The January 2026 Transfer Window
Tomphil2 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I just think he struggles with Championship football and the high press Ismael tactics were everybody except Yuki is blowing out their arse after 20 mins. -
Re-arranged night game low crowd expected anyway.
-
And we'll decide that the vocal minority should move to the riverside were it's cheaper because we don't like some of the chants. Or we'll price them out of coming altogether.

The Tafia were a great blend of heads and no doubt a big part of Hughes success here particularly Bowen. Everything just clicked but they were working for the best run club in the land at the time. To follow on the Souness years with the Hughes gang was a masterstroke by Williams/Finn and the Trust. -
A rather odd question coming from a unionist i have to say.

It will certainly be the lowest league turnout since the ground was redeveloped but it's just yet another in a long line of record you don't want broken, broken. First visit to the third tier in nearly 40 years. Maybe the second longest spell ever out of top flight ? Record home defeat Various losing, non winning run records. How many managers in one season record ? Shortest reigning manager ever ? Lowest ave gates in real terms for 35 years. Probably lowest league away following the other night for 35+ years. Now lowest real home turnout in 36+ years on the cards. It's just one long farce. -
Can't knock the mans graft but Yuki gets in about two good goal scoring positions per game often played in with a clear run on goal but the end product is usually nothing. Scores a pearler now and then which is great but to rely on him for many goal contributions is a weak philosophy.

You reap what you sow and this has been coming for 15 years it isn't a knee jerk to a run of bad results. The size of the crowd will make no difference whatsoever to the result and the clowns in charge want as many as possible in there so they can spin it to their bosses as a storm in a tea cup...again.

Not sure if Gestede came from money or not but hes always had the air of an entitled brat. I think though primarily he's all about the money and nothing else looking at his career and the fact he seems to be hated by fans of both Boro and Villa. Hes now managed to add probably the only remaining fans who liked him for his brief playing spell here although not sure how Cardiff fans feel. I seriously get Steve Kean era vibes from this lot now in charge though and this geezer would be the first person i'd boot through the door. -
Unpopular opinion but Pears is probably the best or amongst the best 2nd Keepers in this league. And nobody is keeping many clean sheets in this present and recent Ismael team. 500k is a farce for him at this stage unless there are achievable add on's although maybe they are trying to be fair and get him fixed up but much more likely they are desperate to get that wage off the books. They won't want to pay a reserve keeper a first team wage and also that clown comes across as commission hungry to wheel and deal.
-
Agree it's a complete farce. Jack Walkers success in business and football was fuelled by hire the best you can get and pay them properly. Then there are no excuses but these lot operate a hire the cheapest friend recommended you can get. And they'll cost you a fortune in the long run in failure, cock ups and pay offs whilst in return you'll get nothing but a declining valueless product.
-
Sounded like a snake oil salesman desperate for commission on that phone call.
-
He'll never work at this level again once he's finished here.

Waggot was the public face of Rovers as a CEO should be but he was only half a CEO behind the scenes i'd wager. He took the brunt of the stick whilst the others hid in the shadows and he did his best often to hide as well although maybe he was gagged who knows. This is the club who went to lengths to hire a director of communications and then stopped him from communicating ! So they finally get Waggot out the door as the fall guy, after finishing 7th, then embark on wrecking the stability at least his presence provided. The last advert for a new CEO read basically as a stadium manager even Nixon confirmed this so it's obvious who is running everything now so they should be held accountable for everything. Starting Saturday. -
Kind of backs up what the Peterborough end said about buying Leonard and how they were preparing themselves to pay more. Gestede is just desperate to sell anybody he can, bring money in so he can look good to the owners whilst spending a bit of it again on his united nations cheap punt scheme. What's he getting out of it ?

Crowd will be announced as 11.5k as usual.

Well we know how paranoid some are at Ewood over protecting their little gravy train so if they are forced to be taken down legally, they're real.

Slowly erase history, culture and tradition in order to reset the bar lower so people get used to the new normal, straight out of the control freak divide and conquer playbook. Hmmm... it's all rather obvious now when you look back at it. -

Yeah he's still trying to position himself as a bridge between them and us but it's rather pointless now. They aren't going to offer him a job and even if they did trotting out the same rhetoric won't work this time there's way too much water under the bridge. -

The centre halves particularly McClaughlan need protecting and the defence tightening us as whole like Eustace pinpointed when he came in. Tighten it up, get Pickering back in and if they can't get a shield in front of them with the likes of Forshaw, Tronstad and TGH we might as well give up. They need to become a unit again and build from there, 4 at the back now imo. Andre back up top and the new guy playing off him, drop Yuki and drop off a bit to allow space in behind. -

If Wharton wasn't injured and had had a good season they'd have had him out the door the min there was a sniff of a fee. 100% guaranteed. -

As time went on once Gestede arrived Waggot was a thorn in the side of the other two that's obvious, if he served their purpose he'd still be here. He clearly held the club back and was a downscaler but that was his methodology and his experience was in that field, keep it stable whilst chipping away at it. We were going backwards but at a slower rate and i said at the time him gone removed any last remaining semblance of actual football stewardship whatever guise it came in. Now we have a guy drunk on his own control of the money and a tea boy ex player aligned with him both controlling their puppet in the technical area. So basically there is no one to challenge them, watch them and if need be try to go over their heads. The division before was bad enough but yielding full control to these two has proven even worse, they are driven on pure ideology not reality. -

They've already given him a new set piece specialist coach and we are even more awful on that than before. What they are doing is flogging a dead horse and wondering why it won't drag the cart. -

Personally i don't care where Carter is unless he's actually on the pitch doing it for Rovers it's not like we were at home or anything. Most of them don't give a toss a few years back i was on an Xmas do to Manchester. At the very same time Rovers were at Deepdale and we were keeping tabs on it on the train as it unfolded. Sat in front of us was Adam Hanley and his mates off around Manchester and paying no attention whatsoever to the game seemingly.
