  1. Given the backing Kean had in his time at Rovers from the football establishment he appeared to be “ highly respected in the game “. It’s just a shame that in reality he was a shit bag.
  2. Who’s “ We “ these days ? When did “ We “ last have any sort of influence over whoever “ they “ appoint ?
  3. I would imagine that the Catholic Church would have a bearing on the lack of a left wing party in Ireland.
  4. It’s a poor appointment. If you were Lenihan and you were hanging back to see who we appoint would that appointment encourage you to stay ? I can’t stand Mowbray but I’d prefer him to Duncan Ferguson. Why do these bastards continue to shit on our heads ?
  5. Who was it said the other day that the plan is “ managed decline “ ? What other view can we take. Of all the options we can take the Chokers chose somebody like Ferguson. If we have to have a Ferguson I’d rather have Darren Ferguson ! At least he’s been a manager. Drunken Duncan is just a motivator, that won’t wash with today’s players for more than a game or two.
  6. If Hudds don’t go up who would you like to see at Rovers from their team ?
  7. The key point is getting the club promoted. Anything else is a sideline.
  8. I’d like to see that last try again. It looked like the scorer may have been off side to me. Great pass to the kicker though to open the field up.
  9. There’s an old saying you may or may not heave heard - “ If you’ll work for nothing you’ll steal “.
  10. I’ve said this before but if every time the Chokers came to an important decision they just tossed a coin they would have got at least some of the decisions right. Certainly more than the one they’ve got right in the last decade or so.
  11. Just a motivator as far as I can see. I’m not sure that works with modern players.
  12. Yes, in Rochdale as well. I played for a pretty good team as a lad and when we played teams near the bottom of the league the rule was - if you scored a hat trick you had to play the rest of the game in defence. Everybody went along with that apart from one guy - he wouldn’t. He got 8 goals in one game. He was a baby liner.
  13. Very good player in his day. As was Mark Hughes, but so was Paul Ince. Unknown quantity as a manager. No word on Dyche, I can’t see him coming to Rovers.
  14. BBC are saying the dingles are hoping to sign up Vincent Kompany as their next manager. Great player in his day but a bit of an unknown as a manager. A bit of a gamble really. He’ll either be a success or a failure, there won’t be a middle ground.
  15. Van Nistlehorseface was the best for that. I never saw him score a goal from outside the 6 yard box.
  16. That’s my thoughts also. There seems to be nobody in authority that is bothered in the slightest. Then I just heard on the radio that another Yank has taken over at Chelsea.
  17. I’m a history buff but at the moment I’m trying to get through the books I got bought for my birthday. Eddie Jones ( England RU Coach ) biography, Dave Groehl ( Foo Fighters ) biography, and The History of Rochdale Hornets. The first two aren’t really my cup of tea.
  18. It’s still the hardest situation to defend against. The guy coming in on the back post has the drop on the defender. He can see the ball and the defender. All the defender can see is the ball.
  19. Just goes to show that even well run teams are only one or two bad decisions away from a disaster. In our case two I suppose. Selling out to the Chicken Chokers and firing Big Sam. In Burnley’s case selling out to the Yanks and maybe firing Dyche in the manner they did. IE with no real replacement. At least their guy did better than Kean. Putting the rivalry to one side what happened at Burnley is a disgrace from a financial point of view. I know they thought it was hilarious when the Chokers trashed one of the most well run clubs in the Prem. It’s their turn now. Maybe they’ll be more sympathetic in future ? Neither club should have been put in this predicament.
  20. What was good enough previously for the Premier League isn’t good enough now. The Prem moved on and Dyche didn’t. That doesn’t make him a bad manager, he’d be welcome at Ewood as far as I’m concerned.
  21. Maybe Dyche being “ a very good championship manager “ wasn’t quite enough for a team in the Premier League.
