  1. No one is going to pay money for either so both will be here till their contracts run out. As usual at this club better ones get let go or sold whilst the others are allowed to stay on the gravy train when it should be the other way around. The likes of those two are the first ones who should be traded for younger fresher cheap potential or academy grads whilst the best players should be retained way before their contracts begin to tick down. Shambles.
  2. Hes never been offered a new contract, his own words,
  3. Derby in for Travis now he obviously has the 'for sale' sign around his neck.
  4. Travis made comments 6 months ago about not being offered anything but was quite relaxed about it, meaning iv'e got my agent exploring other options. The club purposely create these situations it's one of the oldest tricks in the book and a gentle nudge towards a potential incoming transfer fee. If no serious bid comes in they say ok here's the same or less terms to stay here but by this time the agent has convinced his player there'll be a deal to be had somewhere on a free with a signing on fee and maybe a loyalty bonuses owed from Rovers. So sit out your contract and here we are again.
  5. Don't worry in another couple of years of managed decline they'll suddenly find the will and ablement to put 2 million quid in for a league 1 promotion push. Except this time we won't have retained a championship squad and wage bill.
  6. Dolan compen already re-invested before its been paid and everyone is moaning. Who needs Gregg Broughton when you've got Rudy Gestede !
  7. We've learned a lesson and so should the club. A top player is a top player and as long as he is fit and performing there should be no issue in wanting to keep them but this is all about the counterproductive self inflicted 'over 30' rule. ie no resale value so no value at all to the head office which deals in financial numbers not football ones and they give the orders.
  8. Norwich must be in the 1/3 then, must be a fair old queue for his signature now.
  9. He was pro active at least and a contrast to virtually everything under Venkys, Suhail and Waggot were react when you've carelessly let a situation develop was the order of the day' Or in other words do nowt unless you have to.
  10. I'd be far happier keeping all three.
  11. Even if Broughton was still here and on the case i don't think it would make much difference because they'd do the same to him as they do to all new managers, head coaches etc. Show the dog the rabbit and allow them a couple of quid to invest then slam the door shut and say you're on your own we have our own problems to deal with. In fact they did that to him. Same will happen with Gestede and Ismael they'll get a couple of million at very best - including wages - to spend. A player will be sold from under them at some point alongside several other departures then next time they go asking for money they'll be blanked. Rinse and repeat.
  12. His value is at least an average championship wage going off the number of games hes now played and reflecting his age and future sell on potential. He'll have been way under that and is entitled to ask for as much as he wants it doesn't mean he wouldn't have settled for less but it's way too late now anyway. Another lad worth 2 or 3 mill going for nothing whilst his replacement will likely not be up too much but at least rigger and the other Dolan knockers are happy eh.
  13. You can't guarantee anything because the guy has already stated he wants to stay here and according to font of truth Nixon Rovers have made him a decent offer but it's only a year. He wants two and according to Nixon Derby would match that but he didn't say if the terms were better or not. End of the day it might come down to Batth deciding if he stays here another year for a decent wage or gambles for lesser money but more security down there. Football wise though he'd be mad to leave here where he's almost guaranteed to be first choice as the season begins. Sometimes it can be as simple as they want to go on holiday and mull it over.
  14. Behave yourself this lot paid the likes of Downing and Rodwell 20 grand a week and for what ? No investment no return just the odd seasons mainly mediocre football and now they are repeating it with Cantwell, also threw away a similar wage on 6 months of Dennis. How many million there straight down the pan yet they won't give our academy grads a championship contract because their starting wages are so low so the hike is seen as too much. Not much thought to actually signing them up then selling them a year later to re-invest. Stupid football club.
  15. Exactly. Hyam and Carter together are ball watching liabilities at times and Mcfadzean steadied it all down when he played albeit in a deep well protected Eustace system. Why can't they do with Batth what they did with him ? Give him the contract and get another good year out of him whilst buying enough time to find or bring through a natural younger replacement. Then in the second year his role might be reduced but he's great back up and on the training ground/dressing room. If there is interest elsewhere and he's not being used then release him, happy days for everyone and the kind of sense Eustace operated with.
  16. According to your mate Nixon they were willing to meet that criteria. Sounds like Rovers have offered good money but only 1 year which again is a bit stupid considering he wants to stay here. His dilemma might be more money here for another year or less at Derby but a 2 year deal. If our lot can't find some middle ground to keep last seasons best defender they've weakened the team again before even losing anyone else. He is a priority signing not an afterthought just because he's 34.
  17. Why would Derby and a manager as good as Eustace offer him 2 ? This club has a self inflicted no more than a year for over 30's policy and it's just another in a long line of stupid policies. Like letting academy grads leave for nothing because they won't pay them a championship wage despite the number of appearances for instance.
  18. Considering he was in the first team for a length of time on Β£300 a week then probably had a bit of a pay rise how much do we really honestly think he was asking for ?
  19. Maybe they'll loan Kargbo out for 6 months.
  20. Low wages, just the way they like it and less than they'd have to pay Dolan whose compo will pay this fee probably. Anyone on 10k or over it's a 1 year contract !
  21. The lad will have rosy cheeks after an autumn and winter in Blackburn.
  22. Why don't Rovers just stick Alan Nixon in that office he knows everything and is very good at recruiting and selling Rovers players. A strike rate of 1 in 100 surely qualifies him.
  23. The riverside has buried many a player it has to be the miserablest stand in the league 🀣
