  1. More redundancies, normal club, nothing to see here... Worst owners in football.
  2. A leader of men, proper defender and great world cup in 2010. One of my all time faves. Disgustingly forced out as we were all lied too and it's kept going downhill since.
  3. Don't tell Suhail, it'll be the next cost saving measure. Why waste money on opening Ewood up.
  4. So many managers failing up these days based on data obsessed geeks looking at possession as more important than points and owners who want to mimic Pep so they can sell to clubs who obsess about the former.
  5. Spoke very well. Really highlights the type of people we have running the club..and lack of any willingness to do anything. Got to feel for her.
  6. Meanwhile the former leading side in Lancashire will be playing below teams like Sporting Khalsa and Loughborough. Embarrassing, the Venkys effect.
  7. 1 less chancer here, 1 less human shield for that gobshite Suhail. Good news.
  8. Kieran Maguire calls them benevolent owners Fwiw, if we were all pulling in the same direction with a clear plan, communication and owners who gave a shit. The losses wouldn't be so high. I think of it like this. Back in the day you'd see people without 2 pennies to rub together, but they would scrub the front step of their terrace until you could see your face in it. It's about pride and doing the best you can. Not anymore. No pride, nobody in charge cares about succeeding.
  9. So true. Remember how many people on Facebook, twitter, LET were applauding the club for trying that very thing with the whole training ground palava , all under 1 (smaller) roof approach. How anyone can claim to be a Rovers fan when they will blindly defend and advocate things like that.
  10. It's VERY clear, they do not understand the meaning of community. Must keep auto correcting from cheap. The women's team was such an open goal for them. They could have said : "As custodians of Blackburn Rovers and the leading women's side in Lancashire, we are proud to support the women's team in a period of rapid growth, we will support the team to keep playing within the elite of the sport, unhindered by PSR, this gives us the opportunity to invest in our baby without impact on the mens side" HaHaHaHaHaHaHa as if, never in 15 years. If anyone with any critical thinking can't tally up, where would we be without the venkys and their refusal to fund anything outside the absolute bare minimum and still defends them, no hope.
  11. Scum owners, scum board of directors. NAPM.
  12. The newspaper from after the 1928 final.
  13. He was on another planet that night. He had the ball on a string all night, I know it was a testimonial but never seen such talent with a football in person. Ripley looking like he'd have done a better job than Emerton the season before and Shearer dip of the right shoulder before firing home in front of the Blackburn End. The night he healed the wounds from leaving.
  14. I recall when he was still here Tyrone's Shoelaces said his strong point was, every pass he makes has a message on it, as per the article. Spot on judgement.
  15. Kieran Maguire. Football Finance "expert" “I wouldn’t say Blackburn have monetary problems, the Venky’s have been benevolent owners, but they have other priorities and I think the level of financial support at Blackburn is something they are scrutinising very carefully at present.” Is he living in the real world?
  16. Jennings steps down from captaincy. Lancs sadly fully deserve to be where we are at the moment. The Northants game was embarrassing.
  17. Listened to this on the way home from work today. All the contributors were great, really captured the feeling. Some great tales as well. Roger perfectly put how I've explained it for years at the end, we're similar in age and it was really nice to hear that affirmation about what Blackburn felt like to live in, the town was alive and it's difficult to explain that buzz there was, but I think he put it beautifully.
  18. More than watch the Under 18s? The point is more if you can't fund, then sod off and let someone else and treat people better at least give some warning. Maybe under other owners this wouldn’t illicit such anger, but it's just another thing with this lot and no trust in them. Cutbacks once they start, where do they stop?
  19. It's not Faux outrage. It's genuine anger because it reinforces the nonsense of this myth the owners care about the club but are hamstrung by various things out of their control PSR/Court Orders/Covid etc. It's another example of their ways of running the club being unsuitable. People care about Blackburn Rovers FC, first team, women's team, under 16s, walking football etc. All same Umbrella. FWIW I've been watching the women's team for over 17 years on and off and have family and and friends whove worked for the club and it's night and day from pre takeover to now, just in terms of them being dealt with in a manner befitting a properly run football club.
  20. I think they will lie and try and infer it's being done to comply with FFP. There are already plenty of people citing this is a necessary reason on social media and I think the club, being quite content to mislead will allude to this without quite saying it.
  21. If we're floundering due to having an inexperienced squad and Ismael says this is the reason, you'll be the first to say we should bring in experience and claim you said this all along.
  22. To keep within FFP rules.... "In the English Championship, certain costs at football clubs are excluded from Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) calculations, including those related to youth development, women's football, community projects, and infrastructure. This allows clubs to invest in these areas without impacting their overall financial compliance with PSR." I'm anticipating this will be the clubs angle (I know you're reading) It's bigger than the women's team, it's about how our owners treat the club and some fans will climb over themselves to support this. "None so blind as those who will not see"
  23. However the spin this and try the divide and conquer. Whichever way up they pitch it, it boils down to owners don't want to put a penny into the club they don't have to. Pretty low, to say those bloody women , if we weren't throwing money away on them we'd be all over the transfer market, like a Gestede looking for a move.
