  1. Much better performance than I expected. Mainly because I expected much more from Watford, Toth had nowt to do. Having said that, you can only beat what is in front of you though and we did. Very impressed with Gudjohnsen. Weekend made there. COYB
  2. Something we have been truly awful at for at least a decade.
  3. 81 mins in, we've been the better side, looked solid, created the most chances. Cannot complain about this. Watford look absolutely dreadful, I'm surprised the home fans sound so calm and relaxed.
  4. Not sure that was definitely a penalty for Gudjohnsen, I'd be really annoyed if that was given at the other end.
  5. How was that not a freekick on Ohashi? Other player is nowhere near the ball and has headed Yuki in the face. Time to get Yuki off and the new striker on surely.
  6. Everything crossed that this makeshift back four can hold it together now, come on.
  7. Not a disaster, but realistically not much to choose between two sides offering next to nothing in the final third. Give Yuki another 10-15 minutes then get the Icelandic on and see what he's all about.
  8. Tavares has done nothing except raise my blood pressure since turning up at Ewood. Very early in his time here but there is nothing so far to suggest he is even as good as Travis, who was himself a standard, consistent, hard-working, championship level player- but nothing special. I feel like if he truly had anything about him either Leicester City or Porto would have kept hold of him, he wouldnt be at Ewood.
  9. I was about to swear loudly at him for shooting from there when it smashed against the bar
  10. Maybe he'll grow one like that Colombian goalie and do the scorpion kick when he next plays in FA Cup 3rd round
  11. North End with what will surely be a late winner. If they hang on they will have beaten Leicester, Ipswich and Boro at Deepdale already this season. Heckingbottom turning things round?
  12. I'm sure there was a season more recently than that where they were both in third tier, maybe around 2012/13?
  13. It's got worse since my last post, no exaggeration to say this should be 7 or 8 here for Ipswich.
  14. Not very high quality but it took 7 or 8 minutes. I'm sure there are creative types out there who could do better. The sentiment is right if nothing else.
  15. Ipswich cruising here against Sheff Utd. 58 minutes and the blades have just had their first shot on target, a very tame effort. Not looking forward to seeing Philogene at Ewood in the near future, he's gonna have a field day. Edit - Three nil to Ipswich as I go to click post. Wonder what happens with Selles, looks like a nightmare appointment .
  16. Sadly, I think we'll lose narrowly tomorrow. Probably 1-0 or 2-1. Watford aren't very good, but our inexperienced, injury prone, cobbled-together defence has me expecting the worst. While I've been very unimpressed with our opening 5 matches, the defence wasn't so much the main worry in going into those 5 matches, it was the other end of the pitch. We've looked very tame in attack aside from the Hull match, because we don't have a proper striker at the club besides Ohashi. Hyam leaving last minute and McLoughlin out will have me watching from behind the sofa. Who am I kidding? Wharton and Carter to stay injury free and play a blinder, 0-4 Rovers (Gueye x4) Venkys, Suhail and Rudy out.
  17. Everyone has a right to have an equal say and all views welcome on the message board etc. Having said that, I can't help but think there is some unusual behaviour on the message board recently. Some new accounts with extremely optimistic outlooks on our shite performances and shite transfer dealings. Some other accounts which have been around a while which have occasionally gone on a flurry of just down voting criticisms of the club are back and active too. Wonder if they belong to people at the club who just want some feedback for their podcast? 🤔
  18. We managed three shots on target against Birmingham and West Brom (combined). They were both poor teams on the day and we couldn't beat either of them. We didn't come close to laying a glove on Albion, it was a stroll. That's all there is to it. Everyone got excited when we beat Hull but it turns out they're absolutely rubbish as well. Norwich not a very good team and we didn't manage to beat them either. We missed some sitters but so did they, we lost 2-0 but it might have been 4-2 to Norwich if both teams had scored the sitters they missed. Puzzling that we looked better with ten men than eleven, that's not a good sign. We seem to have forgotten as well that we played against a team newly promoted from Division four who made 6 changes to their starting eleven and they also dispatched us out of the cup. I have seen one good performance from our opening 5 games and it was against a team I expect us to be scrapping with to stay up. I'm not having that the performance against Birmingham was a good one. We played like we were away at Anfield or the Etihad against the mighty Birmingham City at Ewood Park, it wasn't a performance to be proud of.
  19. Another milestone for the Venkys and Pasha. England's tenth most successful football club now unable to keep hold of their best defender because he would rather play for *checks notes*... Wrexham. Good luck to Hyam and Wrexham, enjoying their own journey and nothing against them personally, makes no difference to me. Just shows what these owners have done to this football club with how far down the footballing pecking order we are. Venkys, chickens, pecking, what does it all mean.
  20. Just seen the news about Hyam leaving. So that's McLoughlin, Wharton and Carter at centre back is it? Miller at a push? We are f***ed
  21. He looked okay, did well trapping a long ball and then trying to have a go at the defence, hope he keeps that up. Didn't do much wrong. The play in the middle of the park and the wings wasn't too bad today, it was the completely toothless nature of the final third that made sure we once again really struggled to score. We played much better today than we did against West Brom and Birmingham but quality tells and we still came away with nothing 👎
