I just checked Mike Jackman's book. Mick McGrath's last game in the 64-65 season was against Everton at Home on March the 6th. Fred Else was missing from after the Home game with Burnley on Feb the 24th until the game with Man Utd on April the 3rd. So logic suggests that the photo was taken before then. Like you I don't recognise the ground. I the photo was clearer I might be able to recognise the opposition forward.

Possibly not. We know what we're getting with Williams at centre half, he's half decent most of the time, especially if you want to hang around in mid table. Presumably Swansea have had look at Sarr and Williams and apparently they prefer Williams. I'm hoping Wharton will come good, I think I've seen a footballer there. Certainly if I was scouting I'd be back for another look at him.

I don't know much about Sarr but the fact that he played for a relegated team doesn't mean he's a bad player. When we were relegated in 1966 we had the best centre half in Europe, possibly the best centre half in the World, playing for us.
