  2. Looks like somebody trying to climb up a pile of chicken shit - very apt.
  3. What is the attitude of our local MP’s ? There’s a general election in the offing ? Maybe they could be galvanised into some action. As a side note, there’s a by election in my constituency, Rochdale, and the candidates were out in force at the football match on Saturday and the Rugby League match on Sunday. One of the candidates is a Dingles season ticket holder, allegedly, but he still rocked up to the ‘Dale on Saturday. It shows politicians are aware that football fans are also voters. Could we crowd fund a “ Venkies Out “ candidate in Blackburn in the forth coming general election ?
  4. I also follow a local rugby league team for my sins. Many years ago we were going through a really bad spell. After one particular game I’d had enough. I was in kicking the cat mode. It was really affecting me. So I said to my pal “ Don’t bother picking me up on Sunday Stan, I’m not going anymore. “ Of course my pal still came around on Sunday but I stood firm. I said “ Stan, I’m done !” So he says “ OK, why don’t we go and watch Oldham v Leigh then or we could go and watch Swinton v Saints ? “ So we agreed to do that - pick a game and go as neutrals. We lasted about a month. It was like kissing your sister or eating a toffee with the wrapper still on. That was me done for years, Stan still went but I was finished with the club. Then the club moved grounds to a five minute walk from where I lived. One Sunday afternoon, completely out of the blue, I decided to go again. That was it, I was hooked again. That was it and 35 years later I’m still hooked. We got battered yesterday but I’ll be there for the next home game.
  5. My experience is that it’s ten times harder to get people to return than it was to attract them in the first place. Once people walk away they tend to stay away. In other news - Charlton are near to signing Nathan Jones as their new manager. One to scratch off our potential replacement list.

  10. What is the point of insisting somebody stays when they’ve made it clear they’d rather not be at Ewood anymore ? It’s just madness !
  11. The Monotones - The Book Of Love
  12. The problem for me is inspite of some good wins and nice football he still hasn’t addressed the problem of our “ glass jaw “. We fold under pressure, if we go behind the game is as good as over.
  13. I could have told you what would happen just looking at our team at 3-00 pm. Nobody to get us the ball and nobody capable of stopping their players from playing. Too many seven-a-side players out there. It reminds me of when I played. The lad who was really outstanding in our seven-a-side indoor training sessions was rarely picked for the eleven-side-team, he just wasn’t physical enough.
  14. At the Newcastle game ? And don’t wait whilst they are 4-0 up.
  15. Who can blame them ? What is the point ? To be shit on from a dizzy height week after week. It’s like living in a psycho drama. Every time you think things might be getting on an even keel another shit show blows up. It’s like living with an alcoholic. Things go ok for a while and then you come home from work and find them lying in a pool of their own piss. You have a bust up, things go ok again until —-+——— ! Rinse and repeat. Sooner or later one of you has to go.
  16. It’s ok other fans saying that but what would they do about it ? The Chicken Chokers are half the world away in another continent that’s not known for always going by the book. I think part of the problem now is Venkies have got on the wrong side of the governing party. Maybe they didn’t contribute enough to Modi’s “ election funds “. The wealthy out there play by their own rules. They never set foot in the UK, how can you apply pressure ? Next time they tell you that, ask them - what would you do ?
  17. That’s when support really started going downhill. A lot thought “ What is the point ? “ and who can blame them.
  18. Fleck’s just coming back from a twice broken leg. I know what that feels like. If he’s going to be putting himself about like the old Fleck he’s a braver man that I ever was.
  19. What credence do you give to the rumour that Travis was unhappy with the way JDT was running things and made that fact plain ? It sounds like he wasn’t the only one either.
  20. Two of the lads who might have played in that midfield have gone to Ipswich and Palace and another one who might have done is still injured after being loaned out. We’ve made a real balls of this. You can survive the odd mistake but making a succession of mistakes usually leads to disaster. I saw it in my working life, companies making a succession of bad appointments. The next one worse than the last etc. It always ends up with the doors closing.
  21. When I saw the team yesterday I thought - “ Who’s going get us the ball ? Way too many chiefs in that team and not nearly enough Indians.”
  22. And not only that but they replaced him with a no mark never was. And when the no mark never was nearly relegated us they kept him on. And when the no mark never was actually relegated us they still kept him on. In my experience of the modern football scene that is pretty much unprecedented. Something smelt to high heaven then and it smells a lot worse now.
  23. Given the fact we completely ballsed up the signing of a lad from 100 miles away and another lad from 15 miles away in last midseaon window I thought we were being really optimistic trying to sign a lad from another continent and another time zone.
  24. Evie Sands - Take Me For A Little While
  25. “ to protect him “ ? To protect their arses I think.
