  1. I couldn't fault the effort today from the players but we're just not very good and the only reason for that is the owners and their appointed clowns. 1 win in 5 matches and we haven't actually played any good teams yet. 1/4 wins in the league is relegation form. I'm not having people blaming unlucky penalties and referees, pathetic excuses. You make your own luck in football. If you have enough goes against the opposition you'll get a decision go for you sooner or later. There's not some grand conspiracy against us.
  2. He's unbearable isn't he? Talks about them like they're Real Madrid 😄
  3. Norwich are really not a very good team and will be nowhere near the top 6 this season. They were all over the place at the back - we got in several times and we still can't score. I said at HT I'd be stunned if we got anything from that match, having stood through that second half I feel like any other team in the league WOULD have got something from that half with the chances created, even with ten men. That Hull game was a false dawn, because they are also clearly rubbish. Christ I hope we bring in this other striker by Monday, Big Mak was horrendous, I hope we offload him.
  4. If the player had any nouse/brains, he could have 'attempted to play the ball' and would have only been booked. Instead he yanked him over like an idiot. Now misses next 3 games as well. I'll be stunned if we get anything from this game now
  5. I'm not a fan of the revisionism that Mowbray was some complete donkey and I'm not interested in nonsense conspiracy theories about how he didn't want to get promoted. We spent several years not really going anywhere in the championship under him but we would have spent several years not really going anywhere under Pep Guardiola or Arne Slot. It's not the manager or 'head coach' that is the ceiling for this club, but he's an easy scapegoat. He made some poor signings during his tenure and there was a couple of horrific runs where I expected us to part company, but I don't understand the vitriol towards him, as if he were some kind of double-agent. People seem to brush over the fact he got us out of League One at the first time of asking, as though we had a god-given right because we were a big fish in a small pond. Forest, Leeds, the Sheffield clubs, Charlton, Bolton currently, and so on. All 'big' clubs that rotted or are rotting in that shite division for years and couldn't get out, with bigger crowds than we manage. We bounced straight out of it and we are very fortunate. He gets a lot of credit for that. Given how these lot run the club, who knows where we could have been now if we didn't come straight back. He was good enough to get us out of that division but not quite good enough to get us out of this one, not accounting for the fact we are run like a lower league club by our overlords
  6. Yes they did say on radio that it should have been red for Peck. Having to listen to Dingle donkey Iwelumo on co-comms 😄
  7. Been listening to Boro Sheff Utd on radio, Brittain sounds like he has hit the ground running, sounding very involved and influential in a team that have already won 3 matches. With Sheff Utd I think everyone did a double take when they appointed this Selles, he must just interview unbelievably well. I thought they would go and get Sean Dyche, or maybe someone like Steven Gerrard. He might be the first for the sack.
  8. Very early days, no one relegated or promoted in August, but a couple of teams have surprised me. I'm very surprised with Preston, I expected them to really struggle. Their start to the season looked a nightmare on paper but they've played possibly their two toughest home games of the season already and won them both. I expected Heckingbottom to struggle and a lot on here incl me thought he would be first sacked. He will have bought a stay of execution now. At the other end Sheff Utd have also surprised me in the opposite way. Selles seemed an odd appointment and it may end up being a disaster. Talksport said that Wrexham's fans booed them off the pitch today for drawing 2-2 with Wednesday. Apparently they've only lost 5 home games since returning to the EFL, and they booed a draw. Wow.
  9. Wow, what a result. I was extremely downbeat and expecting the worst going into this, given that the last two matches we offered absolutely nowt in attack. I haven't seen the game, I listened to the commentary. Sounded like our best performance under Ismael so far to be honest. Hull not as strong a team as WBA or Bham, but you can only beat what is in front of you and they had started the season well. Let's hope it's a similar performance against Norwich and nothing like the barren nothingness that was the first three matches. Brilliant result. Pasha out, Venkys out.
  10. Hopefully he'll do what Forshaw did against Plymouth. Never scored for them then immediately scored against them
  11. Our 3rd game of the season and it already feels like a crucial 'must' win. You want to win every game of football obviously but this feels like a 6-pointer.
  12. Wet Spam 4-1 down after 55 mins. Potter under massive pressure already this season. They deserve everything they get there, deluded babies. Hounded out the manager who won them a trophy over 'style of football' and everyone they've brought in since to play tippy tappy has been muck Edit *5-1 after 58 mins 😄
  13. Someone else said something on here recently that made me sad when I thought about it - None of our legends or cult heroes from the last 3 decades have done anything to speak up about the plight of the club and it is disappointing. Our fans were absolutely savaged by the media during the Kean era and we've become an afterthought and a backwater since we dropped out the prem, no one cares about what has happened. I think the closest thing to any sort of dissent maybe occasionally comes from Chris Sutton, but we're only his 4th or 5th favourite team after Forest, Norwich and Celtic so he's not that bothered.
  14. Just read it's 3 goals and 3 assists in 4 matches this season for Twine. Be interesting to see how Derby react to this. Were we any good at coming back from a goal down under Eustace? I can't remember. The time since he has left has been so traumatic I can't really remember 😄
  15. Go in the home end, won't need to sit on your hands or avoid shouting when we score, because we're unlikely to score.
  16. I stand towards the back in N01, but not right up against the wall of the stand, I'm in the second block towards N02. That very top corner of N01, up against the wall of the stand had a contingent that kept chanting about Tommy Robinson, I assume it's about that. Without getting too political on a football message board, I would never have anything to do with him or people who follow anything he has to say. But I didn't hear anyone chanting anything racist or bigoted during those chants, they were just chanting his name, as far as I am aware.
  17. 4000 holes should just charge an extra £2 to have your name in their 150th anniversary edition, I'll get that instead. Still a souvenir.
  18. I read through the whole article and thought actually that sounds quite good, I might order it. Expected it to be about £20. It's £40!
  19. Have we got rid of Sky Sports around the ground, everywhere except Jack's kitchen? Or is it still on the concourses, etc? I usually arrive at the ground about 15 mins before kickoff and go up to my seat, so I haven't really watched the TVs in there for a while, so I hadn't noticed if there had been a change. It is appalling though if they have canned it, I don't watch but thousands of others do. Like many have pointed out already, how tinpot is it for a Championship football club not to have the main sports channels at the ground?
  20. Just listened to the entire Kidder St Podcast with Glen. Couldn't possibly get into all the ins and outs of what was said, but very well done to Glen, that was a great interview. Really enjoyed hearing about his own nostalgia and memories of Rovers, but thought on all the serious matters that he came across very well - professional, not stooping to insults, rumours, gossip. Very transparent and realistic. Good work. I hope the guy who runs that podcast can chop out some key points and get them drip fed into various social media sites to keep the conversation going and make fans aware.
  21. Another feather in the cap from the Venkys and Suhail. Gone from a team producing European champions to losing against teams no one has ever heard of. All because they won't give the women's team roughly the amount of money they spent on Dennis, one of the worst ever signings in the history of the men's team.
  22. I don't understand how people do ratings. Am I missing something? If 1 is the worst level of performance a player could display and 10 is the best possible performance, then how do so many fans give ratings of 7, 8 etc to players when we have lost a game where we only had two attempts on goal and barely any possession? Elliot Jackson gave half the team 8s out of 10 as well. If I saw a team littered with 7s and 8s I would assume we had played pretty well and won comfortably. The score is for performance, not effort. I can understand, people would want to rate someone's effort even if they fall short, but that's not the same thing. I filled in the PoTM form for yesterday's game and the other matches this season and then when I see the average scores given to players in all three matches I feel like I'm insane.
  23. 26.6% win ratio after 15 matches, where does that rank him among the all time greats? Somewhere in the Kean/Coyle zone? If it's 26% by May we will probably have about 40 points and be relegated. Fingers crossed eh? Edit - just checked, he won 12 matches at WBA and 12 at Watford, so we have 8 more to look forward to in the next 3 years before his contract runs out 👌
  24. Something like that could be good if fans chipped in, but I don't know how much it costs. The club probably snoop on here so if they knew it was being planned they would probably spend what little money we have on hiring it out so that fans couldn't do that.
