  1. Only last night i read some kid saying Venkys are now paying DOUBLE for players because of the court case so we can't spend much because of that. It's enough to make you cry it really is.
  2. About a whopping 20 mins difference than to Blackburn Chaddy - sorry, Exiled - and it's a damn sight closer than Ipswich was or many of the others linked with him now.
  3. Plus Travis is from the Ormskirk area, possibly still lives around there so Wrexham isn't far away it's a no brainer for him if they are serious. More serious is the fact these shithouses haven't bothered offering their captain, long serving player and academy graduate anything when this situation first reared its head over a year ago.
  4. But they've now become the 'marquee' signings because they cost a few hundred grand.
  5. Looking from afar it seems quite possible the ED are digging their heels in on behalf of the govt because they just don't want huge sums regularly leaving the country anymore. Probably trying to force them to drop the club or sell it, that could be the real driving issue.
  6. It looks to me like they have a low wage cap for home grown players that doesn't apply to buys, freebies and Prem loans. No wonder they get fed up and decide running their contract down is favourable to a small rise or a 2/3 yr contract with years option on the same money.
  7. The situation with Travis just like one or two others is engineered a year or 18 months in advance by the club so they don't have to commit to bigger longer contracts, bonuses and signing fees it's rather obvious now. Yes the players and their agents play a part but i'd suggest that is often once they realise nothing or nothing worthwhile is coming from Rovers. Once the wheels are put into motion well in advance the players are on their way it's just a matter of when not if and it's mostly by design. Ewood bean counters care not a jot to lose good players it's all about finding cheaper replacements and you could argue in this case that we will get a decent fee but we know were that will go. Venkys have long since blown every opportunity to mould the Brentford model instead having a benefactor we need their money just to survive to now a sell to survive model, we need sales money just to survive and continue the managed decline a bit longer. A player on a better contract commands a better fee, gets a better signing on fee from that as well but if it was signed 12 months ago it might have cost the club an extra 5k a week. They don't want that, can't be arsed with it so just leave things to chance till it's too late then shrug the shoulders. 'He wanted to go' 'We did all we could' and the age old chestnut 'But we offered to make him the highest player' - a month before he knew he'd get more or the same elsewhere.
  8. Hopefully the championship wages for bog standard players and young players has been organically capping itself although i think ours has a lot to do with fluffing out the squad with kids.
  9. Yes both PNE and Bolton in recent years hammered the Chorley area with stuff when they did their respective big early bird discounts. Doubt Rovers even bother in Accrington never mind Chorley !
  10. I wonder if any of those locals know he's been pissing off locals in another town halfway across the world for nearly 15 years now.
  11. If as one or two suspect a lot of the money comes from a huge borrowing facility secured against fixed assets over there it makes one wonder how long it would be before the bank stepped in and called the shots. That could be very painful for us.
  12. Maybe they hold onto all the bonds/guarantees and properties until the whole investigation is cleared and closed. In which case there is little to no chance of future funds.
  13. Interesting stuff thanks for researching and sharing and for the blinkered deniers still evident in the fanbase it can all be fact checked. The DE have the Vs by the balls on this make no mistake and it's odd they are so pissed off at seemingly a couple of mistakes over a decade ago which imo just goes to show they suspect other things have gone on but can't prove it. One thing though puzzles me though, surely once they sent previous money and satisfied the conditions of proving what it's for and where its gone they'd then get that particular amounts bond money back/guarantees lifted ? So they won't actually be so much out of pocket and free to satisfy the next allotted amounts ?
  14. The Admiral Him and Samba were some pairing, will we ever have a defender of that class and ability again ? Unlikely, shame on you Venkys !
  15. Aye Yuki and Ribero came out of nowhere and have done good but it's the Suhail and Rudy roadshow now so we'll have to see what transpires, if anything.
  16. The first signing will come from left field anyway and be a name not even mentioned - or possibly heard of - highly likely to be from abroad.
  17. That's probably why they'll want as many mins as possible into as many as possible this coming season because we won't have much left the season after. Due to lack of continual steady investment going back to when the transfer door slammed on Mowbray and water treading became the aim we will end up needing serious money spent in all depts, defence/mid/fwds. It's all bound to catch up and come on top at some point it has with every other club that has gone down the same avenue, unless Rudy & Ismael turn out to be miracle workers.
  18. How many times have you read/heard people saying i'm not renewing until they show some ambition or spend some money ? And don't pretend you haven't for the sake of being pedantic that act has worn thin now. If you don't think making decent signings will drive more ticket sales then you are truly lost.
  19. I'm presuming or should i say praying that the request for money for running costs is so the club can use some incoming instalment money to invest in a few players instead of all that going on wages etc. Otherwise we are up the creek signings wise.
  20. So what ? Is there no phase two, did they not intend to sell anymore.
  21. Season tickets sales nothing more nothing less. We have an absolute green novice in charge of the football now overseen by an utter penny pinching owners puppet so they think they are being clever playing the game. Waggot was an old hand a that so it's the same script but different voices and we still have half a small remaining fanbase who can't see through it.
  22. Like i said are Venkys going to request extra money to the court for transfers then pay an extra 50% on top to buy a player because of the bond ? It's a non starter and seeing as you've brought it up transfer fees will not be an essential running cost to an English football club in the eyes of an Indian judge whose dealing with objections to money transfer by his own govts anti fraud and money laundering unit. That is 'investment purposes' not running costs not when they are telling the judge they need money for the academy which produces our players. This is the Indian court system not a European one they'll have very little grasp on anything pro football wise you are being way too generous in your assumptions. Considering every item they want money for has to be proven then when paid receipts provided just so they can get their bond back i doubt transferring money to another football club and players agents fits in. It's not happening, not that they are asking for that anyway.
  23. In the near future i wouldn't be surprised if we are the first club in championship history to field regularly a first 11 entirely made up of academy grads and loanees.
