely the fault of Gregg Broughton...
  21. That argument has the last 15 years of their very deliberate actions to back it up. What have you seen that shows you they want to get into the premier league?
  22. Treating people with the most basic level of decency and respect, and the owners and upper management of this football club are two circles of a ven diagram that will never intersect.
