  1. It won't take a great deal to be as good an actual defender as Brittain imo but we've lost a great attacking threat and very good all round footballer....another. So now it's all about how Ismael makes best use of what he has i don't want to see another Mowbray effort trying to turn average full backs with no pace into flying wingbacks and getting targeted and caught out way too often.
  2. Odds 5/2 on it doesn't make the cut again tomorrow.
  3. It's the sheer amount of changes all at once that has me worried now even if some of these coming in turn out to be decent. They need time to gel as any new players and systems do but there's going to be a lot trying to get used to the English championship as well.
  4. Brittain now getting the Dolan 'not that good anyway' treatment now 🀣 What you need to wake up to is we are a development club that;s why these lads were here this club never bought them to build a promotion team they couldn't care less about that. So..Sammie, BBD before him and now Dolan and Brittain all been developed by us, all entering their peak years, ALL leave in search of ambition and decent wages. They are all good top 10 championship players and the problem has never been with them.
  5. I thought at times JE came across as just going through the motions without his heart being in the job but to be fair we now know he was pissed off and at odds with his bosses for months before he left. I think if you are familiar with his interviews at Brum and now Derby he sounds pretty much the same though, it's just his manner. Some come across as wooden, some are more relaxed because they've seen and done it a thousand times, i'd put VI in that category. Some light up the screen - JDT, some go off on pure waffle - TM and some are pure Starmer = Kean !
  6. Ismael pretty much confirming what a few of us have been saying all along, that these players constantly queuing up to walk despite seemingly being very happy here WOULD have signed if they'd had decent offers early enough and been treated like they were valued here. Not all but some would and what we need to know is who is really accountable for this ? No doubt the hints are laying at Waggots door and him and Suhail are the constants in this so it's one or both of them, my money is on BOTH.
  7. 'Feels different' ? I don't know where that's coming from but it doesn't feel much different to normal at Ewood, we are selling players, expecting more to leave and scrabbling around for new signings that aren't all getting over the line. The summer of JDT, The Egg, a new structure and a bit of investment felt different it felt good and it was good for a while until they ruined that. This still feels like winging it to me and there could be a lot of twists and turns yet and actually the only person i have faith in is Ismael and i think he's going to have to perform miracles.
  8. Brittain will go one way or another so probably cut price to Derby if Boro pull out.
  9. John Beck was Allardye & Pullis way before they were. Kick and rush specialist.
  10. He's a guy with more experience of that kind of thing than the whole Rovers upper office put together yet again as per usual they didn't listen.
  11. Didn't they sign an injured lad from City then, Beckford or something ? Played about ten mins. Difference is the club was truly skint then not just owned by clowns dripping in gold.
  12. If only football actually worked that way. It's business think, like saying we'll keep the old van and get another used one then when one's off the road the other will cover. Footballers ain't vans.
  13. They've clearly been trying to prep the way for this from the start of the window just like they were looking for a rb/rwb from the off. Obvious what the plans were at the start of summer to cash in on two more 10k a week or thereabouts 1 year left players who have several known interested buyers. Squad building my arse it's all about realising what assets are left and replacing with much cheaper potential.
  14. They also remain under the impression we are after these players to boost the squad and not prep the way for more sales.
  15. You want your quality on the pitch as much as possible not just through the door in the building so to speak.
  16. Why are they so intent on signing players with known existing problems ? Never ever underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
  17. Overseas managers and their assistants clueless to anything but the big 4 - and West Ham - being paid absolute fortunes by an FA only interested in 'shirt selling' players and corporate sponsors favourites.
  18. I suspect there'll be a lot more of that kind of thing now the king pillock is in sole charge. Imo it's another reason they want a squad full of kids and foreign signings as they won't moan the same as senior pros will they'll be told this is the way it is and swallow it. I believe a few issues relating to this that angered JDT and his coaches and Eustace stamped his feet about it and got a bit more sanity. Back to cutting every corner again now.
  19. Doubtful, they'd have had him out the door way before now one way or another. He was another academy grad who was on peanuts until they tied him down so he'll be on about 5 or 6 grand a week hence they don't seem to mind him hanging around.
  20. You need ti get 3 a time in then usually one turns out quite good, one flatters to deceive and the other is useless. We wait with baited breath to see what this season brings but i really fear there'll be nowt decent this time because they don't want to pay the wages anymore.
  21. To be honest today turned out pretty much as i thought it would i expected them to be quicker and have a bit more quality however i thought be try and be solid but hardworking to nullify that. It was anything but in the first half, better in the second but they sat off a bit and Rovers looked to step it up a bit, not bothered about the result but first half was a bit concerning. Sooner the real stuff starts the better..... i hope.
  22. They want hard workers who hit certain running stats and that's it that's all they can provide Ismael with on little to no budget. We can't/won't buy quality so the criteria is young, cheap, half a chance to improve and be worth more under standard club policy whilst VI insists they must hit certain stats. Nowt to do with actual style really it's more about the ability to cope with this league physically.
