  1. Yep it wasn't the fans or lack of them, it wasn't to be closer to home although no doubt that was a handy bonus, it wasn't the group of players they loved him and he loved them. So i wonder what it was ?
  2. So if the club said we are aligned with your ambitions and within reason we will provide the backing trying to achieve those ambitions then they didn't, there were basically lied to.
  3. Carter is better than Wharton but neither have paired as well with Hyam as Batth did and that in itself is an issue. Never mind the fact Wharton will still be miles away from being fit enough to play a lot it was a career ender he suffered and if he's rushed he'll break down again.
  4. You can tell from Gestede's comments Rovers bean counters weren't happy with Eustaces policy of well paid older players steadying the ship instead of throwing young players in or cheap low fee/loanees etc to develop. Too thick to realise that policy contributed to almost seeing us relegated and Eustaces policy almost saw is finish in the top 6 ! So i think at the heart of the Batth/Weimann saga Rovers didn't really want to keep them even if the new coach did so i'd say they had a nudge towards Derby from this end but no doubt the truth will seep out in time, it usually does.
  5. Eustaces first remit is have a better season than last and bring Championship stability to another big club who've been out of it ages and nearly went again in their first season back. He's doing it to another low budget backdrop Derby are scrabbling around for outside investment they have no real money so his second remit is bring their own players through and sign young loans, like here. So all he's doing is following his own formula which has proven to work and it's common sense, they'll take anything beyond that as a bonus. I'd say though that if they found themselves in the top 3 or 4 in January they'll suddenly find him some money from somewhere.
  6. Yes a lot of reason for the loses was piling debt upon debt with stupid decisions then paying it off on tick. This idea that they've 'invested' 20 million a year just to run the club is bollocks a massive amount of it has been pay offs it certainly hasn't been invested in the playing squad. I bet they are still paying some off from years ago.
  7. They paid c39 million including debt but sold c35 million quids worth of players in the first 18 months. They've created a 'model' that loses 15/20 million a year most years so i think any reasonable offer would be a bonus. Forget the 200 million company tax write off money they've used that's gone it's never ever coming back nor is half of it because this club will never achieve promotion under their stewardship. So wanting some kind of good return is fantasy, clubs of our size get sold all the time but non of them bring big money outside of the Prem and never ever will. I'd say it's more likely they think 'oh well it ain't worth selling, we don't want the files opening and whatever that might bring' so we'll plod on and leave it to Suhail and his pals to bring it into line with what we can be bothered with these days.
  8. And if we'd scored more and been capable of scoring more we'd have nicked a few more points and been in the play offs.
  9. So it will inevitably drag on and on for a year or two yet by which time - soon - we are out of players to sell to make any dent in the running costs. IF this carries on relegation is nailed on unless they bite the bullet and meet running costs AND court obligations and costs, plus the 20% money transfer fees ! I suspect the club (i.e Suhail) know this and this is why the stall is being set out and the type of guy they seem to be seeking come in for Waggot and run it on the breadline whereas he kept it just above that. Again the only real solution for the betterment of the club is sell it or at least seek investment from people who can do so.
  10. 'A deal up to 2 million Euros' Which means the actual price will be around a million quid paid in 3 or 4 instalments then there'll be various triggers along the way if he pulls them. I always remember the spin put on the transfer of Dann from Brum to Rovers which Nixon admitted was to keep the fans of Brums back. It was around 3 million but made the media as 7 mill however Nixon said it contained that many clauses it would be nigh on impossible for him to hit them. This one is far less theatrical of course but it'll probably be a while before it hits 1.8 million quid.
  11. That'll be the 90% business done then by the first week of pre season.
  12. How do you even know that ? You don't. Besides it's TWO clubs.....
  13. And Forshaw x2. Now the other 2 aren't desperate they are in demand so they'll go where the biggest pay is, naturally.
  14. The free agents will be ones who'll accept 1 year deals because they are desperate.
  15. Which is to be expected as if you are under suspicion of what they were/are and being investigated they aren't going to allow millions to leave the country and go to agents and other British or worldwide football clubs. Stands to reason really.
  16. I hope Nixon doesn't bet on the nags there's no way you can make much money betting each way on every horse in the race.
  17. Selective memory syndrome in full working order again across the fanbase. Totally missing the point he cost nothing, at age 18 was taken from the scrapheap and fast tracked into the team because he was holding his own on the training pitches with the seniors. Was doing good cameos at Championship level alongside guys on tens of thousands a week and against players on even more whilst he was earning 300 quid a week. The development club, developing kids line is totally defunct when judging Dolan yet one look at Kargbo running fast and yes he's automatically better. #uckin ell.
  18. A lot of people fall for it just read some of the comments on social media after the ever late to the party LT did a piece on the latest money transfer..... 'Backing the club as always see' 'Bust tomorrow without them' 'Moan when they don't send money, moan when they do' etc etc I know a lot are plants and bots but a lot aren't they are just so totally out of touch with what goes on beyond the bits that make media.
  19. I think if we spent a million pound on most positions in the team by a good manager and recruitment dept we'd have a better team. Paul seems to think that's revolutionary for some reason but the reality is we can't and won't anyway because cheap wages and no/low fees are the order of the day. We aren't replacing Dolan with better for nothing or next to nothing just like to replace a homegrown right back of modest ability with one with better wing back potential cost at least a million and will now cost good wages to keep him.
  20. If there is one thing this ownership has proved very good at it's the smoke and mirrors tactics.
  21. A comment i saw from a Sunderland fan in regards to that CEO was if Blackburn need to go into admin without bringing in the administrators then this is the man. Only saving grace is according to the job advert he wouldn't be a CEO at all just a non football non corporate non finance exec. Sounds like they want someone to run the rest of it as if it were on the verge of bankruptcy !
  22. No i'm clearly saying that Brittain was poor defensively till last season when he seemed to have found a more aggressive robust edge. Nyambe was decent enough in terms of defence in fact he was a beast at times just totally useless crossing the halfway line. Why hes fallen away who knows but his image of himself obviously didn't quite tally with his actual ability. He's not the first not to kick on the way he should have and won't be the last. I see your mental gymnastics and history adjusting are still up to their usual summer standards though, i'm neither surprised nor lost for words.
  23. But it cost a million quid to replace the homegrown Nyambe who up until last season was a still better defender than Brittain but useless going forwards. Is there a million quid available to replace Dolan on the same wages ?
  24. The frustration though is born out of knowing how good he can be on other days. Personally i found watching the likes of Corey Evans stealing a wage here much more frustrating than a developing player on peanuts putting the graft in.
