Same here in Rochdale. -
I remember coming home from work one day about 5 o clock. The Aussies were batting on about 50 for 2. Underwood came on and had them all out in roughly an hour ! For the last couple of wickets he had every fielder in so close they were all in screen on the TV. As a kid I’d never seen anything like it. A few years later on I saw England batting against India ( I think ). Heavy rain had got under the covers, then a really hot sun came out India had two leg spinners bowling, Intikab Alam and Chandrasekhar ? England were doing ok at first, then the sun got going and all of a sudden the ball started turning square ! They skittled England out in about an hour that time. That was a real sticky wicket.

We’ve also had smaller clubs like Bury, Oldham and Rochdale in that catchment area. -

What’s the weather like over in Blackburn ? It’s been pouring down most of the time where I live in Rochdale. -

Yates “ isn’t as good as Gallagher in the air “ ? What is he - a dwarf ? Gallagher is the weakest 6’ 4” giant I’ve ever seen. -
Sounds like Derek Underwood. He wasn’t bad.

I saw them both at the old Spotland stadium against Rochdale. I’m pretty sure Steve Bull was playing for Wolves. The dingles also rocked up there in Div 4. Here’s a couple of games for you - FL Cup ( Littlewoods Cup ) Round 1 Aug 20th 1986 Rochdale v Burnley 1-1 att 1937 Sep 2nd 1986 Burnley v Rochdale 1-3 att 2805

That’s why we’ll never thrive under their ownership. The sooner they’re gone the better. -

Like any cup game it’ll come down to who wants it the most -
They had what you need to win against the odds - your keeper puts in a 10/10, you have a big chunk of luck, and when the chances come along you take them.

I remember Dailly playing in a game against QPR I think at the tail end of Kiddo’s reign. We were losing 1-0 with about 5 minute to go. They knocked a long ball out onto the wing in our half. Dailly set off after it with a QPR forward just behind him. The pitch was greasy and it wasn’t a place for fancy football. The ball had go out for a throw in, it’s a pisser, but that’s the only thing you can do. Instead of that Dailly tried to turn with the ball, lost it, their forward got possession, squared it to an un-marked player, 2-0 , thanks for coming. Amateur level football. The crowd booed Rovers off and I said to my son “ Don’t worry, Kiddo will be gone after this “. And he was. -
