  1. Heard many a tale from elders about John McNamee. Rovers getting smashed for 7 at Shrewsbury after relagation to third division, brought in McNamee and transformed the team. An under rated part of our history . RIP
  2. Fantastic! Professional, hard working, well organised. Didn't expect to win tonight, but apart from 15 minutes in 2nd half never thought we'd lose that. As usual when we win, better than the sum of our parts tonight.
  3. It's a joke, we should be giving tickets away, we don't have thousands of fans who can't get a ticket (thousands who can't afford it though). Just a anti-supporter money making scheme designed to scare a few fans into buying more tickets and memberships. What marketing guru was the bright spark behind that at a ground with 18 thousand empty seats and a good but not over subscribed away support.
  4. Good half from us. No real sustained pressure from Boro and we've kept them pretty quiet and they should be down to 10 men. Travis and Trondstad working well again. Dolan should spend less time doing floppy flappy tricks in training and spend 20 minutes watching the Kuqi goal against boro that was posted earlier, double detention for him and Gueye.
  5. Big job for Pickering tonight against Doak, they have scored 4,5,6 so I hope they have used up all their goals. Make it an ugly midweek Championship game lads and show up for once under the lights, 1-1.
  6. As its 30 years I've been digitising the old LET match reports from the commemorative release. Few attached apologies text quality isn't clearer. I have the whole 50 page document but it was too big to upload.
  7. What else can we sell for 20 million... 😕 These accounts highlight the absolute short sighted stupidity of Waggot and his Venky overlords. Squeezing the fanbase to reach an arbitrary figure which is barely a drop in the ocean in terms of losses, when getting more through the door and the increased feelgood factor, visibility for sponsorship and hospitality as well as match day sales and merchandise, as well as goodwill would surely far outweigh that and might be a much more financially prudent decision over space of 12-18 months than constantly giving your shrinking customer base a shakedown. Then again he's not a businessman, he's an ex dodgy agent turned League 2 community outreach man, who's won the lottery here.
  8. Thanks.. *SIGH* Hopefully someone there can tell us how that plays out once the game gets going. Leonard strikes me as an off the shoulder type in the box poacher, seems a good opportunity to have them work in tandem.
  9. An opportunity to see how Gueye works in a proper two up top? Let's hope he gets a goal or assist tonight. Perfect opportunity to bully a few kids.
  10. I was always dead set against this, but I think they will have to , ironically to save the match going fan (season ticket holders in particular) and get back to 3pm on a Saturday more regularly .
  11. In fairness BBD had faded away here back to his natural state, before he even left...
  12. Case in point being Russel Martin. He was genuinely perplexed that because Southampton had something like 70% possession and limited Wolves to about 8 shots , Southampton should have won. He didn't mention that Southampton had 0 shots on target. They have commited the lst mistakes leading to goals. Yet every week he's been getting hailed as a genius. Games gone.
  13. Phew, weight lifted. Very good away performance. Thought Travis was excellent today, didn't think he had the pass in his locker to he honest. Ohashi too, grafted, caused a threat. Credit to Eustace and even bigger credit to the fans who were the only people you could hear most of the game. Safe trip back everyone, you deserved those 3 points. COYB
  14. Is this mascot the same Ollie Lomax who played Ice Hockey for the Hawks, dad's now the owner ? Coincidence if not.
  15. Buy from the bargain shelf, get bargain shelf players. We've played much worse than this and won this year. We all know who's fault this is. £40 million or so in and the manager is picking up the patients of Witch Doctors and 37 year olds on frees. Venkys strangling us, Eustace keeps us up polishing this turd and he's done his job (depressing). On a plus side Cantwell oozed class tonight, a joy to watch.
  16. And we never have been, it all comes back to this, anyone who thinks Venkys give 1% of care to Rovers and not themselves is deluding themselves.
  17. We are just so much less athletic than Plymouth, we look like we are playing in mud. Carter not a RB and getting absolutely no support defensively , Cissako in acres of space all the time and absolutely destroying him. We are lucky they haven't got 3 they look a gear up on us. We are still in it but it's going to take a big uplift to get a point
  18. That's two derbies now they only scabbed a point courtesy of shocking officiating. Set of soft sacks.
  19. So PNE get the benefit of 2 goals and 3 points for a guy who's been charged and accepted it, I'm peed off Watford fans must be fuming.
  20. Agree. He looks off the pace to me, which is understandable given his lack of a proper pre-season.
  21. An awful performance that exposed all of our weaknesses, no pace, no creativity, players in the middle unable to control a game. I hoped the soft underbelly was a thing of the past, but as so often on a midweek away game it reared it's head. Every team in this league will have a night like that, we need to make sure they aren't every midweek like the last few years. We've so far been punching given the players we have, as Eustace this season is making us a team that has played to its limited strengths and been better than the sum of its parts. Last night he got it wrong. If he's the real deal, he'll get a reaction at Plymouth, I expect Gueye to start. A place I never fancy us at. Hopefully we show some of that grit and grind it out, I'd settle for a hard working point.
  22. Really interesting listening to the Scousers in my office , Liverpool fans, all moaning about digital tickets. Lad next to me has 4 phones on him today just to make sure other people can still use tickets. These are young lads, tech savvy. All complaints about how restrictive it is, how much it's about control of who gets tickets and how. A lot of other issues which interested me about the club, so many walking away, not just digital tickets but the feeling of how the club treat them and football culture in general, one saying Digital, basically stopped his grandad going.
  23. They just don't get it do they, get them on sale early , set them at a max £350, make it cheap in the Riverside Sell 11-12k probably. If you were going to get a season ticket you'd do it 99% of the time when they are cheapest, not think oh well we're doing OK I'll get a 17 game one at a higher price than it was if I'd bought a full one on Phase 1. If they said Swansea and Sheffield United will be £10 adults and £1 children as we want as many fans as possible to be able to get to Ewood to help continue this great start , season ticket holders will recieve a rebate to reflect this which can be debited immediately or taken off the cost of next year's season ticket. We hope to see as many fans as possible who otherwise wouldn't be there taking advantage of our pricing inspired by 94/95. Fill as many as possible until end of November , then put out an enticing half season ticket offer. I am sure we'd get more in than the cost of extra few stewards and pies and long term feel good impact, seats at a tenner and young lad getting a shirt from club shop far outweighs this restrictive Waggot approach. Might even make me get my ST back after Waggot forced me out.
  24. Thanks for this, please keep it up
  25. A good win again. Very pleased to see Eustace learnt quickly from last week and we came out with purpose. We don't seem to get bullied anymore and team spirit seems really good. We're solid, but not spectacular which bodes well over 46 games, I don't get the feeling we'll have wild swings of form this season like previous years. We're clearly in need of Cantwell getting match fit as we've now looked very laboured in attack for the last game and a half. Very pleased we have a lot of the Labore, a bit more Arte from somewhere and we won't be going away. Lots of credit to Eustace, he's had a good summer and the feel good factor is back, time for some cheap ticket deals while the going is good.
