  1. It doesn't look quite like that in the photo in todays " Guardian ". The transition from Black to Red appears to be more " feathered " or blended in. The vertical band in the middle in that photo isn't as obvious in the one in the " Guardian ".
  2. I'm just looked at a photo in my paper of last nights Shkendija v Spurs game. Shkendija's home shirt is a fantastic red and black halved number with black shorts and black socks with red turn overs. The black blends into the red of the shirt very nicely. It'd make a great Rovers away kit.
  3. He's giving it a good go as far as I can see Phillip !
  4. I don't see why we have to gamble on a player who has had a serious knee injury. Are we seriously saying he's the only half decent left back in Europe ? One thing I will guarantee, he won't be any quicker after the injury.
  5. You're right, sooner or later it'll catch up with him. You can only play on adrenalin for so long. We need to be resting him before that happens.
  6. I agree on Cunningham. We've enough players returning from pretty serious injuries without signing another one.
  7. Nothing wrong with a good " ale house ball " from time to time. I remember watching Forest playing a very good German team ( Cologne ? ) in the European Cup. Forest had played good football through out but the German defence had an answer to every move. In the last minute Forest launched an ale house ball right down the middle. The German centre halves misjudged the flight of the ball and a Forest forward ( Tony Woodcock ? ) ran in to score the winner. How many times have you seen teams score against Rovers with similar long balls ?
  8. That pitch was made for donkeys, just like Blackpool beach.
  9. When it comes to football normal rules don't apply. Gareth Bale £600K a week = Madness.
  10. It wouldn't surprise me, we're only consistent in our inconsistency.
  11. Exactly. If we aren't going to sign players who are better than what we have we are just throwing good money after bad. The Hart signing was a classic example, what exactly did he bring to the party ?
  12. I had a weeks notice on my contract when I worked in industry. " Less than 2 years " would be a dream for most people.
  13. Dolan's done more in the three months he's been here than Big Ben has in three years.
  14. Me too, he'll get plenty of game time given Holtby rarely plays the full 90 minutes.
  15. They were top drawer in their day - " Stage Fright ", " The Shape I'm in " etc. Not massive hits like " The Weight " was but great songs.
  16. Dickov terrorised more centre backs than those two ever will and he wasn't much bigger than Jimmy Clitheroe. It's what's beating under the badge that matters more than just size. No point playing a direct game with what we have at the moment, the ball would come straight back at us.
  17. Doesn't it make a difference when you have a target man to play to. When you look at our two big strapping lads they haven't got the physicality that Livingstone had.
  18. You can add the Sunderland goalkeeper that we were " tracking " for months that ended up going to Rangers or Celtic, I forget which one now. There's a bit in my paper today - " Arsenal have signed the Iceland goalkeeper Alex Runnarson for £1.8M. Arteta may add yet another goalkeeper to his ranks and Brentford have turned down multiple bids for the highly rated David Raya. Arsenal's third choice, Matt Macey wants to pursue first team football elsewhere. " Not so highly rated at Ewood Park by some though.
  19. Best pass I ever saw at Ewood in recent times - From just outside the right hand corner of our penalty box a ball like an arrow right into MGP's stride out on the left wing almost on the edge of our opponents penalty box. The passer - step forward Aaron Mokoena. That cross from Kuqi out on the touchline right onto MGP's foot for that volleyed goal wasn't bad either. Regarding Buckley, good players can always turn away from trouble into space. Ordinary players turn into trouble lots of the time. Simon Barker wasn't the quickest but he was brilliant at turning away from trouble and into space.
  20. I went to both of those games. It was 2-2 away at Derby. I must have got a really early bus from Rochdale to get to Blackburn to get the coach. Me and another Rochdale lad who later emigrated to New Zealand - Alec Becconsall.
  21. Yeah Andy Burgin, we got him from Halifax for a handful of magic beans and a toilet seat. Twice the left back that Bell will ever be. Mick Heaton on the other flank, a free transfer from Sheff Utd !
