  1. What a Joke this transfer is becoming. Lucas wants to move - clear, but no-one in the world matches his agents and his own valuation. So he walks out in June, signs a similar deal to the one he was offered here at Newcastle (assuming they haven't found anyone better). In the meantime we keep him as club captain - that annoys me, its supposed to be an honour not a sweetner for an average player to stay! Saying that Hughes stalwart support of the player may yet pay dividends. I for one would still be dissapointed though if he stays.
  2. Classic. Its only an auction when two people are interested. Dunn is a good signing at £1M but a risky signing at £2M. The board obviously want to make it happen but won't pay over the odds. Good Management. We have to accept if he ends up at Bolton its becuase we have sound football and financial stewardship.
  3. By paying attention to him he's getting worse - I would seriously advise for the good of his health that you ignore him. Continuing to provide a forum for his increasingly manic rants is potentially not a good idea.
  4. 3 Points off newcastle and Wigan, with more points than games played. Projected total 42-43 based on todays performance - i.e. inconsistant. Please let this be the end of our 'wobble' with storming results against Arsenal and Liverpool! Can't wait for Nelson & Reid 'signings', the resolution of the Lucas saga and hopefully some fresh blood as well - if we can survive as we are till January I'm hopefull.
  5. I've said my piece, I'm not going to repeat myself or respond to the charge of been childish. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion myself included. I think its clear the support is split on this one, I can see why. Unfortunately the situation is very unhealthy, I predict unrest in the stands, infighting amongst supporters, general decline in the atmosphere and morale of the paying support. Neil is by no means solely responsible for this but his actions, whether right or wrong deserved or not have made the situation much worse. I fear this divide will be our undoing, unrest in the stands will inevitably spread to the pitch. The players don't face life in the fizzy pop league, especially not Lucas that’s us the fans. So no matter the rights and wrongs of the situation the support must stay together and support the team if we are to be successful, I just don't see how this can happen in light of Lucas' decision to deride the home support especially in light of the fact it is (or was) a minority.
  6. Fed up about hearing what a model professional the guy is, he ran the length of the pitch to goad a section of fans - What Professionalism! I didn't boo him. I respect his right to leave at the end of his contract - what I am livid about his lack of disrespect for the all fans with his stupid gesture. Abuse from the boxes at the last game, names and seat numbers taken for standing during the one moment of action last night and to top it all off the captain of the team I support ridicules the BBE..... Oh and I pay them for the privilege, no more - it’s a joke! You can stick your modern football and footballers up your backsides, sit on your arses continue to ply your money into these p!ss artists in a souless empty stadium. No wonder we can't generate any atmosphere your all apathetic doormats who would rather get behind a journeyman footballer than your fellow supporters. 130+ years of proud history - wheres your pride?
  7. Contract engineering is just like this, difference is you don't take the P!ss out of people paying your wages.
  8. My view is simple whilst he was putting in the effort, I don’t care if he wants to leave at the end of his contract. He keeps quiet; we keep quiet - fine by me. Last night he didn't berate a minority group of supporters, the captain of the club attacked the home support on European wide television (they don’t understand the Ewood park seating arrangements). The boo's he's had were almost inaudible on Saturday compared to Pederson's 1st half lamenting and came at a time of extreme frustration – lets be honest he’s not exactly been berated has he? So the stakes have been raised by both player and supporter, pick a side. Journey man footballer vs. Paying support I for one won't go to another Rovers game whilst that man plays for the club, which it seems won’t be that long. But those of you, who have turned on your fellow supporters, enjoy watching your captain against the team he is so obviously desperate to play for on Boxing Day. The scousers on the Darwin end will know he's a red at heart, the fat scousers in the boxes behind you will know it, the Liverpool team will know it, the Blackburn team will know it and most of all you can't delude yourself anymore - you know it. Enjoy the ridicule - have you no pride?
  9. Guilt and misplaced Loyality. Oh yeah and because once in while you look over a bouncing Ewood park and see the scoreline Rovers 3 - 1 Man Utd, and then when you thought it couldn't get any better number 4 goes in!
  10. And how many times have you seen it? At what speeds? Says to me offcials have a difficult job seeing things once at premier league speed and having to make the decsion in the very same split second. And just in case your job wasn't difficult enough you can hear the abuse behind you and are just waiting for that coin! Hughes is using these refs/lino's as a smokescreen for an ineffective front two and an unsettled and depleted defence. Perhaps he needs to look closer to home before questioning the integrity of offcials. Or are we suggesting there is a conspiracy becuase were to good to go down?
  11. Got to agree there; motivation (fight and chase), intelligence (so many off-sides) and composure (some big fluffs in front of goal) seem to be the pre-requisites that our front two lack at present. The skill of Benni Mc. is unquestionable but in a league where power and pace rule he's not going to get 20+ goals a season.
  12. A bit harsh! and no doubt your post count and resultant 'regular' status means special dispensation from the posting rules. Initiatives to improve service are welcome by me, I guess you dont walk the concourses so its easy to make ill-informed snap judgements on things you have no insight into.
  13. Confident we will be OK. Wouldn't bet my house on it but a couple of months pay maybe. Slight worry is Hughes' ref focus, what happened to "hopefully those things will even themselves out over the season" His positive attitude I belive has been our greatest strength bemoaning refs and the 'big' decsions worries me slightly.
  14. Man's a pain, an attention seeker and boring. For those of you sadistic enough to want him back on here ruining every thread he comes across - can I suggest you stick pins in your eyes its less painful. I too used to defend him but his antics were a joke in the end, what you have heard is only the tip of the iceberg... I for one stopped reading/posting here cause every thread went down the same topic - not the walkers but what a prat Vinjay was Vs. Free speech It was very very very boring!
  15. My windows media player (wmp) doesn't says no codec for this format is supported, it used to now it doesn't - weird. Anyone advise on how to rip from wmp 10 to mp3?
  16. On a similar theme, how can you rip from a CD straight to mp3 format these days. I used to have lame.dll which let me do it on my desktop but can't seem to find the variant that worked for me before.
  17. We are all agreed then so allow me to sum up:- A nice new (but cheap) stand of simlar capacity to the riverside with nice new bars and shops with facility for the TV cameras to sit on top allowing the media world to see the grounds 'bigger' sides. Sorted. Who's going to tell John Williams?
  18. Well the 'rush' meant the database went out the window last night - which is the main argument against cash turnstiles for games like that. Doesn't help when some greb at the front holds everyone up cause his mates haven't given him enough cash to pay for his tickets - mates like that shafting you (and indavertantly every other fan in the queue) who needs enemies! 14,000 in last night most of them kids - will reap rewards but will need more initiatives and a lot of time to come to fruition. A bold move by the board but seems to be working....
  19. I thinks he has some good points can anyone really argue that the breakaway EPL didn't decimate lower league football and reduce competitiveness?
  20. In light of Bolton (H) and with the additional insight of Lucas clearly on his way out and now having evaluted (albeit very limited) Benni and Roberts penalty taking skill. Perhaps a poll on our penalty takers with 2nd and 3rd choice elaborated on via a post?
  21. I'm in a chicken and egg situation:- Can't (or don't want too) book hotel/travel until I know if I will get tickets, cant complete the application form with my travel details until I know if I will get tickets, wont get tickets unless I complete the application form. As a season ticket holder plus non season ticket holders with no euro previous I'm not exactly top of the list. Come on Rovers sort out the details and let us know one way or another.
  22. 1-0 to Liverpool result of overly-clumsy Lucas Neil foul resulting in a penalty. Replays will show a wink between Neil and Bellamy before the incident, Lucas will leave the club in disgrace and Mark Hughes will be forced to resign for making Lucas capatain at Anfield.
  23. So he wants out.. fine. Why drop him? might as well get value for the wages we pay him. But can we really have him as captain for Liverpool (A)?. That would show a fundamental lack of respect to the fans in light of his recent comments.
  24. 1-0 Rovers Jeffers I dreamt pre-season we wouldn't win for the first 5 games - Game 6 hopefully is nailed on otherwise I would have surley dreamt we wouldn't for 6 games? Put your house on it!
