  1. If Lenihan goes as he well might we are stuck with an ageing Ayala, who plays when he feels like it, and Wharton. If the new guy plays 4 at the back with 2 centre halves , unlikely in todays game, we’ll need 4 guys who can all play there. If he plays with 3 centre halves we’ll need 5 players who can do a job there. Centre halves get injured and more to the point get cards. Keeping Carter makes sense to me.
  2. It sounds like he’s come on leaps and bounds. Much as Wharton did on his last loan.
  3. I agree. What the last young centre half called that we let go cheap ? The one who ended up playing in the Prem with Sheffield Utd. O’Connell ? This could turn out the same. Let’s get him back here and have another look at him. Especially with Lenihan having itchy feet.
  4. He’s possibly the best attacking central midfielder in the division. If we can’t afford to keep Rothwell we obviously can’t afford Swift. Lower level Premier League teams are looking at him.
  5. Daley Thompson’s second goal was a belter.
  6. They’ve missed Mina.
  7. Good luck to him. It’s time we came into the 21st Century in football.
  8. What will they be interviewing him on ? I’d not be too impressed if they weren’t there in person.
  9. The first time I saw the “ new “ Forest team play I thought “ this lot are going up “. They looked like a team that gets promotion. Team shape, pattern of play, they had it all.
  10. I know the stats Chaddy but sometimes there is a story behind the stats. I was reading about another manager not long ago. He’d brought in a lot of new players in the close season and they were struggling to gel. The board got nervous and decided to fire him. The team he built got promoted with the next manager.
  11. Me too but his stock has fallen badly since his time at Forest. I don’t know much about what was going on there. Did Cooper transform the club completely or did Hughton lay the foundations ?
  12. I think at the time Lambert and his staff were a good appointment. It just didn’t turn out that way.
  13. Yeah, that’s just the tip of the iceberg in my opinion. Not just Burnley either.
  14. I thought they gave us 0 points on several occasions. From I heard of the songs at the time we did well to get zero.
  15. Possibly because it’s a crap anthem. More like a dirge.
  16. Me neither. It stopped being a music competition years ago.
  17. Sutton missed the easiest chance of the game in the second half.
  18. That’s the issue. If the Armstrong sale is anything to go by it’ll mean nothing for the new manager to spend
  19. I always liked Barton as a player. He’s a winner that drives the rest of the team on. Something of a Robbie Savage but Barton could actually play. Would I want him as a son-in-law ? Not really, but it would be interesting. Same thing applies to him as a manager.
  20. He can’t possibly be any worse than the previous lot.
  21. Having Dunny as your “ right hand man .” Is the “ added degree of difficulty “ factor in any appointment.
