Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Tomphil2 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
They knew he wasn't up to much when they brought him in but he'll be cheaper than a lot of others. He'll have the right connections and he's their man - Shadow man and tea boy - so the crafty dossers have ring fenced him with a 3 year plus contract. India phones up after seeing the results and league position at their 6 monthly meeting when Rovers crops up ...'This is not good enough we are not happy perhaps you should change the Head Coach...' 'Ok boss but performances are good, players and fans love him and we believe a winning steak is around the corner. Oh and it will cost 1.5 million to remove him' 'Ok stick with him whatever happens we aren't paying that, speak again summer, bye'. -

Our academy doesn't seem capable of producing them for some reason. -

To pass the fit and proper they had to prove good cash flow and agree to cover losses and that was about it i assume. -
Never mind he was easy to replace for peanuts...

But Mowbray came within a whisker of keeping it up. I'm pretty certain if we are rooted in the bottom 3 at Christmas this time this lot will go down with barely a whimper. -
I certainly think there was some legs in the rumour, someone maybe suggesting or pushing to sideline the usual stuff or tone it down. Otherwise where did it suddenly arise from and why for once were the club so quick to react ? They obviously knew what was coming across social media it's like they were stood next to the campfire with extinguisher in hand.

He's probably already running it from his bunker somewhere via Suhail of course. The stuff that's happened recently is straight out of Football Manager or the Moneyball film and if Daddy, Uncle, Grandad and most importantly Granny say it's his was of the highway the lemmings being paid will all jump. Regardless of where the club ends up. -

They will be well aware the model they are now running is playing Russian roulette with the clubs established solid championship status ( something they created out of a good solid Premier league set up ). Question is WHY ? Why would you take the risks if you can afford not to ? -

It's the attitude of oh we can replace Brittain, Hyam, Travis etc for a few hundred grand a piece and much cheaper wages as they ain't all that. Sadly that attitude is shared and even pushed by some of our so called hardcore fans. Funny how the poster guilty of it most on here always disappears when things are going wrong then re-emerges at window time with the same rhetoric for the next player due to be sold. If that kind of thinking is being gleaned from coaches at the club who are following the lead set down by shadow man and his apprentice it's no wonder we are in a mess. Naivety, stupidity or just gaslighting call it what you will but it's an issue at the club and amongst fans willing to swallow whatever the get fed. -

The pre Walker revolution fanbase wouldn't have tolerated it . -

The solution here is sack Gestede then Ismael will probably walk as the two imo are joined at the hip. Better still sack Suhail and get rid of all 3. -

They are in a false position and they have a manager who knows how to rinse blood out of stones. A moral boosting win on Saturday will see them turn up thinking their season is finally kick starting. Expect same old same old from us in front of about 10k home fans. Rovers 0 Blades 1 -

In the position we are in you need a gaffer who can grind out results with the lightweight bunch he has even if performances stink. We've seen it all before and nothing changes that's what you need but we are bang back in the realm of tepid football, nice in patches but exposing weaknesses in key areas every game. He neither has the nous nor the will to sacrifice the nice patches in favour of defend from the front and protect the backline at all costs. Instead it's the usual guff of possession stats and if this went in or the ref didn't do that we'd be ok, rinse and repeat. -

Subs are always a debatable issue but Ismaels use of them is terrible to be honest. Changes for the sake of it throwing people on for the sake of it just to get mins but the way this club is now set up it's part of the bigger agenda. Increasing value through mins taking priority over everything else but to be fair to him i don't think Gueye or Kargbo would look out of place at Chorley. And throwing them on at that level probably wouldn't change a 0-2 game. -

He came in and agreed to work with one hand behind his back whilst toeing the company narrative at all times, on the strength of a 3 year contract. They then, as they've done to most of the previous ones, tied on of his legs as well. He nodded along so it's hard to have any sympathy for the man himself even if you accept he's on a hiding to nothing. -

The club doesn't belong to the town anymore it just belongs to faceless corporate names thousands of miles away. The people running it aren't custodians of the club for the town as all before them were they are just installed gravy train riders minding the club for the detached ownership and whoever else is involved. This is the reason beyond all else the town and whole fanbase aren't behind the club and never will be until something changes. And if they think, which i suspect they do, that all that won't matter if they engage the rapidest growing part of the local community to replace lost fans they are deluded even beyond the wildest realms we already see. There's only one real cure to all this. -

Doesn't really matter who 'would' come it's all about who the usual hidden suspects decide to install next. And it'll be a 35-1 left field long shot as usual. -

I'd argue a Danny Graham and Charlie Mulgrew plus a Craig Conway and this squad would look a lot sounder. Too many changes, no leaders and too many Championship mins gone, over night. I don't care who's in the dugout this kind of approach is a road to disaster for any one. Having said that Ismael has shown very little if any nous beyond standard coaching manual predictable stuff. I think the players are playing for him but half of them aren't good enough. -
He's too stupid to realise he himself has been set up to fail and his will be the first head to roll.

We'll see Pears back in soon enough once they've flogged Toth. Then we'll see goals let in like that again on a regular basis again. -

Just look at the subs at 2 nil down away at a team like that, 3 average at best lads off and 3 who are at a league several levels above their ability on. Never ever going to turn games around anywhere with that kind of squad. -

No he won't because they'll have to pay him off 2 years and that will cancel any future paltry transfer pot we might have. They've allowed us to be stitched up good style again here by shadowman and Gestede employing this proven failure. -

And mixed into that are some of the most deprived wards in England where people just cannot afford or justify football matches. Anyway 1200+ going today, near the bottom, £30 plus per ticket, no pay on the day etc. Respectable if not great and actually represents 10% of the current home support which stacks up to anybody outside the big city clubs. And they know defeat is probably imminent... Cov 3 Rovers 1 -

It's 3 times the size of Blackburn so like for like they should be getting 36k home fans even when shite ! -
Club maybe trying to flush out any remaining ears in walls with some underhand tactics.
