  1. Lowe like Benson has always seemed well regarded by the players so whatever his actual coaching abilities it's another cog from the dressing room gone.
  2. It doesn't matter at Rovers once the ink is dry on the contract you can say what you want. You might rile the SD or CEO sorry COO or whatever his imaginary title is but they won't sack you because A - Can't afford to B - Don't have the outright power to do so. So once feet are under the table you are quids in, won't get sacked, do well in difficult circumstances but regularly hint at your frustrations and other clubs will be watching. Then engineer your own exit, may take a while but it'll come and even though those above you are aware they can't do anything about it unless Pune gets angry. Even then they'll try and head it off because they also might get the boot for recommending you in the first place. They'll also get a pat on the back if they rake in compen. Ismael will view this like the others as a stepping stone back into a better job and more money all he has to do is keep the team stable in the league and try and coach value into individuals. The big lad is quids in here regardless.
  3. Maybe not so with Dolan but you'd think most with a balanced thought process would understand the situation Brittain is in, might not agree with his actions but understand why. Then again......
  4. Don't mind Hedges at all in the squad every squad needs an old hand or two like him around willing to do the dirty work to let others get the space and credit. However imo he should rarely be a starter and it is a bit worrying big Val might view him as such but lets be honest he won't last long anyway before he's on the treatment table again.
  5. Happens all the time now when someone leaves, club get criticism, club puts bait out everywhere bait gets gobbled up, fans hate player. Most of the very same fans then revert to moaning about the owners, running of the club and next inevitable cock up when it comes along. They just copy the tried and tested formula govts use for social conditioning in this era and it gets hook line and sinker results.
  6. Given how shallow they came across when they first turned up that wouldn't be the least bit surprising.
  7. Ah the Brentford or even B###'##y model ! Yes it is quite straight forwards to any well structured and ambitious club but sadly the opposite applies here it's now sell to pay the bills. Then use the loose change from that to fill out the squad and expect the latest head coach to perform a few miracles with them.
  8. I don't think he needs nor is looking for sympathy he's just highlighted the things that are wrong here and what he has to deal with and what he'd like to see ironed out whilst he's here. He's just stating the obvious really as all those before him have but he'll soon realise it's pointless.
  9. And we only did that because of Derek Shaw, who also just happened to be a business partner of Appleton ! Every other one post Bowyer had been dumped by previous clubs and sat at home for months also allegedly brought in by the same agents. A notable exception for JDT who had great success then left to pursue something different and he himself was an 11th hour appointment after something else fell through. Unsurprisingly to anyone with half a brain he also turned out to be probably the best of the lot even if it was only for a season before the usual gremlins got to work to spoil everything.
  10. Yes it's where Venky's always recruit our gaffers from haven't you noticed yet ? Would you like to tell us the last time Blackburn Rovers sourced a well performing manager from another club ? Even Derby managed to do that AND pay compensation.
  11. Aye but when you are sat at home doing nothing living off your previous payout and a contract lands in front of you worth a million quid win, lose, draw, sacked or not sacked you'll not think twice about signing it. Doesn't really matter what horrors await you does it.
  12. Yes you've highlighted the point well there, three hundred to several thousands so in other words a normal step to a pro contract at this level. Then after 100 plus Championship appearances against, alongside and often out performing lads on 10-20 thousand a week he wants a contract reflecting that and he 'allegedly' turned down one that obviously didn't. So yes good luck to him, non of that detracts from the fact it's a carbon copy of the Nyambe farce except this time it's a better player.
  13. So what he was on the scrapheap and unlikely to be touched by any half decent Championship outfit anytime soon. You don't know the real situation until you've been in the building a while i would have thought that was rather obvious, if in doubt write to Mr J Eustace esquire, Derby.
  14. Ismael is already scratching his head and thinking how can you let players like Dolan, previously on £300 a week not that long ago, end up walking for nothing. It's obvious he isn't impressed.
  15. The Lenihen and Nyambe situations happened years ago and this time it's Dolan and Brittain , so far, which is a complete carbon copy of the previous two and the rhetoric being put out is just the same. When they've finally gone elsewhere it'll be 'offered to make them highest paid players' etc and it's complete bullshit. Yes some players and agents might take advantage but the situation for them to do so is created by the club. Nothing has been learned because they don't want to learn, the idiot in high office has his policy and that's that. I wonder where this club could be now if we hadn't had a decade of that useless self serving stooge ?
  16. Both Boro and Derby's interest was known about well in advance of this weekend that's already been admitted although we don't know about actual official bids. I suspect Rovers were trying to keep a lid on it until they'd got the incoming deal done, bad news hidden behind good news. However that went pear shaped and out comes the news no doubt slightly angled as usual towards flushing out any other interested parties. Any properly run club would have began tying down its assets once it had made a few big sales and knew money was coming in but not this shower of shite just leave it as long as possible to save money then cost themselves millions again in the end. Useless, completely useless.
  17. 'Blackburns Priority was to tie Brittain down to a new contract' Priority ? yeah right its been such a priority ....
  18. And therein lies the problem with being owned by chicken overlords.
  19. How were Plymouth Argyle paying 15 grand a week to him ? Crazy if so no wonder they've struggled i thought he'd have had to take a big pay cut from his Leeds days to go there.
  20. Exactly. But some on here want to argue the toss for the sake of it. You'd only get someone like Batth played in his own position or at a push somewhere else on the back line if desperate they don't play him on the wing and say hey he's squad player.
  21. Somebody doing someone a Myles type favour ?
  22. Was he humping someones wife ? That was the go to reason back in the day pre social media and the 'itk'ers' 😂
  23. Or it could equally be interpreted as it was left up to him he wasn't told he'd be forced to play or anyone was expecting him to. I'll stand by my opinion i don't think at any point hes made a pointblank refusal to play which is the way some are portraying it and i'm amazed so many are using it as a stick to beat him with it's not an unusual situation at all. The most important thing to that lad now is his career not a blue and white shirt in a friendly, hard as that is to swallow for some fans. For all he we know he probably thinks why didn't you reward me with a new contract 6 months ago so why should i risk it all now for one half a game ? I think the choice of club probably plays a part in peoples reactions because on the face of it it's a massive sideways step. I reckon if a bigger profile outfit who expect to finish in the top few had come in most would be saying yeah fully understand it he's got a big move. Anyway at least it isn't Derby....yet !
  24. 'Decided' to me suggests there was a choice and refusal imo would be if he was told you're selected and we expect you to play. Either way i refuse to play the blame/hate the player game narrative that is being pushed from one stupid tweet and it was only that tweeter who brought up the refused comment. I fully understand the situation and couldn't care less about what would have been a 45 min kickabout for him at Accrington. Ismael also went on to say the club have to think about the financials which also implies he was never going to be forced to play it was always going to be up to him.
