  1. Try doing some individual research instead of generic AI which always throws up the easiest to find options first.
  2. As my mate who isn't even a Rovers fan said 'No Gudjohnsen No goals'. We'll go 1 up in this on the counter but run out of steam early second half and a raft of changes will see us lose. 2nd most successful town club 2 - UK's most successful but ruined town club 1
  3. I felt it needed a closing statement.
  4. He's simply being judged on the fact he plundered a few goals which is of course what you want from strikers but..... He did literally fook all else even before this seasons downing of tools which is unforgivable in itself. IF he was a workhorse striker putting himself about across the front line and could actually control a ball he'd have been involved a lot more. You can forgive someone missing easy chances as he frequently did if they keep grafting and getting themselves into position but he threw in the towel way before any of this so called didn't get a fair crack etc. Try and recount the actual good games he had or effective cameos throwing the big lad on up top ? There are hardly any, time to face up to it despite being a nice lad and bonding with fans he just wasn't up to Championship standard football. That's why he's now in China and not on loan to Oxford or someone, he did very little to justify his wages. Not the first certainly won't be the last be the last but it was a poor signing and they've got out of jail getting a few quid back. Move on.
  5. They'd never come out and say it but through their entire tenure there has definitely been an element of F U we own it it's ours. Come if you want but if not we aren't bothered we pay and we'll do as we please. Imo the ONLY way to break that is boycott and show them a football club is nothing without its fans and all the blame and bad publicity lies with you, regardless of your wealth.
  6. Staff and players not being paid at Wednesday meant more anger and probably no opposition from inside the club to protests etc. Plus their owner had a presence at the ground sometimes. Unlike here, invisible owners, people inside the club protecting their own gravy train and don't care about protests because of the thousands of miles buffer zone between here and India. Staff and players always get paid as do the bills so no support comes from them. It's a completely different dynamic here due to 15 years apathy rather than a few years anger as we had over a decade ago. We more resemble Reading or what Charlton were in their slow demise quietly slipping away aside from the odd publicised kick off. When Bolton were slipping away they to had the odd spat but mainly like here loads just stayed away quietly.
  7. Amazing assertion all the way from New Zealand, well done great contribution.
  8. The reported turnover of VH group is around 100 million not 1 billion, the main listed entity 'Venkys Ltd' which flashes around our stadium made a profit of around 6.5 million so the money needed for Rovers is hardly insignificant in yearly turnover terms. Although probably doesn't make a dent in the families overall wealth.
  9. I wish Dunn FC i think it was hadn't got themselves banned off here he or she certainly had their finger on the pulse with V's background activities.
  10. But if he completes a certain number of mins there and a certain set of stats he might actually plunder a goal. Then his value to be sold back abroad has increased which is all these clowns are really bothered about.
  11. The much trumped up Swiss Vaccine plant which also happened to be set up around the time they pitched up at Rovers went into liquidation in 2023.
  12. Also something which may or may not be of interest it seems Barry and Bro set up a company in Switzerland in 2024- Venkys Europe AG - that appears to be listed as an investment company. The 1 other name with them on that is someone called Daniel Steuble which also seems to match the name of an ex player and now finance director of a club named FC Uzwil......
  13. An egg company in the US owned by V's Remind you of anywhere.....
  14. Perhaps the older ones have already stepped away from it all and have just left it in the hands of their finance people because they don't trust their younger nearest and dearest with the keys to the safe.
  15. First club in the world to have an AI manager ! Wouldn't put anything past these lot.
  16. The sales of Jones, Kalinic and Samba brought in enough to cover V;s purchase price plus the inherited overdraft. I'd love to know where all that money went seeing as we still had Prem income then to run the club and previous losses were i think sub 10 million.
  17. I'd give someone like Rowett a spin. Obviously not everyone's cup of tea but nobody will be however he has the English mentality and seems to galvanise teams and fans when he first goes in somewhere. Knows the bottom end scraps better than Ismael and i wouldn't be surprised if he has better win %. He'd probably not touch this job though even though hes on the scrapheap and he wouldn't fit the alignment requirements nor the daft continental blueprint they now seem to have.
  18. War chest incoming. Nixon article 'Rovers have cash to spend due to FFP wiggle room' Once he browsed on here this evening.
  19. Why did he have so many games when we had a better squad than now ? Think about it. He wasn't in teams because of his goal threat it's not rocket science and i don't remember him being farmed out to china in his prime years either. It's nothing to do with comparing apples and oranges it's to do with rotten apples and rotten apples i.e two very limited forwards and the debate who was the rottenest overall. Championship versus Chinese leagues ? It's not even close and by the way i dread to think of your forward line up if you were manager, sounds like you'd be a one up top 'Gueye' .i just hope you'd have someone else who could actually control a football in the team.
  20. I actually thought De Neve had a decent game by his standards at Hull he's far more suitable for pressing high than defending. Creatively though we must have the worst forward line in the league.
  21. Nope that was pure Nixon spin the fee is alleged to be c1 million Euro's which is presumably about what was paid for him. No doubt plenty add ons involved so i look forward to many future payments when he suddenly turns into this mythical goal machine in a sub championship standard league.
  22. Some people like to drag them out for days, i know you won't - you own the ban button 🙂
  23. The key to these arguments is read the actual debates not just throw out the same old 'but he scored more than him'. If we are judging on goals then why hasn't Gueye been a regular starter or sub recently, seeing as he was such a goal threat last season. Why did the other two have long careers in the second tier and a multitude of clubs employing them despite not the best scoring records ? Quite simple really they were better more effective team players.
  24. But we had better squads.... Chris Brown 278 championship games, 13 Premier League Luke Varney 339 championship games, 8 top flight. As i said i wouldn't want any of them but it's cast iron that they'd get picked now before this seasons version of Gueye, goals last season or no goals. He'll score a few in China and disappear into the football wilderness abroad, i'll happily be corrected if not i wish him well. I will argue on this no more iv'e made my point.
