  1. The only teams I heard him talk up were our opponents, and that was irrespective of who they were. I stopped listening to him eventually.
  2. Correct, Mowbray didn’t sign potential captains. He only wanted lads who weren’t going to make any waves.
  3. It’s hard to argue against that. By and large he’s been coming in when the score was 25 for 2 or 50 for 3 as well.
  4. Let’s see what he averages in the future.
  5. DOF ? I reckon they’re waiting on the outcome of tonight’s vote. We might have a new candidate.
  6. I think that might change now he’s not weighed down by the captaincy.
  7. I know things have changed in football but three of our successful managers back in the day - Ken Furphy came from Watford when they were shit. Gordon Lee came from Port Vale who were roughly where they are now. Jim Smith came from Colchester, again roughly where they are now. All three went on to be poached away from Rovers to manage in the First Division.
  8. That’s been part of the problem. Mowbray didn’t sign players that were real captain material.
  9. I also thought the free kick Wales scored from should have gone the other way. James kicked the Ukrainian guys foot, not the other way around. He likes a dive that James.
  10. I thought the Ukrainians should have had a pen in the first half. You see those incidents were a player kicks another player coming up from behind them given all the time by British refs.
  11. They’ll be planting a body in the local canal with contract documents for the Rovers job in his brief case soon Mike. I can think of one or two candidates for the body.
  12. Well Shakespeare is far enough out of the loop to be thought of as a serious candidate by the Chicken Chokers. It’s usually somebody who wasn’t previously in the betting.
  13. Well you’d think so wouldn’t you ?
  14. Yes, that was unexpected, by me anyway. I had the Kiwis as favourites at the start of Englands second innings. I agree with Gav that there’s nothing better than Test Match cricket. Unfortunately in yesterdays paper Greg Barclay, the independent chair of the International Cricket Council, said “ If you look at the way cricket is going there is no doubt the white ball is the way of the future - that is the game that is sought after by the fans, where the broadcasters are putting their resources and what is driving the money “. So there you have it. He also spent some time rubbishing women’s cricket.
  15. Today’s “ Observer “ really lambasting the French authorities. I think I’ve read 3 articles on the subject including one from a French football fan. All singing the same song.
