  1. I can only think Palace have asked for him not to be selected for these friendlies.
  2. Total bollocks. I know people, as many on this board will, who were there when we were spanked 7-1 at Shrewsbury in the 70s , been stood in snowstorm away at Halifax who now don't go because morally they feel such a disconnect between the club and themselves and cannot feel complicit in supporting it (not saying those who do are btw, its individual, plenty are anti regime who attend) So keep your patronising comments, it's nothing to do with the quality of football for majority. We're all Rovers fans, if you choose to go, fine totally understand it and sometimes I wish I still was, but don't make stupid conclusions. We lost thousands of fans in 1960/61 who'd been going years too, suppose they were just fickle?
  3. Even neutrals are touting him around for 100million now.
  4. Footage of Bob Crompton captaining England against Wales at Wrexham. Some good match footage of him playing.
  5. Crompton, Jack, Douglas & Clayton.
  6. He's managed to cover everything I hate about modern football and overseas owners in one speech, fair play.
  7. This is our near full strength team. Wait until the injuries and suspensions kick in.
  8. The club has the issue. Elliott doesn't need to resolve anything that would undermine his journalistic integrity.
  9. That buzzword. Development. That's what they want our expectations to be across the club, rock bottom.
  10. If ever two paragraphs that summed up his career.
  11. Blackburn Rovers have paid a heavy price for their parent club's decision not to bid for a place in the Super League. The subsequent loss of key players led to such a weakening of the team that they have been relegated from the Premier League after four years in what was the top level of the women's game. Rovers' fate was sealed in the final match of the Premier League season on Sunday with a goalless draw at Barnet. This consigned them to the Northern Division 12 months after they finished seventh in the table, above Birmingham City and Bristol Academy, both of whom are now playing in the WSL. The Blackburn club secretary, Gemma Donnelly, said: "It was very disappointing that we weren't able to bid for a WSL place after being involved right through the consultation process but the [men's] club felt they could not offer us the financial support required in a league that wasn't a proven entity. The above is from 2011. Quite some going to get both mens and womens teams relegated within 12 months. On the above the same happened again as this summer, the players were told not to worry, all given dossiers and the presentations etc and at 11th hour it was kaboshed. Everything we needed to know about this ownership that trickles through to the mens team eventually which is why everyone should care about how the womens team are treated. For context Burnley Women were in the 6th or 7th tier, Rovers were in the Prem and THE women's club in Lancashire and one of lesding teams in the North West of England, alongside Everton. The mens teams, as we know. Rovers were in the Prem averaging 25k , Burnley championship 14k average. These bustards care not 1 bit about our club. What we are witnessing is shameful.
  12. I always thought Jackson was basically a meek reporter being fed fluff pieces by the Club, if this trivial stuff is enough to spook them to this extent, Imagine what kind of real dirt and damage a proper investigative journalist could do...which they may have just unleashed on themselves, by inadvertently making Jackson a journalism martyr, (here's hoping)
  13. Do you think the clubs actions are at all proper ?
  14. Unbelievable, we really do have the most toxic hierarchy here. Do they ban the fans jury too, next time one questions depth at centre half. Are they pulled out of the stands and summarily detained in the cells?
  15. I suspect it'll be other clubs at the end of the season who may take action. Imagine if Ipswich win the replay and pip someone to promotion by 2 points. We also very well could win the replayed game by more goals and stay up / make playoffs on goal difference. I don't see how that sustains the leagues integrity more than replaying from where it was stopped.
  16. Absolutely. It was inevitable that once teams got filled with centre mids playing centre half the big man would return and then the direct stuff to exploit it. If I hear a manager has a philosophy other than win games of football I'm immediately suspicious. Data geeks and middle class gentrification of football does my head in, half space, pivot, double pivot, 2 6's and an 8. Load of nonsense to make people seem smart. "Play the right way"- says who? I loved being the bully boys.
  17. I hope all your fans got back OK. I feel for people who spent their hard earned money and time to see an unfinished game after travelling all that way. Interesting comments on McKenna, presumed he would still have his Halo .
  18. No doubt its a full replay, they have 11 players and they hit form. We get a few injuries and we know what happens. Ridiculous. But they will follow their precedent. In Spain they pick up from where it left off, which seems the fairest conclusion.
  19. Can't think of another Championship club with two washouts in under 12 months.
  20. Being a Rovers fan. When it rains, it pours.
  21. I agree with everything you've put. I just hope he might end up capable of performing well, but I agree that wasn't the plan. Our back 4 is going to end up patched up and different most weeks because of reasons you've put.
  22. Yes he was by time he left and at end of 05/06 season started there in the world cup. Agree squad depth poor, but that's not relevant to if he can play centre half. That's Rudys fault for letting hyam go.
