  1. Loss of form at the wrong time. The team doesn't seem to be have been playing badly of late but no one of any quality to take the chances up top. Them 4 dropped points in the last seconds of the last 2 games make this loss a killer. No way Is Brereton anything above championship standard. Should have sold him for £5m early in the summer.
  2. Wtf.....95min and 94min to drop 4 points. Those 4 points would have made top 6 fairly comfortable. Simply can't afford to do this and expect to get away with it.
  3. Did we seriously just conceed a 95th minute equaliser to their goalkeeper? Jesus christ, we really do know how to fuck things up. Win would have been massive looking at other results. No killer instinct in this team.
  4. Why has Thomas fallen out of favour? Uninspiring line up.
  5. How don't you win a game with 80% possession and 16 shots to their 9. And normal championship standard striker would bag a couple today.
  6. Kiss the play offs goodbye. Even if we did sneak in there isn't a hope in hell chance that we'd be good enough to beat the other sides in there. Our position is mainly due to the weak league this year but even that has caught us now. No decent striker and no decent midfielder has been our ultimate undoing.
  7. Not just us that are loosing our better players on a free. Seems to be much more common in recent seasons. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/norwich-transfer-blow-blackburn-rovers-26640431
  8. You just knew it didn't you. Absolutely nailed on to happen
  9. Had no idea Khadra was at Brum. You know he's going to score probably for the first time since he last scored against us.
  10. Not really an Academy player but a young player nonetheless. According to my football app Dilian Markanday has only made 1 sub appearance for Aberdeen since his Janurary loan. Not sure if he's injured but not what you'd expect if he had any decent prospect for us
  11. I don't think from an on the pitch point of view losing BBD is the end of the world. We will miss his goals of late (still top scorer this year), but the games when BBD was injured we arguably played the best stuff all season. Others will need to step up and we will have to do sensible business in the transfer marker to make up them goals but its not impossible. Id rather keep Hyam. The massive loss is the lack of a transfer fee to re-invest. Annoying but not the end of the world. Loosing good players on a free is an unsustainable position for a club like us. Thankfully it looks like they're trying to sort it. As others have said its a funny one with BBD, because he was absolute garbage until 18 months ago, and by then his contract was already into its final 12-18 months.
  12. Not sure Mourinho is just a better version of Southgate. Very much in the keep it tight and win 1-0 category. Id have liked Eddie Howe before Newcastle snapped him up.
  13. I think Southgate has done a good job for England and our recent progress at tournaments shows this, but I firmly believe that he is too cautious minded to really push us towards winning something. I also think he's had one of the best pools of players of any manager in recent history, and any half decent manager would have got us pretty far in all those tournaments. The Euro final at Wembley was there fore the taking. 1-0 up and tried to sit back from about 30 minutes onwards. Last night, dominate the first half and second half barely get out of our half. Yes Italy played better 2nd half, but this can only be an instruction from the manager. We won the game so fair play, but it made for a harder finish than it needed to IMO. I wouldnt loose any sleep if Southgate left, apart from Im not sure what other decent managers are available and would be interested in international football.
  14. Game over. Absolute disastrous subs. JDT needs to take this one on the chin. Morton you little fanny, giving them the ball to try and con a free kick.
  15. All over the place since these subs. Need Dolan on for some freshness up front. At least keep them occupied
  16. The game against Stoke was always going to be a tough game, especially when their confidence is up. This team isn't good enough to win every game so we were always going to lose at some point. The big test of promotion is following up a bad result with a good one. This game should be a must win. Wonder if we could drop Szmodic deeper against a poor reading side. Pears Britain Carter Hyam Pickering Szmodic Travis Thomas Dolan BBD Gallagher
  17. Wow. This is back to the preson and Rotherham performances. I thought this could well be a difficult game but the manner of it is shocking after recent weeks. Apart from the top 3, everyone beats everyone in this league. Difference between 4th and bottom isn't a great deal.
  18. Well it was nice while it lasted! Had a dodgy result written all over it this one.
  19. No surprises its an unchanged side. I'd like to see us with Britain in as I think he's our best all round full back, but would he harsh to drop Pickering after a goal and clean sheet or JRC given his form. Big show of support to the front three that BBD still on the bench.
  20. Hopefully the 6 days of rest will do some of the squad good after a bit of an intense period. Cant see how you can justify changing the starting line up at the moment, so same side again. Only change I would consider is Brittain for pickering. Hopefully Stoke try and have a go which will leave some space on the counter. Think some of our players are better suited to that rather than breaking down a deep defence.
  21. Massive win and what a february/march it's been so far. The annual Tony Tombola death spiral seems a long time ago thankfully.
  22. Get in!!! One of the best performances I've seen in many years. Probably since the premier league days. Could have been 4 or 5 and then some solid battling. Didn't expect that level of quality.
  23. If we dont win this it will be a travesty. So many missed chances. Unbelievable performancr so far. This has been a massive shift. Hopefully we don't pay for it at the weekend.
