Yeah he's still trying to position himself as a bridge between them and us but it's rather pointless now. They aren't going to offer him a job and even if they did trotting out the same rhetoric won't work this time there's way too much water under the bridge. -

The centre halves particularly McClaughlan need protecting and the defence tightening us as whole like Eustace pinpointed when he came in. Tighten it up, get Pickering back in and if they can't get a shield in front of them with the likes of Forshaw, Tronstad and TGH we might as well give up. They need to become a unit again and build from there, 4 at the back now imo. Andre back up top and the new guy playing off him, drop Yuki and drop off a bit to allow space in behind. -

If Wharton wasn't injured and had had a good season they'd have had him out the door the min there was a sniff of a fee. 100% guaranteed. -

As time went on once Gestede arrived Waggot was a thorn in the side of the other two that's obvious, if he served their purpose he'd still be here. He clearly held the club back and was a downscaler but that was his methodology and his experience was in that field, keep it stable whilst chipping away at it. We were going backwards but at a slower rate and i said at the time him gone removed any last remaining semblance of actual football stewardship whatever guise it came in. Now we have a guy drunk on his own control of the money and a tea boy ex player aligned with him both controlling their puppet in the technical area. So basically there is no one to challenge them, watch them and if need be try to go over their heads. The division before was bad enough but yielding full control to these two has proven even worse, they are driven on pure ideology not reality. -

They've already given him a new set piece specialist coach and we are even more awful on that than before. What they are doing is flogging a dead horse and wondering why it won't drag the cart. -

Personally i don't care where Carter is unless he's actually on the pitch doing it for Rovers it's not like we were at home or anything. Most of them don't give a toss a few years back i was on an Xmas do to Manchester. At the very same time Rovers were at Deepdale and we were keeping tabs on it on the train as it unfolded. Sat in front of us was Adam Hanley and his mates off around Manchester and paying no attention whatsoever to the game seemingly. -

For balance yes injuries haven't helped and the stopped matches should have got a point or 3 but by no means guaranteed, Although i won't carp on about bad decisions by officials because it's all hot air it happens to most in this league it's part and parcel of a non VAR low ability referring landscape. However i do think everyone fit his system would've worked a bit better and we'd be a place or two higher but that's it, nothing else. As it stands though you have t get some sort of tune out of what you have and he isn't by a long stretch and doesn't look capable now. Yes he gets the effort out of most of them but that's more down to the type of players they are, all running and no flair or brains...except Baradji. So in truth hes given it a good go but it hasn't worked and won't do it needs someone who can blend these lot into a more robust point winning style. -

He looks exactly how JDT did when he'd realised the game was up. -

There are still enough defensive options available to make a better fist of it but the system and tactics are all wrong. Sets up to just make use of busy high pressing forwards and the shaky defence has no protection at all. His answer is just keep swapping people around because defensively he hasn't got a clue. Whole thing needs to change and become negative as Eustace did and prioritise clean sheets now. Even when your defenders aren't that good if you give them help and protection in front of them things will improve. -

How many people were actually in the home sections at Swansea last night ? It resembled Ewood can't have been more than 9 or 10k actually in there but it didn't bother the team they still showed up and did their jobs. All this talk of lack or crowds affecting players is bollocks they melt every time there's a good crowd anyway. -

I did see a post the other night from someone saying there was a clause were Ismael could leave but it wasn't until 24th - o i think it was - of Feb. No idea if it has any legs. -

Nobody knows but it's set up that way at Ewood on purpose so nobody can be held to account. Suhail says the owners, Rudy side steps it and drags in Adam Owen. For me the buck stops with the shadowman and he should get it both barrels on Saturday from the handful there. -

3-1 down with 20 + mins to go and he throws on Forshaw and continues his blatantly ordered from above obsession with De Neve. Tells you everything you need to know. 3 goals literally given away yet again and there are 3 left backs/lwbs on the bench at the start. Baradji for all his clear ability on the ball is absolutely useless off it a total liability. No presence in defence again, where is Pratt, what was the new winger cum striker doing there setting up the Swans first goal ? No organisation McClaughlin proving yet again and absolute crap signing even worse to replace Hyam. This team is run by schoolboys. -

He threw that game tonight he should be sacked before he boards the coach but he won't be. Reason being they are yet again putting playing youth before results the very policy that nearly had us down in under JDT but Waggot railed against it. So they bring Gestede in to not rock the boat and as i said that line up tonight, thrown game. Those trying to play the super fans v Watford are complicit with this shite and you are having the piss taken out of you by this lot.- 5311 replies

In bet their arses went 🙂 On a serious note just like the outside world in general this United Nations approach is fraught with all sorts of issues on and off the pitch. Relocating a few at a time and integrating them into the club/country/area and getting them used to the football etc fair enough, especially when you have that British philosophy to ease them into. Throwing together half a dozen or more at once and trying to blend them in with raw kids and your British core has gone, asking for trouble and here we are.

Technical Director suggests he's the one who implements the football style throughout the club and focuses maybe on working with DJ and the coaching staff on improving individual players via their data. Might be wrong of course but what else would he be doing and Gestede saying AO 'assesses everybody including VI doesn't mean a great deal at Rovers because he'll report to Gestede and Suhail. So Rudy is slyly passing the buck there the Tech director won't be able to hire or fire or sign or sell anybody he just gives his reports and opinions to those above him. -

Cashin is here because Brighton are paying most of his wages that is the defining factor nothing else. -

Sorry but no he moved like an Oil tanker although better awareness but this lad is short on games whilst Hanley was a regular here at the same age. These are the risks to be expected with these kind of loans but as always the idiots inside Ewood are only looking at the money side of it. -

Seems he made his name at Derby with his best form in league 1 where you can get away with certain flaws and still look good. Got the big move but was out of his depth at Brighton and went downhill from there. That's why he's here being paid mostly by his own club to resurrect his career so they can get a few quid back for him. If he can settle down he might do ok but it doesn't help playing with a B side Christian Daily like McClaughlin. Lads like Cashin need a Hyam or a Batth next to them. -

Only difference imo was Hanley was 6' plus but otherwise he was brainless as well and a liability at times but at least he was a tough lump with presence. -

Agreed, some of the best away performances came form playing that way with more of a press and then counter type style whilst trying to keep possession for periods as well. This all out relentless press that hes switched too just isn't working for a number of reasons. Get back to using the ball and playing a bit of football with the help of a better suited system with players doing what they can manage. It's becoming as daft as JDT's relentless total football from your own penalty area. But whilst it isn't as wide open at the back it is creating nothing whatsoever up top. -

Head coaches don't have the gumption for that kind of old school manager think. They have a formation blueprint and stat sheet for themselves and the opposition from their team of ipad men and they follow that. their idea of thinking out the box is play a new young midfielder up front because his running stats are good and if he gets Championship mins his value will increase. If he does well there and scores or assists it'll go up even further. Rinse and repeat for LWB, RWB etc, that's all that matters.
