  1. you’re also discounting the fact Batth is a Eustace signing and VI plays a different way. VI is a lot less rigid in his set up and doesn’t sit as deep. Batth may not be quite as effective in a team where the CBs are expected to be a bit more dynamic and cover a bit more ground. Who knows, Batth and Hyam may not start the season as first choice CB’s. It may well be Carter and someone new. All food for thought. New manager, new ideas, new tactics, new players. It’s not as simple as saying the defence is good, attack bad!
  2. That’s hilarious considering the tedious number of arguments we all have to sit thru between you and Chaddy, which are the dictionary definition of point scoring and pedantry. Back to the football and we have no idea what this CB will cost and how it impacts the rest of the budget. You’re just guessing.
  3. They don’t have to spend much money to sign people on loan or on frees. We’ll certainly sign some attackers. The question will be if they’re any good.
  4. Maybe they can get the attacking players they want plus the LCB. Unless you know different?
  5. They want a LCB. They’ve only got 1 and nobody knows when/if he’ll be back up to scratch to the play in the Championship. So signing a LCB is clearly going to be a priority for a club that wants to sign a LCB. He may even be our best CB. Who knows, certainly not you or I.
  6. Strange criticism. They told us they wanted a LCB, and it looks like they’re going to get one.
  7. Juventus are after that Eze kid we signed from Accy. He has Italian nationality
  8. The articles says ‘exclusively reveal’
  9. Some of my first games were those FA Cup ties against Cov and Villa in 1980 (?). I was in the Riverside seats with my dad and can remember looking down on the packed terrace below. I think there were 30k on Ewood for those games. Happy memories!
  10. Apples and oranges. The riverside holds about 5k now. Back in the day the riverside terrace alone probably held double that at least.
  11. What’s Jackson saying about the shock exit? Can only see the LT headline. He mentions a power struggle?
  12. I thought Waggott leaving at the end of the season had been rumoured for a while? The statement suggests a falling out but my impression was there was a boardroom split with Waggott against Rudy/Pasha. Again, just my impression, but Rudy appears far more anti-fanbase than Waggott. I wasn’t a fan of Waggott, but I’m not sure this is the positive that people think it is. I think what’s left behind could be far worse.
  13. How many could they get on the Riverside Terrace back then?
  14. Correct. They’ve reduced the amount Billionaires have to pay in a bond. There is no impediment. Glad you’ve finally grasped it!
  15. There isn’t an impediment, they choose not to fund us because they don’t want to pay the bond. It’s a simple choice that Billionaires have made to save a few million.
  16. People telling young kids how they should think about football shirts and club loyalty is very funny. I had a white West Ham away kit when I was 10 cos my mum got it cheap in the sale from a sports shop. I loved that shirt. I also had the Southampton away shirt around the same time. This was the early 80s. Football kits are fascinating to football obsessed young lads. &nbsp Lighten up 😉
  17. There’s nothing more cringe than a battle of the superfans😉
  18. I’m fully invested in following AW’s career. He seems a very unassuming, likeable lad who also happens to be a very very good footballer. Most importantly, he’s also a Rovers fan. Cant wait to see how he gets on. Apologies if that makes me a bit ‘cringe’.
  19. Peter O’Rourke linking us with an 18 year old Right Back called Tristan Rowe on loan from Aston Villa. Our cup runneth over….
  20. Thanks, my old man was going to get one but can only make Saturday 3pm games really. Even at Senior prices in the JWU that makes it north of £40 a game. He’s not bothering.
  21. Henderson was the one who lost it in front of the BBE when he was playing for Shrewsbury in our promotion from L1 season. Epic tantrum
  22. Out of interest, how many Saturday 3pm league games were there last season at Ewood?
  23. Oh right see what you mean. I can’t imagine they’d stoop so low as to blatantly deceive the fan base on matters of fact. Then again….
