It was bad enough losing Wharton but to realise what a shambles the management would make of utilising the fee we received for him is jaw dropping even to the hardened Chicken Choker watchers on this board. What was once a really well respected football club has become a laughing stock in the football world. They’ve turned us into a joke within the game. The Chokers might not have any pride or self respect and integrity obviously hasn’t a place in their vocabulary but I have. They need to be embarrassed just like they’ve embarrassed us. Anybody up for it in the London area - get down to the Indian embassy in London and start burning a few Indian flags on the pavement outside. I’d contribute to the cost of the flags.

I think what that should say is - the club’s screwed. If it wasn’t for my son and grandson, and me trying to maintain that continuity of support I’d be long gone. I bailed out when they appointed Coyle and it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I’m within an ace of doing it again. 13 years of this shite is enough for anybody.

Gale was 35. John MacNammee was 30. Having said that back in John’s day 30 was knocking on a bit even for a centre half. He was what I call a centre half. He made Andy Todd look like a wimp. Matt Woods, who was the first Rovers centre half I saw play and was a real class act retired at 32.

It’s obvious that we need the money asap. I suppose Wharton knows that as well as anybody.

I'm sure it is but if I had a £5 note for every time I've seen a player move to the wrong club and see their career go down the pan I'd be reasonably wealthy. It's like anyone changing jobs, you've really got to want to do it.

If his heart’s not in it he’d be better off not going there.

It’s not just about the 11 that starts the game anymore. It’s about what you have on the bench that can come on and influence the game. Bench full of kids = losing games in the last quarter of the match. Ring any bells ?
