  1. Also a point worth noting we are quite unique in terms of we have one of the biggest stadiums in the Championship yet one of the smallest towns but surrounded by plenty of places people used to travel from to watch. Now if you can't offer Prem football or even a top class Championship team - despite 200 million and billionaire owners - you have to do something radical to get more in regularly, because they are out there, thousands of them. What do the clowns running the club do ? Everything possible to shrink the fanbase and token gestures just to try and maintain what's left of it. Fans on social media need to consider this instead of just slagging off the attendances for 'likes'.
  2. Who benefits from such a consistent turnover of players and staff i wonder ? Because it seems club policy again here now.
  3. The 200 million pounds question. Plenty theories that might make sense but non proved so far.
  4. Whilst the systemic managed decline is obviously cranking up a gear i think it's all designed so they can continue this fruitless ownership under a far lower cost lower hassle model.
  5. All depends on how this window finishes and expectations aren't good. Poss losing Travis & Brittain alongside Dolan, Batth and Weimann with no tried and tested replacements so i'm sorry but Mr Positive from Positivevill having his most positive day still wouldn't talk up our chances of having anything more than a rotten season. BUT they could surprise us and actually recruit and keep together a good team however with this club nobody knows, not even them.
  6. Doesn't matter how they are paid if you agree to the asking price i.e 2 million plus in Sammies case and maybe there were add ons or sell on's on top. Meanwhile signing players from foreign leagues on deals 'of up to 1,8 million' is a different scenario. You've committed to 2 or 2.5 million for the likes of Szmodics whatever happens, deals 'of up to' you haven't because they have to hit certain triggers.
  7. I do have to laugh at them they'd give Leeds a run for their money their delusion is on a par with Coventry fans all thinking how 'massive' they are. Whilst most of us are narked at losing Batth and Weimann to them it needs pointing out both came in here as squad men yet you'd think they'd just ruined our team by paying 5 million a piece for them reading some of their lots comments. Seem more happy to piss Rovers off again than your average dingle.
  8. I don't think he's in a position yet where he needs to grab the first contract offered to him. His next move will probably define his career.
  9. We are skint when was the last time they made a real investment in a player ? Not one for a few hundred grand per year payment or 'a fee of up to' which means lots of add on's to a low original price ? Szmodics probably ? And that was on the back of sales the previous year so maybe there is a slim chance this summer of laying some real money down on one player with Championship or league 1 pedigree. As for Batth and Weimann yes their loyalty was always to Eustace not Rovers but funnily enough BOTH stated they were happy and really wanted to stay here. Jackson in the LT highlighted both were brought in by Eustace on low wages last summer with a point to prove. They proved their points, now they are at Derby...... no doubt on better wages.
  10. Lets throw a name out quickly before news breaks Dolan has signed for Derby or even Bristol City ....
  11. This 100% and i'm sure it was said Waggot did these deals and apparently Eustace was his man. Talk of power struggles behind the scenes at that point also and now we know who has won those. Gestede's AI machine now tells him he can get two loans for each wage of an experienced player so the bot wins the day. I'm sure big Val would have been happy to keep both but he's the new yes man and they gave him the cheapest one back in Forshaw to appease him a bit.
  12. My take on it is Rovers are expecting to sell Travis for around 2 million give or take so won't commit to any bids higher for anyone else.
  13. To be fair they were proven players albeit in different leagues and of course there's always Gueye who i think if he applies himself better can have an impact as the number 1 back up striker. Likes of Leonard could learn a lot from guys like Weimann in the squad imo, another reason to have experience in the house if you actually want to develop players. He's gone though so on we move....hopefully.
  14. I think that proves my point really, you know what you are getting from the likes of Weimann as long as they are fit but with the kids and cheap punts you just don't. Might look better on the physical stats but you need those 1 chance 1 goal old heads in your squad if you can find one. Might not be great on the running around heat map but worth their weight in gold when it comes nicking the odd games and points.
  15. There aren't many floating about like him on frees these days we needed an experienced back up striker for years, get one then hes gone again. So it's likely we are praying Leonard stays fit and starts finding his feet or some kid from an U23's somewhere turns out decent but i won't hold my breath on either.
  16. Weimann banged in 7 goals and a few assists in 30 appearances which isn't half bad for a 30 odd year old freebie whose legs are on the way out. Considering the punts on so called development players to make money on like Ennis, Telo etc and a few of our own kids kind of puts into perspective the flaws of the way they keep trying to go.
  17. Probably in the top 7 in terms of wealthiest but the flip side is many clubs ownership wealth is between the 100/300 million mark which makes a mockery of the constant cry of needing billionaires just to keep modern day Blackburn Rovers in business. Run the club properly, get the fans back onside and the town behind the club again and you do not need Billionaires nor do you need to lose more than 20 million every year. They are either the stupidest pig ignorant dozy people on the planet or they are the cleverest pulling the illusion of a lifetime.
  18. Personally i don't think there were ever going to be offered anything although they did feature on the retained list but were still under contract at that point. At best it would be the same terms and that's fair enough but going off whats happened in the past they were probably offered less however the main point here is Eustace got those guys in. He played them and Rovers wouldn't even sign Batth the year before pulling the plug at the last min. So both guys have their loyalty to Eustace not the people who run Blackburn Rovers and that is understandable although hard to swallow.
  19. Interesting atmosphere awaits from a no doubt meagre crowd not helped by Cat A or A+ prices.... Eustace boo hiss you snake... Weiman you #anker boo.. Batth boo you greedy tosser... Dolan.. silence.. he was shit anyway. (Apparently)
  20. Derby and our ex head coach and players are going to ruin our 150th aren't they, you just know it !
  21. Well i think the aim this season will be to develop Carter into a saleable asset whilst Hyam sees out his contract and walks for nothing. Back to square 1 next summer.
  22. And Carter might finally form a decent partnership with Hyam. And he might not.
  23. They aren't at a point where they are bothered about value to themselves they are at the point of cutting costs back to a level that will not sustain Championship football but will be inline with what they are able/want to put in. Like say sub 10 million a season and more like 5 mill which will cost them nearer 10. So they are still getting rid of some money, still doing whatever it is they do with the club but just with a lower cost lower profile model. It might not be the owners themselves wanting this but it would certainly appeal to the finance handlers and it seems they are the ones running Rovers now and they won't give a toss which division we are in.
  24. Kaminski has gone for a million but Charlton are paying him big as far as i can deduce from the many comments on it. Rovers imo think they'll get around 2 million for Travis so won't commit to more than that in a bid for any midfielder who'll also have to come in on lower wages. Gestede's exciting summer is akin to someone being told Blackpool is the Las Palmas of the North only to arrive and find it's £7 for an ice cream, £8 for a pint, fish and chips is £20 and it rains all week on the turd ridden beach. Harsh reality Rudy when you turn up with only a taxi fare in your pocket.
  25. 'We tried'.... Can't compete with Oxford though and their massive crowds and we've only sold 30 million quids worth of players.
