  1. The ones that are interested especially the youngsters will not attend or not be able to attend unless it's cheap. The Ewood express is great in giving them a chance but realistically how many will return brought by their parents at those matchday prices when the adult has to pay ? Statistically some of the most deprived areas in England are within Blackburn town boundaries, across both communities. Something those running the club seems completely detached from and it's another reason of many the local support is dwindling.
  2. A new narrative is now being formed around '£20 grand a week' knowing that Rovers best paid players are generally on less and most of them are on way less. So now everyone is asking for 20k a week because it suits the 'not worth it' argument it's the new '20 million a year' !
  3. That's why -within reason- they should invest by getting their contracts sorted way earlier and making them fair offers and doesn't just mean wages there might have to be trigger clauses inserted but so what ? Better to include an agreeable trigger fee than hope they all turn into players 5 or 10 million is going to be bid for. It can be covered by some extent with add on's and sell on's. The impression here is low offers or no offers hoping they'll grab what's put in front of them when their deals are ticking down but players have a recurring habit of hitting their best form when that's the case. All this has gone on under the shadow bosses watch so it's down to him and he needs holding accountable by both his bosses in India and the fans.
  4. There is no way they'll engage more of the Asian community adults to attend increasing match day prices the way they have yet that is supposed to be the number 1 aim. Clueless.
  5. The last time either player was asked they said they hadn't. Why automatically assume that all of a sudden either player is now making unrealistic demands to Rovers ?
  6. If pressed on it i'd say he has an offer from Derby for a few more quid than here but he wants to see if there is anything else better paid and appealing before he accepts that.
  7. Ain't no way this club is seemingly trying to source a new midfielder in the 2 million quid bracket without preparing to lose one of the current ones.
  8. 'We can trade academy players' Remember that line it's a new income steam being tapped aided by the likes of Nixon regularly advertising our very young potential talent before they've even hit the U18's. To be fair there must've been some good recruitment going on a kiddies level in recent years but we as fans will never see or feel any benefit from it, agents will.......
  9. There's a hint of Steve Kean syndrome about Gestede imo. In terms of he's over ambitious and his connections have rushed him into a position way above his head but now he's there he'll say anything to remain there. No doubt he wants the team to be successful but he needs to realise pretty quickly only the truth will suffice here there is no tolerance for flannel or BS. They say once bitten twice shy well you can times that by 100 for this remaining fanbase never mind the fact Lancastrians can see lies coming from a thousand paces away. You aren't a politician Rudy so don't spin like one.
  10. And somewhere in the running costs some disappears..... I see what you did there 😉
  11. Be no surprise to me if they both went now the rumours of Tronstad wanting out are no doubt linked to him realising he won't get another decent deal here. Doesn't seem the type to just see out his contract probably thinks #### it i'll be off asap if i can find a new club.
  12. That's why they are desperately scrabbling around for a defensive mid i think it's been pretty obvious for a while, once they've found one he'll be allowed to speak to potential suitors. Then he's off.
  13. Anybody think they just ran back to Forshaw and rushed that one through for the sake of it ? He didn't get chance to get desperate and take a low ball offer.
  14. And this is were playing stupid pricks and hardball neglecting contracts gets us. Other clubs alerted and his agent finds out how much he's likely to get there so the demands change in talks with Rovers and his head is in the departure lounge. ALL of Rovers making this anybody who keeps defending it or just blaming the players is very very naive and i genuinely suspect the Rovers end is just part of that penny pinching clown Suhails way of operating. Dumb enough to think if they leave it as long as possible players will get tetchy and desperate and grab what's offered. Doesn't work like that with good players, might be having a poor season then suddenly hit form and bang others want them and their contract has begun to tick away. Then again they probably do it on purpose just because they won't or can't pay the going championship rate these days. Tossers, sale now inevitable OR the contract play out.
  15. Their name must've been raised in Parliament more than any other club owners over the last 13 years it's no wonder they never show up over here.
  16. They quietly moved the goalposts on that last season so it would be pointless. Anyone who might suddenly be expected to bring more than a thousand because they are doing well it'll switch from C to B. I also notice they've structured the DE into different prices per various section now, showing some brains at last to squeeze more money out of visiting support.
  17. I think they might be making room in the finances so they can continue paying the likes of him as unless you have a fire sale and virtually give people away how do you get them off the payroll ? Once someone is under contract you owe them that money regardless unless they breach it. The dumbing down and any wage cap has to start somewhere and will be a gradual process, not a dig at you but i'm struggling to see how people can't grasp the concept.
  18. My understanding of the 'rumour' is no incoming's on over 10k per week but at the end of the day it's just rumour however all signs point to them wanting bigger earners gone. Estimates are just that, for instance Brittain was estimated to be on 3/4k pwk at Barnsley so i'm not sure he jumped straight to ten 10pwk here IF we are believing estimates. Personally i'd expect him to be on 7/8k pwk on his current deal but probably wants north of 10 on his next one. We also need to consider a lot of contracts at Rovers are heavily bonus orientated so he very well could raking in over 10 already due to that. As you say though the handcuffs are being put firmly on the wrists moving forwards but we still have the likes of Cantwell on estimated 20-30 grand a week, Hyam etc who'll be on double figures so it's an odd mumbo jumbo of a payroll anyway. There cannot be any doubt though we have lost, missed out on and will continue to lose good players because of a reluctance to pay the going rate.
  19. Not really we've no idea how much he's already on he came from relegated Barnsley and realistically he isn't going to be here much longer even if he does sign. They can't just slash the wage bill overnight it'll be a short/medium term plan where every one out is replaced by a much lower paid 'project' to increase in value and sell. The aim will be to have an entire squad like that, no more Batths etc but it will take a few windows to achieve it. No rush right now with transfer income still dripping in but beyond next summer i expect the need will be a vastly reduced wage bill so they are doing the groundwork now. I stand to be corrected but i'd be very surprised if so but you never know with these lot however imo the Indian finance man and Suhail are running the whole show now.
  20. Managed decline course to 10k pwk and under firmly set into the radar whilst obscure relegated overseas teams are scoured for the new (5k a week) Travis, Tronstad, Brittain etc etc. AKA The Future
  21. They've shown interest, he's half interested in going so his agent says make him an offer he can't turn down. Again nothing unusual in that.
  22. 'Tell him to advertise another young academy player as well whilst you're at it'
  23. No chance, watch.... He might even fancy being a mercenary though to be fair if he thinks he can earn more brass moving around short term.
  24. The Hull owner is another crackpot akin to the V's but even solid local ownership doesn't guarantee anything ie Middlesbrough but there isn't the backdrop of noise and stupidity to continually piss fans off. And the chances of either of those getting it right before us is very strong i'd say.
  25. And who will easily be sold for that if he does well so that's the investment to consider for any buying club. If he helps fire a decent Championship outfit to promotion then it's peanuts.
