  1. I always look at like this - who would you rather play against ? I couldn't see a way of getting past Nyambe unless I got lucky. Aarons might be better going forward and good on the eye but he's not as good a defender. Nyambe is a formidable opponent in a one on one situation out wide.
  2. That'll be the smell of the shit we played last night.
  3. For all the good he does he'd be better off sitting in the stand. He'd get a better view of what's going wrong. All Rugby League coaches chose to sit in the stand and communicate with the bench via a walkie talkie. It seems to work of them. Our coach used to sit in the stand behind the posts, he reckoned that was the best view for Rugby.
  4. My beef with Mowbray is we just look like a collection of players. Some good not, so good. Most of the time our pattern of play is dull, uninspiring, lacklustre, easy to play against. We see teams like Rotherham come to Ewood and have the better of the game and manage to keep us at arms length without too much trouble. Teams were you might think one or two of their players are better than what we have. They can do that because they do have a pattern of play, they have players playing in roles that are suited to their abilities. You can look at them and you can see who's supposed to be doing what. We lack that cohesive team set up. Half of the games we've played in and not done well most of this board are calling for half the team to be dropped. Two games down the line the new guys need dropping and the usual suspects are being selected. We haven't got a best team or way or playing. I accept that with the amount of games keeping the same 11 is almost impossible but the way of playing should stay the same.
  5. What you mean is 12 months ago Dack was a top player. The chances of a player being being out for over a year and coming back to the same level of ability is roughly 50/50. Then we have the issue of trying to incorporate his re-habilitation into the team when we're playing like we are at present. I'm not optimistic regarding Dack, certainly in the immediate future. Travis, I'm more optimistic with but his injury might have given him pause for thought regarding getting stuck in as he used to.
  6. He's the manager. The buck should stop at his desk. If it doesn't and decisions are being made without his approval he shouldn't be staying in the job. I'd ask - " What do you think he's done to encourage Nyambe to stay ? " He looks a quiet lad who doesn't make a fuss. His good nature has been taken advantage of in my opinion. One of the few players at the club that gives 100% effort every game and we'll be letting him go - crazy.
  7. Who was it that said if you put all the players into a big sack and walloped the sack with a big stick you wouldn't be hurting anyone who didn't deserve it ?
  8. After all this talk of playing passing football it was ironic that a real ale house ball un hinged them at the end. Owen Farrell would have been proud of that one.
  9. And then you have Lenihan and Ayala who are both prone to missing games. After that it's Carter or Nyambe ! We need Maglorie back ASAP.
  10. When your luck's out it really is out. Having said that we have them pinned in by the corner flag with a throw in and they get out and go the length of the field to score !
  11. If Downing doesn't know his bank manager will be able to tell him. Regarding the selection - In the immortal words of Graham Taylor - " Do I not like that ! "
  12. I believe Northampton's ground was the same. At Darlington's old ground you had to pass through the cricket ground to get to the football pitch.
  13. Who'd had two broken legs himself prior to that. One on the same day I did mine.
  14. It's a good job we didn't have the internet then Herbie !
  15. Yes the comparison in style with Zurab is pretty accurate.
