  1. Teddy boys were before then. Mods and Rockers who knows. I remember getting off the bus at the Boulevard in about 1963 and from a style point of it was like going back in time about 2 years from where I lived near Manchester. Things soon caught up though with the influence of TV and the likes of “ Ready, Steady, Go.”
  2. I think they’ve followed our game plan of getting relegated from the Premier League at exactly the worst possible time.
  3. I think it changed in the mid 1960’s. I was going to derby games in the early 60’s and there wasn’t any trouble. By the mid 1960’s there was. Why it changed I don’t know.
  4. Just watched the highlights of todays games on MOTD. So you’re down to ten men and you score the equaliser, if you’re an idiot you take your shirt off and get booked. Then if you’re a complete moron you go in on the trickiest player on the pitch and dangle a leg out for him to go over and leave your team mates to battle on and lose the game with 9 men. I’d fine him his wages for that. What goes on in their heads ?
  5. One thing I’ll never forgive the Chokers for is taking the pleasure out of watching things like that DVD. Maybe it’s just me.
  6. Save that for next season.
  7. I couldn’t see Leeds getting anything today at Brentford. Shows what I know.
  8. You mean they used to be until the new owners rocked up. Let’s see how it all pans out financially now.
  9. I don’t normally laugh at other peoples misfortune, your turn always comes around eventually, however - From todays season review in my paper. Tony Scholes and Burnley’s season review. “ Moment that made me smile “ - “ I was so grateful to SKY for screening Blackburn v Fulham in November. Watching our local rivals lose 7-0 at home definitely lifted the mood “. Well Tony, todays result has definitely lifted my mood. What goes around comes around.
  10. You can’t run Rovers, or any other football club, by remote control. As long as the Chokers are “ running the show “ we’ll always be a Zombie club.
  11. A good friend of mine is a Sunderland fan. I’ll be going up there next season with him all being well.
  12. You’d think they’d still be bowling in the nets I suppose.
  13. Rovers must have had gay players in the past. It stands to reason given the thousands that must have played for us.
  14. We’ve had that one a while ago, we played in quarters then.
  15. The ones of us with memories of previous Mowbray death spirals knew what was coming.
  16. Van Hecke for me but I don’t mind Wharton getting it.
  17. Coronavirus to blame according to my paper. It lead to inaction, which led to a loss of bone density. I’m not having it myself. Why only English fast bowlers ?
  18. As Mrs Shoelaces says - “ Your taste must be all in your mouth “.
  19. Flairs ? Not for me mate, I never wore them.
  20. I used to get really bent out of shape with refereeing decisions , off sides , cards etc. I don’t anymore. There’s no logic or common sense to any of it. I just take the rough with the smooth. In 50 years I’ve only honestly seen a couple of games in both codes were I thought there might have been something going on.
