  1. Who just happened to be a complete one off and the best player I ever saw.
  2. That’s always “ the elephant in the room “ at Rovers. When we have to send the carrier pigeon off to Pune because they’re run out of paper clips in the office. Chokers out.
  3. I’ve had my criticisms of him but as you say he has several good points going for him. I’m pretty sure we won’t get a replacement as good without paying a fee unless we’re very lucky. Are there no Colin Hendry’s knocking about in lower level Scottish football any more ?
  4. That really grated with me. Mowbray sees Mahrez coming in off the right wing onto his left foot and thinks” Who have we got who could do that ? I know, that left back we’ve got on loan from Wolves “.
  5. That’s my worry Den, the lack of experience of the current championship. They’ll be relying on Lowe and Johnno a lot at first. Is that a good thing ? We’ll soon see.
  6. My thoughts exactly. Klopp would struggle with the way Rovers are setup. Managers are doing the job with one hand tied behind their back at Ewood. It’s the same old Chicken Chokers “ added degree of difficulty “ . Somebody should tell them it’s not like Olympic diving where you get extra points for added difficulty. Nothing is ever properly thought through. Even the dogs in the street knew we were needing a new manager months ago. JDT has been out of work all that time. Yet apparently we only realised he was available a week ago. Either that or he was well down the pecking order at the start of the process. Good luck to the lad, I hope they dust the cobwebs off the cheque book and give him some money to spend. He’s going to need it. It’ll be a change from listening to Mowbray droning on about what a good team Rotherham are.
  7. I’ve a bad feeling about this coming season. If I’m wrong I’ll be delighted.
  8. Luckily for us. We’d have gone down if Ince had have stayed much longer.
  9. As you well know our form from Jan 1st 2022 onwards was relegation form.
  10. I know it’s understandable but you’ve obviously forgotten about Paul Ince !
  11. Or a Samba or a Henchoz. However Christian “ Bloody “ Dailly though is another matter.
  12. I’ve got to be honest. I can’t think of one manager who I honestly think would be a success at Rovers under the current owners. We’re set up for failure that deeply.
  13. Anybody with a seat that faces the pitch would have already realised that.
  14. The problem was the people who sacked him. And they’re still the problem. How many hours do they reckon it takes a novice to become skilled in a trade or hobby ? I think I read 4000 hours. I served my time for 5 years and at the end of that 5 years I was worth employing. Just about. This lot have had 12 years and I wouldn’t send them to the chippy and expect them to get the order right !
  15. Who’s going to be Ayala’s replacement when he cries off in the warm up again ?
  16. He’s not good enough for the Premier League. That’s why he’s still at a Championship club.
  17. Yeah it was really obvious that they’d reached for the nuclear option after being involved in the game for a dog watch and knowing the square root of nothing about football. What could possibly go wrong ? The first thing I did when I heard they’d sacked Sam was to get the league table up to see how many points we needed to get to 40. That’s the honest truth.
  18. Yes, probably the best player on the pitch inspite of the score. Tremendous goal.
  19. I was supposed to see them in 1964, just when they’d released their first LP. I had the ticket and got into the venue. There was supposed be mods v rockers trouble in the town that night and they never turned up. According to Bill Wyman they only missed two gigs in their whole career and that was one of them ! I did get to see them years later at the Sheffield arena. OK, but nothing special that time I’m afraid.
  20. If that were todays football Ripley would be on the left and Wilcox on the right. Both coming inside all the time and crowding the play.
  21. Rice is the nearest in style and position to Ronnie that I’ve seen playing for England recently. What we used to call a “ wing half “. The link between the defence and the advanced midfield. Unfortunately Mason Mount will never be the new Bryan Douglas even if he lives to be a thousand.
