  1. The guy who played Albert Tatlock was a regular at Rochdale games bsck in the day.
  2. A fit Mitchell has got to be a better bet than the one footed Trippier or the injured Shaw.
  3. Peters Faces - Just Like Romeo And Juliet Decent cover of the Reflections hit.
  4. Or Rice coming off when we’re well on top.
  5. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Up Around The Bend
  6. If Rovers were sponsored by an airline it would be ” Plummet Airlines “.
  7. Graham Parker And The Rumour - Squeezing Out Sparks It’s an LP, I know. It’s got the brilliant “ Discovering Japan “ on it though.
  8. Yep, there’s some good ones on there. Billy Paul and Timmy Thomas are particular favourites. You don’t hear much of the Honey Cone these days. “ Want Ads “ was a brilliant record they did. No1 in the US, did nothing here.
  9. It’s hard to believe but years ago Austria didn’t even bother entering a team for the World Cup in Chile. The team was reckoned to be awful and that they’d be embarrassed. As soon as that happened they went on a really long unbeaten run beating England 2-0 in the process.
  10. Now we are through do you think Southgate might experiment a bit more ?
  11. Was it Belgium ? It was definitely David Platt. A great over the shoulder volley.
  12. Last time I remember us getting a goal like that was David Platt against Portugal.
  13. Giggs played for England schoolboys. I think his mum was English but his dad was Danny Wilson, a Welsh stand off who played for Swinton Rugby League.
  14. He’s right about Saka being a lightweight. He’s too used to Premier League refs who blow up if somebody gives you a dirty look. The refs out here let things go.
  15. Most of the top English teams had at least a couple of Scots in their first 11. Loads of players that hardly got a cap then would walk into their current team.
  16. They can’t really complain. Three games, 2 goals, one an own goal and the other a really massive deflection on a shot going right down the keepers throat. I thought Hungary were really poor. They played like a team that was already through instead of a team desperate for a win. The Scots just aren’t producing the players anymore. It’s interesting to see that the England team has lots of players with immigrant backgrounds, as have most Western European teams, whilst the Scots don’t appear to have any.
  17. Sonny Boy Williamson - Don’t Start Me Talkin’
  18. Bobby Bland - Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City
  19. The Who - The Kids Are Alright
  20. I don’t think Robertson has had much of a tournament this time.
  21. A really poor game until the time added on. How many simple passes were miss placed by both teams. Hungary were playing like they were already through.
  22. Mm, I think I’ll stick with my broken leg.
  23. Mine wasn’t that bad. The pain came later, it was just numb at first and I couldn’t move/waggle my foot. I remember playing in a game were an opponent broke his leg. It was raining heavily and the guy was in a lot of pain. This guy was screaming. The ground we were playing on was totally enclosed. The gates onto the ground were kept locked and the key was kept in the works lodge about 1/2 a mile away. It took ages to get the key and open the gate to let the ambulance in. When it actually got in it got bogged down on the soft ground so some of the older players got a bench and managed to get the lad onto the bench and carry him to the ambulance. He was in a lot of pain and back in those days ambulances didn’t carry much in the way of pain relief. It must have taken 40-45 minutes to get him on his way to hospital.
  24. I didn’t when I broke mine. That’s how I know.
