  1. What disheartens me and I suspect lots more regular attendees that don’t go as much anymore is the total lack of direction at the top. It’s no fun sailing in a rudderless ship.
  2. They’ll need to buy him a right foot first.
  3. To me he’s always reactive and never proactive. Unless it comes to selling the training ground of course.
  4. One thing about it is your games will be no longer as predictable as they were. Anything can happen now. New line up. Probable new way of playing. Lots of new faces. Some interesting young players. Change of style. Kompany has come in to re-build and he’ll find it a lot easier to re-build in this division than the Prem.
  5. I can’t remember another team that was relegated from the Prem having such a clear out. Most teams lose a few of their better players but this is verging on a whole team, or certainly all the ones capable of playing at that level.
  6. Who do we sell next year to help with FFP ?
  7. This league is a grinder. You’ve got to be able to fight for the right to play your football. That’s been our failing over the years. Too much prospective son in law material and not enough JoeyBarton/Robbie Savage/David Speedie type bastards. Maybe Kompany knows that and is getting rid of the players who don’t fancy the battle.
  8. Milly Bright is a class act. A womens football version of Bobby Moore.
  9. That’s a point. The officials in this league tend to let a lot more go by. We got beaten up at Luton last season. A reckless tackle saw Edun off for a couple of months and that sly elbow on the blind side saw Gallagher coughing blood up.
  10. Half of them have left. Last season we had a pretty good team and a crap manager. This season …… who knows ?
  11. But this season more than last season.
  12. For Burnleyto go down Kompany would have to be a Steve Kean standard appointment and I’m pretty sure he isn’t.
  13. Dack’s got what you can’t teach players.
  14. He certainly played like a “ Blackburn Rovers player “ He always gave 100% unlike some loan players we’ve had.
  15. The only problem with players like Bellamy going into coaching is that none of the players under him will be half as good as he was. Some coach’s find that difficult to deal with.
  16. The fact that you had to go back 40 years for examples should tell you all you need to know.
  17. I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve seen Brittain play but reading their site he seems Nyambesque without the robust physique.
  18. Like most left footed players. They always give you a chance as a defender because of that - unless it’s Messi or Maradona of course.
  19. When you’re having a new baby would you really like to be in a foreign country with only a slight understanding of the language and a country away from the usual support staff of your families ?
  20. A mate of mine took his son to that game. He’s never been to the Turf since.
  21. There’s only one place he should be playing - up front near the centre.
  22. And Maradona, Gerson, Puskas, Giggs, I liked playing right back because you knew all you had to do was show the left winger the inside and nothing much was going to happen. Unless they were right footed of course but usually they weren’t. One footed right wingers don’t come along often although Meccy was pretty bad in that respect. Really World class right foot only players don’t come along often either. Jimmy Johnstone was one I can remember. He was really right footed but he had such acceleration from a standing start and he was such a brilliant dribbler with that one foot it didn’t really matter.
  23. I wasn’t MGP’s biggest fan but you couldn’t fault his ability to strike the ball with both feet. Up there with the best in that respect.
