The 5-2 was a great game. It had everything. Probably in my top 20 Rovers games. -

Both Don Howe and Derrick Kevan both played for West Brom. Langley was a nasty piece of work. I remember seeing him kick Barry Ratcliffe out of a game at Ewood. Barry had been giving him a chasing so Langley finally leapt at him with both feet, landing on Ratcliffe’s leg. It was a booking then, today it would have been an instant red card. That was Barry out of the game with no subs. -

I once marked a lad who was wearing a studded belt holding his shorts up. Those were the days. -
Blackburn lads who played for rovers

Back in my time there were a few opponents who made it that weren’t anything special as lads. David Cross, who had good career at West Ham, City etc, Chris Catttlin, who played Div 1 at Coventry, Les Chapman , Oldham and Huddersfield etc he’s been in football all his life. Last I heard he was the kit man at City. -

We used to have a saying about players like Khadra. “ He dribbles when he comes to a pair of feet “. -
I know that, I meant which one of the series. I’ve seen them all.

Tony Mowbray Discussion

Rochdale had a super fan who collected money for them for years. When he died he left all his estate to the club. I heard about £250k. They’ve bought a new electric scoreboard with some of it. They also commissioned a bronze full size statue of him sitting down. It’s placed in the seat he always sat in, I passed it the other day when I was finding my seat at the Rugby League.
