Both Don Howe and Derrick Kevan both played for West Brom. Langley was a nasty piece of work. I remember seeing him kick Barry Ratcliffe out of a game at Ewood. Barry had been giving him a chasing so Langley finally leapt at him with both feet, landing on Ratcliffe’s leg. It was a booking then, today it would have been an instant red card. That was Barry out of the game with no subs.

I once marked a lad who was wearing a studded belt holding his shorts up. Those were the days.

Back in my time there were a few opponents who made it that weren’t anything special as lads. David Cross, who had good career at West Ham, City etc, Chris Catttlin, who played Div 1 at Coventry, Les Chapman , Oldham and Huddersfield etc he’s been in football all his life. Last I heard he was the kit man at City.

I did my ankle as a teenager playing on Saturday afternoon. I still had to do my Saturday night paper round !

We’ve been collecting wingers this season. It’s a change from collecting midfield players.

You should replace your weakest player at the end of each season. Weakest two if you can afford it. That would have been Wilcox and Pearce for me. City have been winning everything in sight by a mile but they’ll still strengthen the team this Summer. That’s how you stay at the top.

We needed a class winger, Wilcox wasn’t good enough.

Get the hosepipes out.

Overmars for Wilcox would have been my signing.
