Gives them ammo to blame the fans and the media tend to jump on board with that in a way they don't towards other clubs. Boycott first then the next match back the team and hammer the regime. I just think the time is ripe now for a one match boycott given we are halfway there and the usual chorus of 'get behind the lads ffs' will now be proven dud because the ones that sling it don't anyway. -

See people keep saying that but it's more pointless than a boycott. And less chance of happening, we are already halfway to a real boycott this season if you ignore the crowd figure and look at the stands. -

This ! Hardly anybody is turning up anyway, the get behind the lads ffs crew are sat at home themselves because they can't be arsed. Those who turn up sit there in silence looking like they'd rather be anywhere but there. It really cannot be that difficult to make just 1 statement and purposely stay away from one game. -
Any respectable set of data would predict losing thousands of mins Championship experience and replacing with non would lead to serious issues as the season unfolds. Any respectable set of data would predict a Head Coach like Ismael would begin to struggle with the squad he's been given. Any respectable set of data would predict an already fed up diminished fanbase would diminish even further given price hikes and all the above evidence. The amazing thing about data is a human can select the bits he wants to fit his narrative and pretend the rest doesn't exist.

This is 100% bang on the money they just want the club to exist whilst an assortment of pals and employees fill their own pockets playing footy manager. It's ALWAYS been on the cards but certain things and other influences have prevented it but now the decks are clear and they think they can do it cut price compared to the TM/Venus/Waggot model. Relegation should see every one of them sacked and cast into the football wilderness for good. -

Big Sams time as a manager is up now but he'd surely make a handy Sporting Director. -

He probably has the comfiest job in football basically recording individual players stats then sitting down with them during the week saying 'you're doing a lot of this, that's good but not enough of that, so do a bit more, ok'. -

The most worrying thing about Ismael is he never looks nor sounds like he gives a shit, he has the demeanour of a hit man. Cold, cool, detached, just doing what he has to and collecting the money. Not good at all. -

Foreign markets are odd though especially when it comes to players having mins in one of the toughest leagues around outside the elite world divisions. Look how quick Broughton moved on the rubbish he signed and got some money back in as well. -

It's hard enough at the best of times to get decent players here without paying good money, nobody will want to come in Jan given were we are likely to be. -

Yeah but most of them are getting Championship mins so their value is increasing ready for the agents to move some on in summer and bring in more lightweight crap. That's the agenda here. -

If his half time team talks and subs are anything to go by he's looking for his relegation release clause ! -

Lets not start panicking about the weather again it'll be absolutely sound to play tonight. If we get an early goal the paltry crowd might even get into it as well. We could so do with a Travis type for a game like this. -

I genuinely would start fining Gueye every time he's caught offside through his own lack of awareness it's ridiculous now he's had more than enough time to adapt. If it was the Kean era betting accusations would be swirling. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

It's down to a functional, competent and best interests of the football club board of directors and CEO's job to continually push the ownership for what they need. That doesn't happen here as we don't have a real board just one guy pulling strings as he sees fit, previously from the shadows. And to him and his cronies it's all about trying to show the owners they can continually reduce costs or at best run to the same budget year in year out and remain in this league whilst growing a new crop of players to sell. For this he'll be paid several hundred grand a year plus expenses and whatever else he can cream off whilst swanning around England as the Mr Big of BRFC. That's it top to bottom it's his own comfort zone stacking up his own pension pot whilst keeping the ownership pacified. They are obviously the root cause but they rely on the likes of him in the day to day direction and he imo is captaining their boat to nowhere quite happily. -

To be straight though he did say after promotion he'd talked them out of going for a double promotion and chucking money in because he advised steady investment to avoid boom and bust. That can be judged one of two ways, sensible or lacking ambition and willingness to stick ones own neck on the block. Probably a combination of both in truth. -

There are always others no scrap heap bog standard head coach is turning down hundred of thousands per year when they are sat doing nowt. Yes he'll have agreed to all that was in the pipeline in return for a nice secure contract so he has to take as much responsibility as everyone else. 99% certain he's here because he was already a pal of Gestede and sings from the same hymn sheet in terms of the low budget revolution they are trying to implement. He was their choice and he'll have arrived through the usual channels. -

They knew he wasn't up to much when they brought him in but he'll be cheaper than a lot of others. He'll have the right connections and he's their man - Shadow man and tea boy - so the crafty dossers have ring fenced him with a 3 year plus contract. India phones up after seeing the results and league position at their 6 monthly meeting when Rovers crops up ...'This is not good enough we are not happy perhaps you should change the Head Coach...' 'Ok boss but performances are good, players and fans love him and we believe a winning steak is around the corner. Oh and it will cost 1.5 million to remove him' 'Ok stick with him whatever happens we aren't paying that, speak again summer, bye'. -

To pass the fit and proper they had to prove good cash flow and agree to cover losses and that was about it i assume. -
Never mind he was easy to replace for peanuts...

But Mowbray came within a whisker of keeping it up. I'm pretty certain if we are rooted in the bottom 3 at Christmas this time this lot will go down with barely a whimper. -
I certainly think there was some legs in the rumour, someone maybe suggesting or pushing to sideline the usual stuff or tone it down. Otherwise where did it suddenly arise from and why for once were the club so quick to react ? They obviously knew what was coming across social media it's like they were stood next to the campfire with extinguisher in hand.

He's probably already running it from his bunker somewhere via Suhail of course. The stuff that's happened recently is straight out of Football Manager or the Moneyball film and if Daddy, Uncle, Grandad and most importantly Granny say it's his was of the highway the lemmings being paid will all jump. Regardless of where the club ends up.
