  1. It’s like him thinking he could go the whole season playing 5 at the back and none of our opponents would come up with a plan to counter it. Playing a deep lying striker or false centre forward isn’t anything new, Hungary were doing it in the 1950’s, so it was obvious that teams would work that one out as well. We needed a centre forward to use as plan B when plan A wasn’t working. Even Bournemouth have recognised the need for an ale house striker when the football isn’t working.
  2. To be honest what has killed us has been the complete lack of impact the five players brought in during the window have had. No goals and Giles with one assist I think. Souey added to an already strong team with just one player, Berkovic, that was all it needed.
  3. I’m not being clever, I’m just using the benefit of our recent experience under Mowbray. I said at the end of December that we’d no chance of going up automatically and it was 50/50 wether we were still in the play off zone at the end of the season. Even I over estimated our chances.
  4. Yeah, they came from behind in a game. Something we don’t do.
  5. I think we’ll be fighting relegation anyway unless we can get a really good manager in.
  6. He’s out of work. What do you expect ? He’ll go anywhere that will give him a job.
  7. “ I wouldn’t be surprised if we are dreaming of days like today “. And who’s fault would that be ? He’s had enough time to build a team that would be challenging again next season. A pound to a penny we won’t be.
  8. It’s not just that we’ve ballsed up our best chance in 10 years, it’s the repercussions this seasons failures will have on next season.
  9. One fact tells me all I need to know about Mowbray’s reign and why I want a change. How many times have we come from behind to win a game ?
  10. What a fabulous day to have a vital home match on. I agree with you, if we hadn’t have blown our chances the gate would be tremendous today.
  11. I don’t agree that we’ve not had relegation worries.
  12. He’s had long enough to install a winning mentality and he hasn’t managed it. Time to give someone else the chance.
  13. Sounds like Paul Gallagher mk2.
  14. You don’t see those two words in the same sentence very often.
  15. Whoever signs him next is going to be making the same mistake. I heard he was going to Feth.
  16. That goal in the West Ham game years ago had me thinking. Anybody who saw it will know the game I mean. There was a lot riding on that game for West Ham.
  17. That’s what happened to Botham and Flintoff.
  18. He could have been anything he wanted to be.
  19. The highs - winning the Prem. The lows- the last ten years. Even bumping around for a few seasons in the old Div 3 in the 1970’s was much better. Best performance - Rovers 7- Spurs 2.
  20. I’ve been watching football and rugby league for a long time and I can count on the fingers of one hand games I saw that I thought were fixed. Some game were fixed though. Anybody remember Leeds playing that German team in the European Cup Final ? Back in the day when players earned peanuts compared with today’s players some vital games were fixed by the players. This was usually in matches that affected relegation.
  21. The way the club went about capitalising on the Oxford game was pathetic.
  22. Poveda looked eager to get going again when he came on the other night.
  23. I was thinking of Carter more as a centre half. Him and Wharton could be the future.
  24. I think Carter might feature next season.
