He’s not a “ leader of the line. “ type striker. More of a Sammi type player. -

“ Paul Gallagher “ went through my mind watching him last weekend. If Gally had have been quicker he would have been a top striker. As it was he was blessed with only average pace. Having said that he had a good career playing in a deeper role without ever reaching the heights. -

He took his goal really well last weekend. That was a real strikers goal. -

I watched him in the Accy game. A near and tidy player who obviously knows his way around the pitch. He not particularly big and not particularly quick. He kept possession ok and passed the ball around with short passes. I wouldn’t say the game passed him by but I can’t recall him doing anything that really caught the eye. Buckley also came with a massive reputation at a similar age. It’s a real achievement to be playing against men at such a young age but I didn’t see what Arsenal scouts are allegedly seeing. I suppose they can afford hoover up as many likely young players as they like on the off chance that 1 in 10 might make it. -

I agree. Just bare individual stats don’t always tell a proper story in a team game. If you’re a full back and your winger isn’t pulling his weight defensively you may get beaten from time to time. -

I feel sorry for the lad. The last time I had cramp it only lasted a couple minutes. He must have a chronic case. -

It’s certainly more of an irrelevance for centre backs. Them and goalkeepers tend to go on the longest. -

I reckon that’s Pickering’s sick bucket the lad is carrying. -

Non of those five prospects you mention are at a stage where they can hold down a first team spot. -

Does the club care?

The last 15 years tell me - no they don’t care. -
Best team lost I thought but we never gave up so fair play to our women. Great header and penalty from Lucy Bronze. Some times you make your own luck. Some bloody awful penalties though.

Passport problems
Tyrone Shoelaces replied to Tyrone Shoelaces's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football
That was my thinking as well. I went on the TUI passport checker ( I’m not going with TUI ) and put all my details in and it said I was good to go. It really is a confusing situation. I couldn’t take a chance though because the staff at the desk could still turn me away. -
Just a word to all who have a British passports. My wife and I are due to go away at the end of the month. We were filling out our boarding passes on line when my wife noticed what she thought was a problem with my passport, Although the date of expiry was the 3rd of June 2026, the ten year anniversary of the passport being issued was the 3rd of September 2025. That is a couple of days before we are due to return to the UK. This was because back then if you renewed your passport early they tacked on the extra months onto your new passport. Since Brexit this no longer applies ! I looked at the ABTA advice on the internet and it said if your passport is valid when you enter an EU country it’s OK as long as you have at least 3 months left on it when you come back. I looked on a UK government site and it said more or less the same thing. I thought I was in the clear. However I thought I’ll just check. So I went to my local “ Hays “ travel agency - the girl says - I think you need a new passport but I’m not an expert, see the Post Office. So I go to my Post Office - the girl says - yes, you need a new passport ! So today I’ve been over to Liverpool to sort out an emergency passport for twice the price of an ordinary one ! The woman at the passport office counter said - I definitely needed a new passport. Everbody out there beware of this anomaly.
