You are ignoring what the players themselves have said just to suit your own narrative and believing Jackson and Nixon who in turn have offered nothing more than the throwaway lines 'talks' . Not offers not refusals but 'talks'.... which could mean nothing more than 'yes we want to keep you we'll sort it out in a few months'. Meanwhile several players have spoke to the press themselves out of their own mouths and said they want to stay but haven't had talks yet or been offered anything yet. Where is the actual evidence of that ? Seems the local press are working on assumption and even if so it's literally a few months difference why wasn't he offered something a good 18 months ago ? Some will just ignore the obvious constantly in order to blame the player, they can only turn down a contract when they are OFFERED one in the first place and there has NEVER been any talk of Brittain turning down an offer or stalling on one !

Maybe not the same scenario but there are shades of the Anderson/Kean manoeuvres here again over the last 18 months with such a turnover of staff seemingly forced or encouraged on purpose. When they potted Allardyce the established players went mad and he pacified them by handing out one year extensions then before those extensions kicked in they manipulated them towards the exit door grabbing what they could for some along the way. The aim .. reduce the wage bill for the owners and bring in some money for the black hole coupled with their commission to get rid and bring in cheaper. There is definitely a forced turnover happening again here even in the backroom staff etc and the aim is the same, reduce wages, grab money, bring in cheaper all across the board.
