Chaddy, the same people are in charge that have been in charge for the last decade.. That’s why things will never really change. -

I saw him play several times when he was at Rochdale and I liked him. Hard working and quite good on the ball. He’s a bit blunt in front of goal though. -

The lad Rathbone is the son of “ Basil “ Rathbone who played left back for Rovers back in the day. There were rumours that Rovers were looking at him when he was at Rochdale as a possible Travis replacement. -
The Worst Match You’ve Ever Seen…

The game before Kiddo got the black spot from Jack. QPR at home. We’d played terribly and we were losing 1-0 and chasing the game with a couple of minutes to go. They launched a long ball down the LH channel, Christian “ Bloody “ Dailly set off after it with a QPR player bringing up the rear. It was a really greasy pitch and the ball was quite near the touchline. I know time was going by but the only thing to do was put the ball out for a throw. Did he do that ? No, he tried turning blind with the ball. The QPR player just took the ball off him and crossed it to an un-marked striker who slotted it home. 2-0, thanks for coming. Early on in the only bit of skill I can remember Matty had beat two or three QPR players by the sideline, looked up, and put the most perfect floated pass right onto Ashley Ward’s right foot. He was un-marked 6 or 7 yards out and he side footed the pass about halfway up the Darwen End stand. As we were coming off I said to my son, “ One good thing, Kiddo will be gone before we play again “. And he was, . -

Just seen the Preston goals. I wouldn’t be too happy with the keeper if I was a Norwich fan. Kaminski makes the odd mistake in games but he never makes several crucial ones all in one game. -

Yes, he made that look very easy when it wasn’t. -

What summed that game up for me was when we got a free kick in a decent position in injury time. Everybody came up for it. It had to be put in the mixer. MGP was taking it so there was a chance of that happening. Instead he went for glory and put the ball in row Z. Unbelievable. -

That Cup Final must take the medal. Dougan asks for a transfer on the day of the game, then plays carrying an injury and breaks down after 5 minutes. Mick McGrath puts through his own goal then Dave Whelan breaks his leg with no subs. All this on a blazing hot day. A Cup Final that we’d waited for for years and the game was over at half time ! Plus the following fall out from the ticket scandal. -

It’s all pie in the sky. At our level if you have a good season but fail to win promotion your better players get stolen ( or given in our case ) away and you get to start all over again next season. Exactly back where you started from. That’s if you’re lucky. If I were them I’d be saying exactly the same. Keep the pressure off as long as you can. -

Too many to mention really. I was at a Lancashire Senior Cup game between Rochdale and Oldham years ago. It was a particularly cold and dreary game with no goal excitement at all. The game had gone into extra time with no signs of any improvement. My pal turned and said to me - “ The ref should make them play until they drop “. An old guy in a flat cap was stood right in front of us and he turned and said - “ Nah, he should make them play until they score, it’ll take longer ! “ -

Anybody else watch the England womens game tonight ? They’ve got the “ Dutch disease “ as well. They got in lots of trouble passing it around at the back. The USA goal came directly from an attempt by one of the centre halves to pass the ball out. What really annoys me is when an outfield player has the chance to play it long and then chooses to give it to the goalkeeper to clear. There’s a reason one of them is an outfield player and the other is the goalkeeper. -

Dominate in midfield and most of the time you’ll get a result. Lose the midfield and most of the time you won’t. -

He was great for us and gave the club some brilliant times but - hand on heart he’d seriously lost the plot at the end. It was fun while it lasted though. -

I could never figure that out. When my son and I were discussing who would need replacing when we made the step up to the Premier League he was one of the last players to be replaced. How soon is soon matey ? Lucas Neill came about 10 years after Curtis had gone. David May replaced Curtis. -
