The simply looked a better team, set up better, looked stronger , looked confident. We looked every inch a League 1 side aside from Wharton and some flashes from Cantwell but he's really quite a petulant liability at times and at the moment does more wrong than right. Bit of a change in tone from when we had our Kean out and Venkys out days. The Soccer Saturday panel tore into the fans at every opportunity. This , I heard from a good source Newcastle was basically agreed and Spurs were watching him for the summer, their analyst team nearly knocked my brew over me. Newcastle were waiting to sell before they could buy in the summer. We see City courting him from afar. Palace did what they have become good at, stealing that 1 yard on everyone else and our eyes lit up. We didn't have chance to start a bidding war in the summer and we will never know. Good owners whos profile kick started rhe snowball effect for sure but also smart enough to realise you speculate to accumulate, have ambition and tapped into the fanbase and history and sponsors jump onboard, as well as outside investment. Its almost like saying, there is nothing we can do, FFP, our hands are tied, shit fans, our aim is to stay up and build indefinitely for something indeterminate, doesn't pay off as a strategy...

I didn't want to 'thumbs up' felt wrong on such a post but to say, that post is heartbreaking, hit me in the gut, the complete and utter detachment of those within the club and the 150 years of fanbase. Many won't be around for the next big anniversary of their club and we have people like Pasha pissing on our past, present and future.
